  Great experience in this cave/mine establishment.

  We stayed in this very nice boutique hotel for one night as part of our road trip through Australian outback. We were surprised as the hotel was very neat and tidy, being a simple comfort inn. Rooms are within a cave/mine and naturally are very cool and fresh. Interestingly, the non occupied rooms remain open due to the environment being natural cave/mine. Rooms are nicely decorated, spacious and have everything you may expect from an mid class hotel. Comfy beds as well. Hotel is very easily reachable from the highway and there are some local restaurants a short drive away. There is also a nice sitting area outside of hotel to enjoy a book or a glass of wine outside. Recommended!

  Smelt of bleach and very dated!

  As soon as we walked into reception there was a terrible smell of bleach! I asked the receptionist what the smell was and she said it was bleach as they were very fussy about the cleanliness of the place. That was total rubbish as what they were trying to cover up was a water leak that had dampened the carpet down the hallway from reception. I found this out as I was walking around in bare feet trying to find out why the smell was so bad and found my feet were wet. They also had dehumidifiers working all day and night trying to dry the carpet out. The room was very dated, bed uncomfortable, TV not working as apparently too difficult to get reception underground. There was also a terrible sewerage smell in the carpark so not sure what that was about! We were booked in for 2 nights but only stayed one night as the smell of bleach was so strong I was tasting it in my throat. We checked into the Cave for our 2nd night for only a little bit more and had a much more comfortable time with no stinky bleach smell. When I informed reception that we were checking out early due to the smell she asked us if we had found somewhere to stay. I told her yes and where we were staying to which she replied, good luck with that. I informed our travel agent who tried to get a refund for us, to no avail. This place was by far the worst we stayed at in our 3 and 1/2 weeks of travel in Ozzie. We had 7 stops in all.

  Room 9, closest to reception, is hot, with no detectable ventilation from small pvc pipe hole in the ceiling. Room shares a thin wooden partition wall with reception, so noisy early, and can hear slamming entrance door. Rooms deeper underground reported by fellow travellers as cooler, with better ventilation, I was unable to switch second night, told motel full. I asked if anything could be done about the smell and lack of air. Rude Reception woman was rude and used the phrases, “If you don’t like it leave”, and “I don’t care”, in back to back sentences. PS, don’t be fooled by the Comfort Motel sign. It is not connected with the Hotel chain.

  It's peaceful underground...

  Unfortunately, we got in late and had to leave early, so we didn't get the full experience of this motel.The kids loved the idea of sleeping underground, and this place did not disappoint. The room was spacious, and our teen scored a small room off the main bedroom to himself, which was great. A small kitchenette with a microwave was much appreciated after our extremely long drive down, so we did not have to go out for dinner.The beds were so comfortable, probably one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in when we've been away, and we are probably going to stay here again on our way back home because of this.We had a very peaceful and restful night and would highly recommend.

  An excellent experience. A great hotel with awesome staff.From walking in to leaving the staff were really interested in you and making your stay great.The toilet was dripping and room change was made immediately without making you feel like you whinging.Advice on where to get a flat tyre fixed where you wouldn’t get ripped off.Comfortable bed, pillows. All great and recommend highly. Great location.
