  Traditional Greek B&B in a unique and stunning location

  Lovely B&B hotel right on the beach in beautiful Paleochora. Booked this for just the two of us for a few days off sun (much needed as UK is having its worst summer) and we loved our stay here. We’re here for the location and weather so the room may not be bougie but had all we needed. We booked side sea view and 1st floor. Glad we weren’t on ground floor as you get no outdoor space with your room. En-suite was good, wardrobe, dresser, tv, fridge and Wi-Fi throughout. Fan cooking was good as it didn’t dry you out like AC does. Breakfast is continental hams and cheeses, yoghurt and fresh fruit, juices, teas and coffee, pastries and boiled eggs with variety of breads. Get down before 10am though as they stop topping it all up. There’s a water cooler so although there’s no food served during the day, you can refill your water anytime if you need a break from the beach. Staff are lovely and there’s little interaction, you don’t need it. Everything is just done. Rooms cleaned daily. You can sit out on the terrace at breakfast and listen to the waves roll in. Parking is roadside and free but first come first served. A supermarket is 100m to the left of the hotel and it’s got everything you could need. The beach is amazing and the orange dumbed and umbrella are just €4 euro per day for 2 beds if staying here. Half price!   Going south

  Things are going south with this hotel. As other people writes in their review a simple hot shower can be a challenge. Sun beds now comes with a price - another little plus turned into a minus.Furthermore - and even worse - the whole hotel emits a nerve wracking vacuum hover like noise from the hopeless inefficient A/C installation. We have been coming here for decades but this stay might be the last. You simply can find rest from the constant vacuum hover sound. I am sorry to read that this stay was not as expected.We would like to inform you that we have a brand new A/C Unit which is working very well, however as this new machine is srtronger than the one before it created a noise from the water circulation. Unortunately it took us a few days to figure it out and solve it. It is now fixed .I Do appologize for the inconvinience that this caused.As for the sunbeds and ombrellas, we used to have them for free for our guests however in the last few years the cost for us has increased and we have decided to offer it for half the price for our guests.I do hope that this will not be your last stay with us and we look forward to welcome you back in order to create a better stay next time.Thank you again for the feedbackRegardsPolydoros Markoulakis

  Great Location…..but

  We stayed in one of the most expensive rooms the Panoramic Sea View Suites as we wanted the sea-view from our room… the location was just perfect opposite the sandy beach and close to the centre of the town, the bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows and the bedding was lovely too. The bedroom was spacious and there was also plenty of space in the living room if you wanted to watch TV. The breakfast was adequate, if very repetitive and we liked the fact that we were able to take our breakfast back to our room so we could eat it looking out at that lovely view. We were slightly disappointed with the quality of the room…reading that it was recently renovated we expected a higher standard, basically the rooms had had a cheap refit, the old bath tub still remained as well as the old tiles and shower unit and shower curtain as well as the old tired dark wood sliding door. There was no privacy on the balcony which could have been easily fixed by putting up a privacy screen. We had a problem with no hot water in the mornings….I reported this to reception who said they would sort it, unfortunately they didn’t so we never had a warm or hot shower in the morning during our stay ! However there was plenty of hot water in the evenings. The hotel also has its own orange sun loungers on the beach opposite, these I had assumed would be free, but we’re only available to guests at a 50% discount.The front reception staff were friendly and helpful and on check in we were given lots of useful information about the area.Would we stay again? No not paying the amount we had to for the Panoramic Sea View Suites…they are too expensive for what they are offering. Polydoros Markoulakis, Owner at Hotel Pal Beach, responded to this review Greetings from Paleochora ,Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback .First of all we apologise for any inconveninece that the lack of hot water in the morning caused .As we discussed at the reception when you informed us .The plumber was informed and the problem was fixed but unfortunately not during your three day stay as you mentioned.We rely on the local workers for such repairs and they are very few and usually very busy especially in the begining of the season when you visited.We realise that it is not much of a consolation to you so we do apologose for that .The sunbeds and the umbrellas are 50% discounted for our guests as you noted. This information is stated on online platforms like the one you used for the booking .Also information like room descriptions on our website and on other online plattforms give info about the various room types but we do not state that the room type that you stayed in is renovated.However the Side sea view suite are .As a two star hotel we offer an enriched continental buffet and unforunately we do not have room service so breakast in the room is not an option.The outside yard and the dinning room area behind the reception is open for the Guests for the breakfast .We appreciate your insights and hope to be able to accommodate you again in the future ,it was a pleasure to have you stay with us .

  Stunning location. Poor customer service.

  The location is perfect. Paleochora is amazing and I would highly recommend if you’ve never been. This was our 5th visit, but the first time at Hotel Pal Beach. I wouldn’t go to this property again.The hotel’s location is perfect. The sea view suite is nice and the view is stunning. The breakfast is not bad at all really. I’ve had far worse. Lots of fresh fruit and yoghurt with honey. The staff ruined our stay I’m afraid to say. Just head down at reception. Help yourself to your own key so no interaction was called for. I would describe them at best disinterested, at worse, they are rude. One member of staff was clearly talking about me in Greek (I had moved the stray cats away from my wife who is allergic) as she was stood a meter away pointing at me and shouting to a local man. I asked her what the problem was and she shouted at me in English that I was the reason for the stray cat problem. When it was quieter, I went to talk to the receptionist to complain about the incident at breakfast. As I was telling her, the phone rang and she stopped me to take the call. Customer service was not the highest priority at Hotel Pal Beach. If you want amazing views, book the full sea view rooms. Just don’t expect a warm welcome.

  Holiday on the beach

  Just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at this friendly hotel with great customer service. The room was modest but comfortable bed and good standard linen. Maid service very thorough spotlessly clean. The breakfast was plentiful and eating on the terrace looking over to the sea was lovely.Loved our large sunny balcony.
