if you do not like it, do not come again.

    rating06 Oct 2024

The hotel is small, there is nothing to mention, the room is normal, it is not far from the sea, but if you complain about something they advise you, if you do not like it, do not come again. Crete has many hotels better than this one. My advice is to find another hotel.

    Very good basic hotel apartment

    rating14 Sept 2019

Very good basic hotel apartment (apartment 114)Nice little 2 star hotel with 10 apartments in central Agii ApostoliAfter a little misunderstanding upon our arrival (we were apparently not expectet), we (senior couple) were assigned a nice spacious 1 bedroom apartment. There were 2 good single beds 90 cm x 200 cm (could stand as a double bed or separated) with comfortable mattresses + a sofa bed - also full adult size.Included in the price were free safe, free wifi (which occasionally went a bit sluggish inside the apartment, but always OK on the balcony) and free, functioning, quiet air conditioning we could regulate ourselves. It had the smart finesse that it turned off automatically when we removed the key card from the room or if the balcony door was open for several minutes. Very environmentally friendly and economical !! However, with the small minus that we couldn't charge our electronics when we were away from home !!There was nice little east facing balcony with small cafe's table and 2 chairs + drying rack.Nice little bathroom with excellent shower, which would however feel a little small for big people. Possibly. a few towel / clothes hooks would benefit, just as exhaust was lacking. There was plenty of hot and cold water. There was small kitchenette with sink, 1 hotplate, toaster, filter-coffee machine, kettle and small fridge with small freezer built in. In addition, the most necessary kitchen utensils (though a little random selection) not suitable for larger cooking, but fine for making breakfast / afternoon coffee yourself. A light source was missing in the kitchen area. Also mentioned is a hood that was neither connected to power nor exhaust. But when we weren't cooking, it wasn't a problem for usThere was a small television that we didn't try.Cabinet and drawer space were reasonable. Nice size apartment for 2 people. On the roof of the hotel is a small swimming pool which we did not use as we had the lovely beaches so close. The hotel is approx. 300 m from a lovely bathing bay with several other beaches close by.Short distance to 2 large supermarkets + several smaller ones nearby. Lots of good restaurants within a few hundred meters, and the bus to / from Chania stops almost right outside the door.A sweet and nice cleaning assistant, who was the staff we had the most contact with, kept the apartment clean and tidy - with cleaning 5 X weekly and change of towels and bed linen 2 x weekly. If you are looking for a hotel where all the basics are OK, without being flashy in any way, this hotel is a really good offer that we would like to give our very best recommendationRegards Silke

    Good value basic apartments

    rating09 Oct 2015

Overall we had a good time at Ilias. We are not people who like to spend time in the hotel and like to be out and about all the time. So all we wanted is a clean self-catering place in a good location -and that's pretty much what we got.Pros-Ilias only has 10 apartments and a rooftop pool and terrace but we never used the pool as we prefer the beach.-On arrival we were greeted with a drink and a chat with the manager which was nice. -Location/street is quiet as it's a no-through road. There were some building works going on nearby but that's obviously not the hotel's responsibility and didn't bother us. Quiet to sleep even with the window open.-We had free wifi which worked well, a free safe, and free air conditioning but we never used it.-There was a clothes horse and pegs on the balcony which was very practical.-The studio apartment had a kitchenette with kettle, toaster, coffee machine, fridge with small freezer compartment, 2-plate cooker, basic pots and crockery etc and was enough to make breakfast and simple meals.-The bathroom had a shower cubical -much better than the sticky shower curtains youget in some places. -Matrasses were good.-Close proximity to 3 nice beaches.-Bus stop into Chania is right outside across the street and bus tickets can be bought from reception or the nearby corner shops.-Big Inka and Lidl supermarkets within 10/15min walk, smaller more touristy shops close by and with longer opening hours.-Plenty of restaurants and take-away places in walking distance.-The area is a mix of residential and hotels/apartments which we liked but some people might prefer a 'proper' resort. ConsThere wasn't anything major but here are a few points to note.-Although we didn't use the pool we noticed that the pool bar seemed to be closed all the time and you are not meant to take your own drinks, which is inconvenient for people.-The pillows were too firm and thick for us (but that's subjective).-Cleaning was ok, but room for improvement. -We ended up buying our own toilet paper as it we only ever got 1 roll every 3-4 days, which seems a bit mean. It wasn't a problem for us buying our own for a few euros but it's a bit odd in a hotel.-The bathroom was quite small/tight.-One thing we really didn't like was that the hotel management asked us a few days before the end of the stay to pay by cash. When we went to pay a day or so later and said we need to pay by credit card as we don't carry hundreds of euros in cash, he was quite obviously not pleased. Card facilities were there and working so we don't know what the issue was. That left a bit of a bad taste behind.Overall the apartments are basic but very good value for a relaxing break.

    Convenient Location, Spacious Rooms

    rating05 Aug 2015

The hotel is placed very close to restaurants, markets (even a Lidl supermarket) and a Drugstore. The bus stop (for most destinations) is approximately 7 minutes on foot, while there's another only 3 minutes away. The room was spacious and included the basic utensils, a TV and air-conditioning. Lavish hospitality and help from the receptionist. Nevertheless, we were not quite satisfied with room cleaning, which apparently included only vacuuming and bed making. Towels and sheets are not changed daily unless requested.

Title says it all. 2 minutes walk from the beach & multiple restaurants. 5 minutes walk from LIDL & INKA supermarkets & 6/7 minutes walk to main street.........First of all NOTHING is too much trouble for Nectarius or Maria. Owners couldn't have been more helpful in the booking process. Everyone made us feel very much at home, from the minute we arrived, with unloading the cases from car, and asking did we need fed at almost midnight!!! Bar was small but onsite & food was limited but CHEAP & good! Rooftop pool was AWESOME. We had the ground floor apartment style rooms & it was super clean & well equipped. Kettle, toaster, coffeemaker & ample crockery etc for 4 people. Front balcony & back (sun trap) for that apartment. They even provide clothes horse & clothes pegs!! Our only downside was no microwave but not uncommon. The hot water had mega pressure & must have been 140*. You even have your own emersion booster! The A/C unit was SUPERSONIC (I was actually freezing on the first night) !!If anything I would say they could save some money/effort & not clean each unit & change towels so much? But then some people want everything in a budget hotel as they get in a 5* luxury? Since we had a 9.30pm flight I had initially booked an extra night in room as the hassle in the past with an elderly mother & child finding a luggage room and getting last minute showers etc was a hassle. So......Another unheard of bonus at Ilias was checking out late on booking for a small fee ??!?!? Again, nothing seems like too much trouble..Overall would recommend & the price was fantastic. If we were going back to Crete I would stay here again & pay the extra for the large apartment! Thanks again everyone for a holiday to remember!!!
