  Ok Despite everything

  We got our deal by one of sub-agencies to sun hotels to Heraklion. We booked a studio with two rooms, we got two single rooms in a corridor, every room was called a studio and maybe I should checked better. So the kids were sleeping in the other room. We shared corridor with DAMN noisy messy drunk young guys from Country X just the opposite side of my daughters room. After we complained they were removed from the hotel and substituted by other young group from Country Y much more noisy and messy but less drunk than the others. So one week of our two weeks was messed up by bad neighbors and the management agreed and tried to do something about that but it destroyed one week of our vacation unfortunately at nights when we -specially the kids- were tired and wanted to sleep.The pool area is beautiful and nice. The pool is big and clean. The pool closed at 7 pm everyday for cleaning. we had to pay 10 Euro for each room for AC, it means our deal suddenly became 240 Euro (two rooms 12 days) more expensive. and that wasn´t said in the deal. I didn´t check, my bad! but Make sure you check it. we payed 30 Euro extra for having the rooms until 6:30 pm so If you have late flight as we did, you will pay another 30 euro per room.The cleaning lady is nice but the rooms don`t get cleaned everyday (no cleaning on Saturday and Sunday) and the towels and sheets weren´t been changed everyday. No soap or shampoos in the rooms. Sometimes the nice cleaning lady missed to put a toilet paper. But as a person she was very nice and lovely lady. The restroom in the rooms was in lowest quality. The toilet flush didnt work well so he had to change it after we complained a couple of days. the toilet brush was very very dirty. the shower didnt work so he had to bring a plumber to change the shower head and shower. bad luck? I don`t know but the manager fixed that any way. too bad we got such a room in our vacation. No wifi in the rooms. only at the pool.The area is nice, 10 min by car to Heraklion, the beaches are close although not the best beaches in Crete but ok (not so clean beach and wavy water) to have a free beach day. A lot of restaurants some minutes by walk.I will definitely recommend the area and of course Crete to everyone but for the hotel I would recommend to check other options any way.The management are nice and friendly but the accommodation could be much much better. I would say 2 circles for the rooms and 3 for the hotel. we had private transfer to airport and hotel via Sun hotel and worked very well (Special thank to Theodor the taxi driver)The travel experience to Crete decpite everythng I worte way 4 (because of the accomodation otherwise 5).

  Great holiday

  Was there for one week in July and found the accommodation basic but clean, but that's what Greece is. The hosts Georgeio & Zac good company and very good hosts, even spent time showing us how to cook with the traditional wood fired oven as we have one at home and had problems perfecting it. If you want good traditional Greece this is the place. Will be back hopefully soon as we loved it.

  Very basic rooms with one electric ring and kettle both sharing same plug!! Bed hard as rock with paving slabs for pillows, TV not seen one like it in the last 30 yrs and best placed in a skip!! Managed by two brothers Georgio who is pleasant and will try to help and his brother who is a rude and completely unapproachable idiot!! We weren't leaving till 8.30 pm for the airport, offered to pay for a room.... Refused! Some lovely friends offered to let us use their room for a shower and change, given it was 46 degrees and we were melting.. Zac catagorically refused and insisted in putting our case behind the bar so that we could take up our friends offer to use their room for a quick shower!! Very upsetting. Also not allowed to even consume a satsum or packet of crisps by the pool only food provided by the brothers.... Thought this was a self catering hotel???? Disgusting !! Won't be going back anytime soon!!! Quite a walk from the town, pubs and beach!! Will be reporting this hotel to the Greek tourism board!! Not happy!!

  Spent 2 weeks here. the room is small but adequate. the mini kitchen is not really for dedicated self caterers as it would be difficult to cook every day with one ring and a kettle on the same socket - but okay for the occasional meal and snacks. The place is kept beautifully clean and the brothers were most helpful and friendly. the garden and pool is lovely.

  We have just come back from here and can not fault it, the brothers George and Zac go over board to help and make your saty a happy one, they are so easy going and helpful, the rooms are cleaned daily and the pool area is just bliss! the apartments are simple but all you need, 5 minute walk from the beach and its a beautiful beach, The imperial is not expensive at all great value and atmosphere here, my daughter and I loved it and will be going back.
