    Fabulous place to stay!

    rating12 Oct 2025

We had the most wonderful and relaxing week here. The family who own the apartments were so friendly and welcoming. The apartment was spotless and overlooked stunning views of the sea and mountains. The establishment was really well looked-after and we spent a lot of time around the poolside. We loved the fact they had happy hour and served cocktails around the poolside. The food served at the restaurant was delicious and very good value for money. We got a taxi from Heraklion airport which was around a 25 minute drive and got the bus back to the airport. 15 minute walk to the supermarket and 20-25 minute walk to the seafront where there were plenty of bars and restaurants. Around a 25-30 minute walk into the old town of Hersonissos. We discovered the traditional villages of Piskopiano and Koutouloufari which were similar in distance and had amazing Greek restaurants . Good bus links which we used to visit Knossos Palace and Malia. Surrounding area is quiet but very hilly however this was not an issue for us. We would highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to return!

    Could not fault!

    rating05 Sept 2025

Could not fault Palatia Village! We arrived very early hours of 04:00 Sunday morning after delays at Gatwick, and were met by one of the staff from Palatia village ,who showed us to our room and asked us to check in the following morning. We paid for a basic self-catering studio for a week-Which had everything we needed! We used this area as a base as my sister and myself love to venture out! The beds were beyond comfy and the apartment was very clean.Plenty of cupboard space and lots of hangers!! Lighting in the bathroom was very limited ,we had to use the kitchen area lights to see in the bathroom (not sure whether the bulbs needed to be changed?) The view from our apartment was absolutely unbelievable,I don’t think we will ever get over how beautiful it was! The sunrises were just something else.We did not have any problems with noise at the village in the evening, the area was lovely and quiet! The Pool and bar area was very clean and never too busy to grab a sunbed or seat for late breakfast/lunch-Can’t comment on food too much as we brought our own breakfast and were out elsewhere during lunches. The villages is situated just a 15 min walk from the beach-which had lots of areas for food and drink, aswell as a couple of supermarkets for essentials! Just bare in mind the village is situated on top of a hill-which isn’t much fun to walk back up but definitely do-able!You are able to get a taxi into Hersonissos town which will cost €10There is also a bus stop just at the bottom of the hill on the right, that goes into Herkolini/Malia/Old Town Malia costing anywhere from €2-€5.As for the food at the Palatia Village,We decided to join for the Cretan dancing night.€20 (not including drinks) for a buffet type dinner with salad/bread/meats and of course raki and watermelon to polish off the night with, aswell as some dancing! Overall , as young guests being 19 and 21,we really really enjoyed our stay-and would recommend this place to anyone else looking to travel to Crete,so much to do and close to lots of places!😊Georgio was so welcoming and a good laugh! Always smiling and chatting away:)The family work really hard to make this such a great stay for people.
