  Expected better from TUI will be more careful next time.

  TUI site says free wifi but that is only around the pool. Air conditioning and room wifi and safe for a 2-week stay would cost and extra €250 - maybe less if you do a tax free cash deal. On the last day we worked out how to have a hot shower - run it for at least 10 mins. No hot water in the bathroom sink. Self catering facilities were a joke - see photo - we never managed more than toast and tea. There was only a single socket for the toaster, kettle and portable 2-ring hob with zero work surface, no sharp knife, one coffee mug. We had a sea view across the demolished next door flat but it's a 1.2km walk to the beach. Frequent towel and bedding changes were welcome but the floor was never cleaned and there was no dustpan or brush. The harsh white ceiling lights, bare white walls, no wardrobe or stand for luggage gave it the atmosphere of a prison cell. Loud music around the pool from dawn til dusk - strangely this was the only hotel in Malia to play original artists - every other establishment was playing covers. Again, everything is writer on the official site of tui.You are on holidays. You should not need anything more that a toas and a tea. In a 3-star hotel you cannot expect a kitchen equipped like your home. I do not see anywhere in your magnificent complain to inform the readers about how much you paid for a 2-week holiday. The cost you paid doesn’t really cover the needs you have. If you have that much needs from a, indeed, basic room you should book a 5-star hotel with almost 5 times the price you paid. Expensive enough right?5 Star hotel expectations should be paid.   Amenities you would expect all in price are extras eg aircon €70 safe 35€ WiFi 35€ .Keeping your room on departure day 5€per hour using card payment 1€ All items mentioned in brochure but these prices are excessive. Room state's Kitchenette FULLY EQUIPPED. It has camping hot plate 2rings 1 big pot,1 small frying pan ,kettle. For extras toaster and microwave you have to upgrade your room.,at a further cost. We did ask for a knife, cutting board and 2 extra pots .3days later we got cutting board .The knife was refused outright as Health and safety. As a chef for 40 years I know how to use a knife .On Health and safety Kettle would switch on but not switch off. Missing handle on patio door so won't open.There was a 2"step ledge when opening bathroom door trips you up glass shower wall to fall into.No sink in bathroom it's in main room next to kitchen sink .hairdryer above sink ,not a good idea. This was the only area to prep food .In view of all these comments, we decided not to spend our money and time at this hotel we spent it at a more accommodating hotel. When you do checkout of room check out is 11am,late evening pick up are the norm your luggage can be left in an unsecured room, which is used by people to gain access for using the ladies and Gents toilets which serves the hotel pool and bar. The hotel’s room is indeed fully equipped. The fact that you had preferences for more items is your issue. You had knives in your kitchen but you wanted a bread knife as well. So, if you wanted a knife to cut meat and a full set of knives from Japan, we would have to bring you one? Doesn’t make sense. You had a promotional room with no toaster and microwave and that is exactly what you got. Superiors have microwave and toasters. You hose not to pay extra for a superior room. You did not have microwave and toaster in your room. Easy to understand, I guess. As a chef for 40 years if you wanted to make an Italian pizza in your room we would have to built you a stone oven? Really?The room has been inspected from original health and safety members of each company we cooperate and I do not really think you are one of them. Are you a chef and a health and safety inspector?The checkout worldwide is 11 in the morning as a WorldTravel chef you should know that. You had the option to pay extra to keep your room until your pick-up time but again you chose not to. Easy to understand again, I guess.The luggage room is a public luggage room. What did you expect? A security guard above each luggage?In hotels back in 1970 did you go upon the check in to thereat workers with your reviews on TripAdvisor?It is really fascinating to see that you never mentioned anything that happened upon the check in. You came here threatening us to provide anything you want with no extra charges because you have 4000 friends on TripAdvisor and you will post everything? Do you remember now? If no, that is why We are here, to remind you everything. Exciting right?That is what you do 40 years as a chef as well? Threatening workers for free amenities?Your threats did not have any impact on us so you said “Let’s write a review”. Fair enough!5 Star hotel expectations should be paid.   Few days away exploring Crete

  Last minute end of season get away, I wasn’t expecting much from this hotel because of the reviews. Yeah it was basic and could have done with a better clean but it was fine to sleep, shower and change, we didn’t use cooking facility’s but had your basics to cook if you wanted to…The bar staff and food was really good we ate a few times in the week but went out most of the time exploring the island.I would definitely come back to this hotel it’s a great location 10mins from old town and 15mins to beach, I struggle walking so steps and small inclines can be challenging..

  Pay 190 for getting keys bbq crap cold tv in room 441 did not report it wifi stop after 3 days.
