    This was such a beautiful and thoroughly relaxing hotel with a charm that you would struggle to find anywhere else. The location is also ideal- 20 minutes to the old town and 20 minutes to a beautiful cove beach or 5 minutes to an even nearer beach with a nice green walk where you can see the sunset and turtles hatch if you’re lucky (I did twice, 5 minutes from this hotel). Staff were helpful and kind. Feel well-rested from this holiday long after I got back.

    I wish I could give it six stars. We had a spacious and cozy room with a comfortable bed, fridge, convenient bathroom, place for the luggage, and everything else that just could be needed. The family running the hotel is so super nice, welcoming and helpful! Our talks with the lady and her son (?) are one of the best impressions. It is the classic family-run hotel with all its advantages if you like such type of hotels: it really felt like coming back home! I was also really impressed by the pool: it is really very big for such a small hotel (I would say it suites a 4**** or 5***** hotel), very clean, and it was very nice to use it before going to the sea of after it, as the water in the pool was at the time of our visit warmer than the sea water. The garden is maintained well, the room was clean, the sea is just in 5 minutes of walk along a picturesque farm, there are pretty many good cafes and restaurants nearby. I liked some small details like showers on the way from the beach and near the pool (exactly where you need them). I strongly recommend this hotel.

    We had two comfortable and clean rooms with balcony an a wonderful view over the green garden and pool area. The family who runs the hotel are only sooo nice and helpful and generous. Close to the local beach with a nice beach taverna, we could not have a better stay. Thank you!

    This hotel is ideally located for the beaches and facilities of Rethymno. There is a very large pool and garden. Pool is very clean and perfectly maintained. During our stay the pool was very quiet and others did join it still felt exclusive as there are plenty of sun beds. Next to the pool there’s a tennis court. The rooms were spacious and well cleaned. The owners were extremely kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Overall it was a great experience.

    We visited Hotel Mantenia for the first time a year ago. It is a little jewel.The owners of the hotel are awesome, friendly, extremely helpful and incredibly nice.The hotel is very clean and has this incomparable location close to the empty beach. Small walk to restaurants in the evening to Planatias/Rethymno. Also, the hotel has a beautiful garden and fruits are part of the breakfast when in season.Attention: If you are looking for all inclusive, buffets with queues and sterile atmosphere, you are wrong here.For us it was and is the best we have seen and fully tailored to our needs: small, fine and personal.
