Location

This hotel is situated in the heart of Rethymnon city and 5 min away from the historical and picturesque Old Town. All of its buildings and the environment create a unique atmosphere with ancient and traditional architecture. The Venetian harbour and Forteza castle are just 300 m away and restaurants and bars are in close proximity. Souda Airport and Nikos Kazantzákis Airport are 65 km and 75 km away respectively.

Facility

70 non-smoking rooms are located on 5 storeys and can be reached by 2 lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities available at the resort include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. Further services and facilities include a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms feature a kitchen and a bathroom, and individually adjustable heating ensures just the right temperature. Guests can relax on the balcony or terrace. Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. A hot tub can soothe sore muscles (for a fee). A variety of activities are available at the resort, for example beach volleyball and volleyball or, for a fee, cycling/mountain biking and tennis. With kayaking or, for a fee, water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, snorkelling, diving, water aerobics and aquafit available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. The resort offers a range of indoor sporting activities, for example a gym, table tennis, billiards and squash. The complex offers a range of facilities in the wellness area. Options include a spa and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme (for a fee).

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant (with high chairs), a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A continental breakfast guarantees a great start to the day. Lunch is served as à la carte, and guests can choose between a buffet and a set menu for dinner. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The resort also offers special catering options. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    An absolute gem of a hotel. Not only was it modern, clean, with everything you might need from a hotel, the staff were really helpful and it is in a great location.Without a doubt, I wouldn't hesitate stopping here again.

    Location, location location 💚 Really enjoyed our stay at Jo-An hotel, the staff are lovely & rooms very clean. Ideally placed to visit all of Rethymno on foot, so many cafes, bars & shops nearby and the old town literally 5mins away

    On arrival we thought it was lovely . Entered the lift with suitcases and grubby and unkempt. Room back ogmf hotel and it was very basic and small , bathroom smelt fusty and could hardly open the door which got stuck on hand basin . Nothing like the picture on Web page . We checked out as for 2 weeks could not manage here . Hall way carpet had seen better days . Food basic and limited choice . Really disappointed as we've been coming to reythmnon for years . Totally mis leading as it looks like it's been re vamped definitely needs it ! You do not get what the website page says and this was booked with jet 2 !

    Lovely central hotel with incredibly helpful staff especially the ladies on reception. Athena In the dining area and her young colleagues are a delight. We had no issues with the room, its size or the choices of food. If you are looking for a hotel with some character and guests of mixed nationalities it's a real gem.

    Travelled with Jet2 to this hotel. Check in was straightforward with a friendly and helpful receptionist. The double room allocated was quite small but adequate for a solo traveller although it was lacking in storage space. There was a rail with 5 hangers for clothes and no drawers so not really suitable for more than one person. The room had a fridge and also a safe. The safe was charged at 2 euros per day which I think should be included in the room as it is classed as a four star hotel. I was also disappointed to find there was no kettle in the room. The room details on the website do advertise a kettle so this needs to be addressed. Again, as a four star hotel, some of the basic facilities seemed to be lacking. The bed was very comfortable and everywhere was very clean. Linen changed after 3 days and towels about the same. The bathroom was very modern, great shower and toiletries were supplied as well as slippers and a bathrobe. I was half board but chose not to eat dinner there, apart from one evening, as there are so many authentic Greek restaurants in the town. Breakfasts were very good with a big choice of hot and cold food. The dinner I had was not really Greek food and not very hot, so pleased I was able to eat out.There is a lovely roof top area with sunbeds. Not sure how easy it was to get sun beds as I dont normally do much sun bathing and prefer to be out and about.The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the start of the old town so it is ideal for getting around. There are some very reasonable trips in the town to the south of the island, which I would recommend.Overall I had a lovely week in Rethymnon and would not hesitate to use the hotel again. The location is great and the staff were always helpful and friendly. As to the rating, due to the lack of some basic ameneties I would only give this a 3 star rating.
