Stayed for 5 days at this hotel and it was the most relaxing hotel ever. The guys are all really friendly and will do anything to help. Breakfast was really good and buffet style. All the usual meat and cheese, breads, yoghurt and fruit. the best feta cheese I’ve ever tasted. And the most delicious pastries. Pool was clean and no fights for the loungers, always somewhere to sit. The only issue we had was the hill that it’s on, I had no problems with it but my 77 year old mum did, bus stop and supermarket at the bottom of steep hill and have to walk up it when you get back. And then there’s lots of steps up to the hotel reception and then up to the rooms if you’re on the 2nd floor. Definitely not for people with walking issues but if you don’t have issues this is the perfect place for a relaxing time

Spent one week at this hotel with my daughter.I have to say it is a true gem.Family run, the hospitality is second to none. Nothing is too much. Kostas, Harri and family are so welcoming and friendly.They willingly help with trips and advising places to travel.The rooms are modern and comfortable with a fridge.Lovely sea view.Pool is clean, always loungers available. Breakfast is varied each day and excellent quality with best homemade pastries. Refreshed continually with fresh hot food.Lunch and evening meals available at very reasonable rates. Drinks very reasonably priced available all day.Hotel is located up a short hill with supermarkets few mins away and local beach less then 10mins away.Bus every 30 mins 2 euros to Panomor or Rethymnon.Highly recommend and we would return.

Booked for one weeks Half Board inc flights from Bristol to Chania return via 'On the Beach', mid June 2025. Spotless small Family owned Hotel with Bar, Terrace, Air Con & Pool. Friendly owners & Staff, Buffet Breakfast & Dinner daily, all fresh. Superb value, most other guests German nationals during our stay. As we love to get out & about daily using Google Maps a modest hire car essential for us. Excellent value Hotel, gorgeous area, recommended !

Amazing views of the sea.

What a brilliant family run hotel, brothers Harry and Costa did everything possible to make our stay perfect. The rooms were clean and maintained daily, the Breakfast, Lunch and dinner buffets were plentiful with lots of choice and tasted amazing and the tables were kept clear by our waitress the delightful and ever smiling Maria.The pool area was perfect and always quiet during our visit. A bus stops every 30 minutes (when on time) and will take you to Heraklion one way or Rethymnon the other for 2 Euros per Journey and stops at the bottom of the road to the hotel.Please note that there is quite a steep road up to the hotel which would not suit the old or infirm, however there is a small car park around the back if you are driving, also Harry or Costa are more than happy to drive down the short road and pick you up. On the plus side of this, the hotel is purched on the side of the hill and affords great views of the sea.

A gem of a place

This hotel is a gem. Sea views, spotlessly clean, family owned and run. Good home cooked food, rooms cleaned daily...the lust goes on. Harry and Costa and their family are warm and welcoming and are always ready to help. The pool is perfect too. If you want loud music and kids dive bombing un rhe pool this us not for you, but if you eant to stay in a small hotel where you feel more like extended family than guests, this hotel is perfect. It does have a lot of steps to the entrance, but they have parking round the back if steps are are difficult for you.
