  Bad hotel.stay anywhere else.bad smell in the bathroom,very noisy,old hotel.this hoyel is not good if you want to rest.You will come more tired because of the noise from the bathroom and others rooms.Breakfast was the same în all of 7 days.

  We were put here after our TUI flight was cancelled. We stayed just one night. If you're staying as a result of a delayed flight, then this hotel likely won't compare with what you've been in previously. But give it a chance, see it in the daylight, and you'll see it's actually quite nice. Breakfast was included and featured bread with jam, marmalade, and Nutella, a marble cake, eggs bacon and sausages, fruit, yoghurt, and more. Plenty for vegetarians! The rooms were not amazing, and could definitely do with a revamp, but were also not the worst. There's only one, quite thin pillow, and the mattress was a little thin too, but there's good aircon, a nice bathroom with a shower, and it suited us for the night we stayed. I highly recommend investing in at least some plumper pillows!All of the staff were incredibly friendly and did their best to let us know about the changes to our flights and where we got food. As far as we're aware, Hotel Gorgona doesn't serve lunch or dinner as we had to go to another hotel for that. There's also a large pool with shaded sun loungers and a bar with tables and chairs. It's surrounded by really nice and grassy grounds which are very pretty. It's quite calm, and there were plenty of loungers to lie on. Great way to spend an afternoon reading. Overall, it wasn't the worst stay, and with a little work done to the rooms, it could be a very nice hotel to spend a couple of days. There's a gift shop right across the road, and plenty of restaurants, including a sushi bar, right by it. Apparently there's a beach nearby too, although we didn't go.

  I booked a 7-night stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, the pictures that are presented on various sites do not correspond to reality. It cannot be classified as 3 stars. We arrived and he accommodated us in a room on the ground floor. The bathroom was terrible. The sink was rusty, it smelled bad, the shower cubicle dirty with rust marks, plastic on the floor, the curtain sticking to you. The bedding was dirty and smelled very bad, especially the pillows. We asked them to give us a room as it was presented on the website. With renovated bathroom, glass shower, clean and decent. Street facing rooms are extremely noisy. At night you can't rest, you can't keep the window open because dust gets in.The next day they changed our room at our insistence. Breakfast is the same every day. It's good but you don't really have a choice.What is beautiful here, the GARDEN! The pool is big, clean water, you have shade, a bar and you can relax. The only plus at this hotel is the very short distance to the beach (3 minutes) and the fact that they have a swimming pool and a very nice garden.

  Extraordinary again

  I came back with my husband and our nice this summer to this small but wonderfull family run hotel, where we felt extraordinary well in 2018.We rediscovered (in spite of the corona virus conditions) the same nice, peacefull place that we knew, the same very kindly and helpful staff, the lovely ladies Maria and Aristia from the reception and the most beautiful garden with palm and colorful flowers that sorounded the hotel and the pool. The cleaning of room service was very good (the towels were changed daily.) The rooms are rustic and the ones with garden view are quite. The breakfast is continental. The pool was very well maintained and very clean.The HOTEL is very close to sea beach and close to taverns and shops too.It is not a luxury hotel but if you are looking for a simpley cosy, decent place and a warm and pleasant atmosphere this is the place for you.We will always come back here with pleasure.

  Good quality-price ratio and amazing staff

  I went on vacation with my sister and best friend and we stayed in this hotel for 7 days. This is old fashioned hotel mostly intended for younger people who are not seeking for much comfort. Do not expect excellency, but if you compare price and quality you will get, I would say that this ratio is very good. Hotel has great location and is very nice, but needs to be renovated. Thus, if you have special demands or higher standards, this is not a hotel you should consider.Rooms are quite small, as well as the bathroom, and everything is pretty old, but hygiene is at high level. Room was cleaned each day, towels and sheets are changed every two days, which is not so common for 3-star hotels. When it comes to breakfast, menu was not so various but food was fresh and tasty. WiFi is very good, as well as air condition system. Hotel has large, well maintained and clean swimming pool where we spent lot of time since nearby beach is beautiful but very windy. Garden is beautiful with lot of palm threes and various plants and flowers. Huge disadvantage is that there is no no mosquito nets at the balcony doors, especially if your room is facing the hotel garden like it was in our case. Thus, you are basically forced to sleep with air condition on and close the door in order to stop various insects and other small animals such as lizards, bats etc. to enter in the room. On the other hand, location of the hotel is great, since there is lot of tevernas, stores and souvenir shops in Amoudara. Local beach is 150 meters distanced and across the street is a bus station from which you can get, among other destinations, to Heraklion and Knossos. Vis-a-vis hotel is huge medical center as well as tourist info which we found more than useful.Despite several above mentioned disadvantages, you will get great hospitality from hotel staff who is always at disposal, will make you feel like home and give their best to improve the overall impression of the hotel.
