  Excellent access suitable for all

  We are now just leaving Hotel Lola. This is a lovely family run hotel which is well situated just off the Main Street but far away enough that noise is not a concern. The beach is also equidistant and only about a minute walk with many beach bars and sun loungers whichever way you go. The bus is quite literally up the road if you’d prefer to see more of the island on a budget alternatively car/scooter rental is easily accessible also. The couple that run this hotel are to the point and friendly without being too in your face. The pool is lovely and clean. Rooms are nice and clean, AC works very well. Balconies are lovely to sit on and in just chill out of an evening. Everything is provided in terms of kitchen equipment including a kettle for those of us that love a cuppa tea of a morning! Ypi can easily make a nice albeit basic meal which is all you need from a kitchenette when you’re on your holidays. I would actually recommend this hotel to anyone that wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful with nice clean rooms which when you’re on holiday is all you need.

  Great bargain holiday

  We were the last guests of the season, so the complex was lovely and quiet. The apartment was tiny but clean and adequate for what we wanted, and ideally situated in the resort for many bars and restaurants, and also the beach. The only thing we didn’t like was the hand held shower, but we managed, and it didn’t spoil the holiday!

  I would not recomend anyone staying here. At check-out the hotels card terminals didnt work. We were accused for being fruads and yelled at. When they finally got the terminal working and we paid, my girlfriend Said that this kind of behavior is unacceptable, this was not taken nicely, and my girlfriend was hit by Hotel Staff.

  We have just got back from a 2 week stay.... we changed our hotel to Lola at the last minute and we are really pleased we did. Every description we read matched. It was clean, air conditioning was a dream and everyone was lovely and friendly (yes, even the owner who we had seen reviewers describe as “grumpy”... we found he had a dry sense of humour and was hilarious!) Hotel always felt quiet, we had good access to the pool and bar (opens at 11-ish, bar chap very friendly and accommodating, food and drinks very reasonably priced)...if you want anything earlier go the main strip of shops/bars/restaurants, they are minutes away from this great located place. Beach also minutes away. Don’t think twice just book it!

  So my girlfriend and me visited this place a few times for a lunch on the go, service and bartender is excellent and very kind. We have lived here in platanias for a few weeks and eaten our fair share of pizza in Crete and I have to say. In this backstreet restaurant they make the best pizza in platanias by far! Lagre portions with lots if extras and the bartender to top it of the whole sitdown is a very pleasant experience.We did not stay in the hotel and cant by those means recommend the hotel in its self but the food and the service was so great we had to share the experience Sincere Henrik Wilsgaard from Norway 😊
