Location

The aparthotel complex is situated literally a breath away from the sandy beach of Agía Marínam, offering a breathtaking view over the Cretan Sea. It is also located close to the city of Chania (8 km) and the most remarkable beaches of the northern coast such as those in Chrissí Aktí, Àgii Apóstoli, Káto Stalós and Plataniás. In addition, it is situated in close proximity, namely 10 min, of the motorway connecting Chania to Réthimno and Kíssamos granting easy and fast access to the neighbouring prefectures and many scenic villages and pristine beaches of Chania. Links to the public transport network are some 300 m away. Chania International Airport is situated at a distance of approximately 22 km.

Facility

88 apartments and 49 studios are available to guests in a 9-storey main building and an auxiliary building. This apartment hotel has a lift and a 24-hour reception desk. A baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service and a hotel doctor. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, central heating and a fan. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. Rooms include a double bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. For self-catering guests, there is a well-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are provided. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked.

Sport

The outdoor pool area is an ideal place to relax and recharge. There are 2 pools for children. Sun loungers and parasols are available on the sun terrace. Refreshing drinks are served at the poolside snack bar. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, crazy golf and horse riding are available. With snorkelling or, for a fee, water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, kayaking and diving available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and billiards. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna and massage treatments. Subject to charge: a spa. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme.

Meals

Dining facilities include a breakfast room and a bar. The restaurant has air conditioning and high chairs for children. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Dinner options include a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction. For guests, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included.

    Pleasant hotel but not quite 4 star standard

    We spent a week at this hotel. We had a room on the 4th floor accross the road from the beach but had a nice sea view. The room was large and we had a fridge, kettle and cooking facilities even though we were all inclusive. The fridge was useful to keep drinks cold. The beds were clean and very comfortable. There are 2 pools and even though there are signs everywhere saying you cannot reserve loungers some people chose to ignore this and staff didn't remove their towels. We never had a problem getting a lounger though on our side of the hotel, the beach side pool was always over crowded with no free loungers. You have to pay for sun loungers on the beach though. The food was just acceptable , not always to our taste but they have guests from all over the world so have to cater for all tastes even though some seemed like odd choices. The food wasnt very warm though.There are 2 bars during the day on either side of the road, and after the evening meal there is only the beach bar open.as it was the end of the season there was only entertainment one night. The local area did not have any bars open with music or entertainment either so we played yahtzee whilst sat in the bar. There are 2 tvs in the rooms but no English channels so no good for us to watch. All in all it's a nice hotel and 2 staff were so nice and friendly. Stallos (i think that's his name ) in the pool bar was always cheerful and knew my favourite drink, our cleaner was very chatty and nice but we forgot her name. A couple of young girls in the main restaurant were lovely but one always dressed in all black was quite rude at times. There is a local bus to take you into chania costing 2 euro but they herd you in like cattle so much so that you struggle to get off at your stop coming back. We did a trip on the little train and it was well worth the 22 euro each for the 3.5 hour trip just for the scenery and to learn some history of the local area. We fancied a boat trip but unfortunately we didn't manage to book one.     A good break

    We stayed at the iolida beach for a week, there was two adults & a 10 year old! All in all we had a fab break! The hotel is split in two halves connected by a bridge over the main road! Our room needed abit of updating & tlc however it was absolutely spotless as is the rest of the hotel! The pools are clean & well maintained there were no issues with getting sunbeds!Location of hotel is good, 17 euros each way in a taxi to Chania, the old town is stunning! However alot of bars/shops close to hotel have closed due to end if the season! We hired a car for two days arranged by the hotel & went out to lake kournas & also falassarni beach both worth a visit and within an hours drive from hotel!! The weather is very unpredictable however thats the risk you take travelling in winter & no way a reflection on the hotel!!The all inclusive is not bad! The cocktails are nice the bar staff are lovely! Food is generally good, under seasoned at times but hot & lots of variety, breakfast was our favourite meal of the day!!There is basically food available all day while all the inclusive runsin both sides of the hotel which is fab. The all inclusive does finish when you check out at 12:00 so if you have a late flight thats not ideal!!There is no entertainment which suited us!! The hotel is quiet and has a relaxed vibe about it!Reception staff are friendly and helpful we had an issue with a broken door handle it was fixed within a few hours! Would i say this hotel is a 4 star? Probably not more like a 3 but we enjoyed our stay!     This was my 2nd visit to this wonderful hotel. Staff are amazing, helpful and go the extra mile for you. Food was awesome once again and the hotel itself very clean and spacious on a lovely Sandy beach with great snorkelling and water activities around. Definitely going back and my family loved it and want to go back too. Thank you once again for a wonderful relaxing week.     Nice weather shame about the hotel

    I have been to Crete before but it was my first time in Chania. Even though I clearly specified my requirements to the Jet2 agent over the phone with what I needed and the type of holiday I was given the location here. The food is basic and lacked flavour/seasoning. The only healthy option was having salad and fruit. Hotel chocolate drink was not including in breakfast so each time I had to pay 4.5 euros. The hotel was in two parts - the other building near the reception was in much better condition. There was so much noise from the cleaners and other guests with screaming children. The parents let their kids run wild. If you have come here to relax and have a lie in this place isn't for you. After having a massage I was in so much pain the next day. I just think that people who work in tourism and hospitality here don't really want to be here. I didn't feel welcomed. Even at the bar I was told a drink had alcohol in there each time I ordered a drink - I wouldn't be asking for a cocktail if I didn't drink. I feel that the hotel doesn't have many people from ethnic backgrounds and guests who are vegetarian. I think maybe I will try going to mainland Greece.     What can I say about this hotel but one of the best I've stayed in the rooms were spotless loved the towel animals the maids left every day also nice touches like a free bottle of wine n fruit .the food in the restaurant was brilliant different every day loved the potatoes the staff were brilliant especially the waiters n waitresses they were on the ball when it came to tidying up the pool was good and it was great they had a bridge to the beach .the room we had was brilliant awesome view .there were a few niggles tho the soft drinks were some time flat n the Internet went down with 2 days to go n we could not get it back n that was bad as the tv was a Google tv besides that I had a amazing time would recommend this hotel to anyone n im def coming back SMILE HOTELS , Owner at Iolida Beach, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,Thank you very much for choosing to stay in Iolida Beach Resort and bringing your lovely rating and review to our attention.
