  Money well spent! We had an amazing week in Mitsis Bali. Beautiful scenery, breathtaking views form main restaurant and the pool, lovely food, both in main restaurant and separate Cretan and Italian restaurants. Although decor in those last two a little disappointing- very clean but bare and without character (even few plants would make the difference). Newly refurbished main lounge, reception and pool area absolutely fabulous. But some rooms still outdated and in need of renovation. Staff extremely nice and friendly- especially reception staff- welcoming and kind, always happy to help, pool bar- best ever decaf latte from Christos and drinks form always smiling Jeff, evening bar- Marta, Maria- fastest drinks mixers, probably extremely tired at the end of season but always smiling and kind. Staff in the dinning area also very efficient, kind and smiling. Main chef- very kind and always available for help with my gluten free diet. The ONLY thing we did not like was the French entertaining team- they had almost no interest in other then french guests, they seemed to entertain themselves most of the time and we were tempted to to ask them to put the microphone down occasionally- one of the girls was constantly humming with the microphone on, having what seems like, a constant private karaoke session. People at the pool were subjected to constant noise, laughs, and bad singing. Microphone on during all activities. No relaxing at the pool for anybody. PLEASE switch the microphone off sometimes!I understand the hotel's response was that it does not have it's own entertainment team and it is actually a team hired by a French travel agency to entertain their own guests, but that's even worse! English is not my first language either but I understand that in a hotel full of guest from different countries you have an English speaking entertainment team or non at all. Especially that their presence is so overwhelming. I would give 5 stars to this review if it was not for this, because apart form that we had an amazing holidays- very happy with our stay and will definitely be back!   Great stay however could be better

  My honest opinion is;On arrival was very much welcomed and was given our key. Had a beautiful sea view room that we paid for.Room- bed was very comfy, we had a newly refurbished room. Bottles of water in room on arrival. Blanket in the cupboard. Bathroom was a great size, however the shower hose did not reach the holder properly so made showering difficult but we had a bath so was ok. Cleaned every day!Food- breakfast was your standard buffet style, sausage, bacon and eggs, pancakes, beans, pastries, toast. Lunch- standard all inclusive style, was always something to eat, great chips, salad bar was very basic compare to other 4* no pickles or anything.Dinner- was basically the same as lunch so become very boring.I do recommend booking the creatan restaurant and Italian. Italian was our favourite and was great! Make sure you book before you travel! Pool bar - great selection off drinks! Jeff was amazing and always knew our order. Always smiling and laughing!! Was a queue. Open to 6pm.Pools are great size! Was really cold but you do get use to it. If you don't get a sunbed early then you will more then likely not get one. One day we had to sit in chairs. There is a load of sunbeds however it can be difficult to get one!Pools towels don't come out to 11.30 and we didn't have any in our room. We did ask for one and was told they had run out for the day.Entertainment- it's basically non existent if you are english! We was never included! The evening entertainment was all in French and couldn't understand anything. We sat around playing cards so make sure you have a pack. Linda one of the reps did try to include English people however this was a very big let down for a 4*!Evening bar- always a queue, we waited one evening for 15 minutes, we ended up ordering 4 drinks. Bar staff was trying their hardest.There is a pool room with some games. Tennis court and football court, outside gym weights and ping pong.We also found a church on the complex which looked new.Slides- great few slides, no swimming pool down there.Beach- free sun loungers, but you do need to get down there early. Snacks and ice cream and drinks are from a bar down there which is a great touch.Some lovely bars near the beach area! Nostos was great!The hotel is located in a quiet fishing village, with a few shops and bars. You can walk to the port which is about 15-20min away however is very hilly. There is a train that runs every hour and is £5 return. Highly recommend the harbour cafe.We did do the pirate ship, which stops at caves and takes you to Rethymnon and stops on way back to a bay. £50 euro per person and is a great day out.We also done the quad safari which again is an amazing morning out where you go the caves.I feel that the entertainment really lets the hotel down. I don't feel this is a 4* hotel and would say it's more of a high 3*. We personally wouldn't return to this hotel due to a quiet area. We did feel we was treated different due to be English.I also don't feel this hotel is appropriate if you are a wheelchair user or have struggles with walking.We was told the hotel is working its way to a 5*!Great holiday, very relaxing!   Lovely and relaxing but could be better

  Liked - 1: Sea room room had a fabulous view and was clean, cool and comfortable with sheets and towels changed daily by lovely cleaner. 2: The main pool (there are 2) although small c20m was well kept and lovely to swim in. Plenty of sun beds and chairs and each had a table. ( might be over busy in high summer).3: Good pool towel change system and no early reservations allowed and this was well managed by guests. 4:The breakfast and lunch choices were good but not excellent but had mussels, duck, pork and lamb over the week and the meat was good.5: The hard working barman Jeff who was in the pool bar in the day and lounge bar in the evening and worked so hard constantly tidying and making sure the tables were cleaned. 6: Beautiful gardensDid not like - 1:The evening meal choices. Same as lunch and felt luck it was kept ' from lunch'. A good reason to eat out ! 2:Dining room crazy busy and noisy . 3:THE BAR - evening bar was not well managed at all . At times, I saw 35 plus people queing at the bar - not enough lounge seating - no waiter drinks service so everyone queing which would be cured by seating people and a waiter service.4: No management of situations - for example afternoon rain and no one wiped the outdoor seating down to dry it so over 2 hours later still no where to sit in the evening and so overcrowded in the lounge bar. 5:On arrival, at 11pm only offered 1 x ham roll wrapped in cling film. Very poor! 6:The FRAM team. French animateurs basically constantly just messing about trying to push each other in the pool or shouting into a microphone whilst playing the odd game.7:The strong smell of drains on arrivalThis was my 3rd Mitsis stay but this was not I felt, as professionally managed as the others in Crete / Rhodes. The hotel is in a great location though and has a great buggy system for helping people up the hill from the village.   We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The buffet offered a wide variety of fresh and tasty food every day, and the desserts were amazing. There were plenty of sun loungers by the pool, so relaxing was never a problem.The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The drink bar was great too – a good range of cocktails including classics like Mojito, Piña Colada, and Whiskey Sour. The bartenders made the experience even better with their great energy and conversation.Highly recommended – we’d love to come back!
