  Lovely summer stay

  My friend and I stayed at Maria’s suites for 5 nights over the end of June/early July. The apartment was great a nice little kitchenette with appliances and the all important air conditioning in the bedroom. Two balconies which were great for having lunch/reading. It was all extremely clean, maid service every day bar Sunday. The pool was a good size and lots of choice of sun beds. Maria is a fantastic host and always there to help if you need anything, she also has the most adorable cat which roams around. The location is just a short couple of minutes walk until you reach all the shops/transportation options/the beach.Thank you Maria for a lovely stay.

  Incredibly comfortable & central for food

  We stayed nearby last year and walked past this small complex, which looked so inviting. This year we made a point of booking it for 12 days. Met on arrival by Maria's husband we were shown to an incredibly clean comfortable apartment with views front and back. Two balconies with chairs and tables, really high quality fitments. All very clean!! I cannot emphasise how clean everything was. There was daily maid service. On a morning we could see the maid cleaning down the sunbeds, brushing around the pool and generally making everything spotless.The pool was a good size and Maria told us that this winter they are retiling it and changing the colour, though it was perfectly good we thought.Enough quality sunbeds for everyone, and sun hitting most of the pool area all the time, but with lots of shade under the trees if you want it.Places to eat abound in this area, with at least ten restaurants within easy walking distance. All excellent with traditional Cretan food, welcoming hosts and friendly staff. All gave either a free pudding or fruit at the end with generous servings of Raki and Ouzo.

  A simple pleasant stay

  I had a very pleasant week-long stay at Maria suites. We had a one bedroom suite, with a beautiful view of the pool, Cretan hills in the distance, and the sea. The suite was on the small side, but very clean, fresh, and tastefully decorated. Maria, the owner, was absolutely lovely. She was very responsive by email in the lead up to the stay, and when we had requests during the stay. She gifted us a large bottle of water at checkin and corrected an error made during booking (which I hadn't noticed and would have overpayed). The pool seemed very clean and it was good to see it cleaned during our stay. The hotel is located a 3 min walk from the central square of Platanias, which has a taxi rank, a bus stop, and a supermarket. (Platanias itself is a lively tourist town, with lots of restaurants and shops.) The only small negatives were that the linens, while very clean, felt a little worn out, the lighting was a bit stark, and we had a night without a/c because of electricity issues in Platania's (outside of owner's control). Overall, we had a great stay at a reasonable value during peak travel season. I highly recommend it.

  Amazing!!!

  We stayed in room nr 9 from 30st of August- 6th of September. We were absolutely delighted with everything - great location ( 3 min walk to Platanias Square and 4 min to the beach), very clean, great balconies and beautiful, clean swimming pool. Apartments are based near night life, but because the hotel is off the main street, it was very quiet and peaceful. Maria and cleaning lady were absolutely fantastic and helped us with all they could.We would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay there again.

  Beautiful location

  We are here now and live thia place. The apartment is spotless with a beautiful pool area. Maria is very friendly and helpful. It's in a great location on the edge of Platanias so quiet but near to restaurants and shops. It's a very relaxing place and made a great Base for touring round the area. Hope we can come back. Thank you Maria.
