    Stunning views, mmmmmmm!!!!!

    rating31 Oct 2024

We visited this hotel at the end of the season. We booked it a few weeks before so had a bargain. BUT if you didn't and paid a lot, lot more you might of been disappointed!Good points first. Stunning views, very clean and helpful, hardworking staff. We were greeted late at night by a very polite gentleman, they had laid on food and drink for us all and then took us to our rooms. Our room was big, with a very comfy bed and an amazing view over the bay to Spinalonga.Tea/coffee/kettle and a fridge in your room.Double fitted wardrobe with hangers and a couple of drawers, plenty of space for clothes. The room was cleaned every day with clean towels.(until the end of the week)The pool and sunbeds were very comfortable with again spectacular views. Snacks served all day with tea/coffee,beer and cocktails served in plastic glasses but that's understandable in the pool area. Bar staff all very friendly. The restaurant. Again, fabulous views with very hardworking staff but in our opinion the food was OK,not the best we've ever had. Normal sort of options and at the beginning of the week very plentiful but by the end of the week there was no milk in the coffee machines, no butter and definitely not as much choice. Yes and I understand it's the end of the season but come on!! These are basics. The location of the hotel is half an hour work to Elounda village. But there are no bars/tavernas close by.But perfect if you like it quiet. Now to some of the negatives and I've mentioned the food. But why close the inside bar which I understand by reading previous reviews that is was closed a few weeks ago, when the evenings are much chiller and people want to sit inside. Why not close the pool bar in the evening. So at least people can enjoy your lovely cocktails and a glass of wine in a proper glass. No one is around the pool area. So don't tell us about rules. We were all told off one evening because we had taken glasses from the restaurant area into the inside bar area. Familes and couples just sat quietly chatting and enjoying the hotel drinks. We were told it was the rules!!!And yes they were lots of signs but maybe have a think about why customers were doing this.IF YOU PAID FOR A DRINK AT THE BAR YOU COULD HAVE A GLASS EVEN AROUND THE POOL IN THE DAYTIME. Very, very annoying. I'm sure you have plenty of time to pack away your bar etc now.Another annoying thing was towels. We started off the week with lovely clean dry towels but by the end of the week we would get maybe one and the others would be put outside blowing around in the wind. I am sorry to have to complain but just because it's the end of the season the hotel shouldn't let it's standards slip. Manos Kounalakis, General Manager at Innside By Melia Elounda, responded to this review Dear 898lou,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Elounda Ilion Hotel. We appreciate your valuable insights, and we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the glasses as you mentioned but this was the rule according to Haacp and Iso and all guests followed them with no exceptions as it was mentioned to you too many times and you did not follow the rules according to our files. We cannot make exceptions and the rules to be valid for some guests and for some not. As you stated about the indoor bar this is not true, it was never in operation as it is clearly stated that was depending on weather conditions which do not allow to operate the pool bar. Rules and guidelines are in order to ensure the safety and health of our guests, and this is what we follow in order to keep our visitors healthy in a safe environment. As it is in your country also these have to be followed. As far as the butter concerns we had butter enough. We are professionals and we offer the same services till the last minute, till all guests have checked out.We searched our files and there was anything mentioned from you at all during your stay. We are very sorry for the feelling you had and we never had any complaint from yourside during your stay and even not the day of your check out. At the reception desk when you were asked if everything was ok you just answered that all was ok and there was nothing to complain. If you had any complaint you should just come to the reception and discuss with us in order to find a solution together. Unfortunately after leaving the hotel and never come in to contact with us we cannot help to solve a situation. Our main aim is the guest satisfaction and our guests have nice, restful stay and feel like being home.Nevertheless, we thank you for your time and for your opinion, and hopefully we can still convince you through our offer and services. Hospitality is our top priority.Best regards,Guest Relation Team

    Great week

    rating30 Oct 2024

Just got home from a week in the illion elunda.its was a lovely sunny week the views are spectacular. The staff can't do enough for you.special thanks to Albert and Gregory the barman.its on a hill so you need to be healthy. Elounda is 45 mins walk or 2 euros on the bus or 10 by taxi.when we arrived at midnight we used the phone at the bottom of the hill. The night man came and collected us and our luggage. We were given food and drink then taken to our room where he carried both our cases to our room.food was good but as the hotel was closing things weren't as plentiful. Which is to be expected as there was only a few of us left on last couple of days.we would still recommend it .thanks to everyone Michael and linda. Very enjoyable

    rating24 Oct 2024

Hotel in a great position, view of the bay is fantastic. Staff friendly and helpful, bar staff especially very good. Room was comfortable with a fantastic sea view. Would have given 5 except food ,although very tasty was never more than luke warm and lot of meals food was cold. Did mention but not acted upon. Maybe a microwave or 2 would help. Manos Kounalakis, General Manager at Innside By Melia Elounda, responded to this review Dear maximus62,Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us at Elounda Ilion Hotel. We as a hotel follow the rules of Haacp and Iso so there is a specific temperature that meals should be out at the buffet. If you would like them more hot you could ask at the restaurant to help you with this issue Sir. We hope to welcome you back soon!Best Regards,Guest Relations Team

Relaxing tranquil hotel with stunning views

    rating22 Oct 2024

What a find this hotel is. Absolutely stunning views right across to Spinalonga and Elounda Bay. Arrived at night, and staff on arrival were courteous, helpful and friendly, which definitely set the scene for the holiday…such a calming tranquil place. Food outstanding quality, and the whole hotel including dining areas, rooms and poolside spotlessly clean. We booked this as a last minute holiday, but feel really fortunate to have found this gem. The staff are friendly, professional, create a friendly and calm atmosphere…and Eva (?) even taught me a little bit of Greek! We would love to revisit this lovely hotel. Beautiful Views over the bay, this is the only wow factor, a clean value hotel with pleasant staff on a steep hill

    rating20 Oct 2024

Beautiful views over Elounda Bay, very clean, pleasant staff, the food was nice but is repeated over and over the same type of food, gets a bit boring after a week. You need to be fit to stay here, the walk up to it from the road is very steep and there are flights of steps to access everything. There is no entertainment at all, just one bar with a little piped background music, so if you want a reasonably inexpensive, quiet week away and don’t have high expectations then this is a place for you, I would say 3 star not 4. Manos Kounalakis, General Manager at Innside By Melia Elounda, responded to this review Dear Mr. Gary S,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Elounda Ilion Hotel. We appreciate your valuable insights, and we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the repeating meals as you mentioned, but this is not true Sir as we do cook every day different meals and we cannot understand the repeating meals as you mentioned. Maybe you meant that had meat daily or pasta etc., but this is not repeating when it is cooked or boiled with different ingredients which immediately makes it another meal. As far as entertainment concerns we are a small hotel that keeps quiet atmosphere for the guests with music from the bar to enjoy the view to the sea from our wonderful pool and restaurant terrace. We searched our files and there was anything mentioned from you at all during your stay. We are very sorry for the feelling you had and we never had any complaint from yourside during your stay and even not the day of your check out.
