Almost perfect but a bit dissappointed

    rating13 Oct 2025

The hotel is nice and almost perfect. But i was a little bit dissappointed because we were there for a vacation and everytime we go for an excurssion or tour and then going back to the hotel after a fun and tiring day, first thing we have to do is wash first our dishes, instead of relaxing, which is not nice. And also broken dishes should be changed because i get wounded from washing it.

Relaxing holiday spot near Chania and Platanias

    rating22 Aug 2025

My experience staying at the hotel was really good. It is a lovely little hotel located slightly away from the main road, which means it’s peaceful without traffic noise. From the hotel down to the main road is just a few hundred meters. The hotel is situated on a hill, which could be a challenge if you have mobility issues, but otherwise not a problem. From the main road, you can catch buses to both Chania and Platanias. The beach is also just across the main road, where you’ll find several cafés and multiple supermarkets along the road. The hotel itself is small and charming. There’s a nice pool with plenty of space and sunbeds always available. The room was very good, and had its own kitchen, which made it possible to cook meals yourself, such as breakfast or lunch. The balcony overlooked the pool. Cleaning was done frequently, and towels were changed often, which kept the standard very high. The hotel also has its own little minimarket, where you can buy all the essentials such as soap, toothbrushes, creams, as well as snacks during the day. The hotel itself also serves food, which I tried once, and I had a really good experience with it.The staff were overall very friendly and accommodating if you needed anything. The hotel has a parking lot, where you can park your car in case you rent one while on vacation. The only downside of the hotel is that it is quite noisy. You can hear other guests through the walls as well as noises from the hallway. It would also have been nice if there were a few more power outlets in the room. Nikolaos Balis, General Manager at Pegasus Hotel, responded to this review Thank you very much for your kind comments! Hope to see you sometime in the future

Cozy for families! The staff not so friendly!

    rating09 Aug 2025

Cozy hotel for families! The cleaning is highly appreciated! The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms small and quite old, but clean. The staff should work a bit on being more welcoming and smiling! Aphrodites from reception was the only one who made us feel good about being here! She’s amazing. The breakfast was ok, except the cookies from the jars that seemed to be the same for one week without being changed! Nikolaos Balis, General Manager at Pegasus Hotel, responded to this review Dear Alina,Thank you for your comments! Aphrodite is indeed amazing but so is everyone else as most if our guests comment. Our team members are here to provide the best possible service, and to ensure every guest is treated with courtesy and respect, while we expect the same in return. You are probably referring to our manager who was trying to keep everyone safe and happy in the pool area. Please note that for the safety and comfort of all our guests, we kindly ask that children are always supervised and do not engage in behavior that could be disruptive or unsafe. We understand that children are excited around the pool area, but for the safety and comfort of all our guests, we kindly ask that parents ensure their children are supervised and respectful of others while swimming or playing nearby. The pool is a shared space, and our team has a responsibility to ensure it remains safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you are looking for a more playful environment where kids can enjoy themselves more freely, we would be happy to assist you with arranging tickets for Limnoupolis Water Park, which offers many activities designed especially for children.Regarding your remarks about breakfast, we must clarify that your statements are inaccurate. Our breakfast service includes a big variety of products, which is consistently appreciated by our guests. All items placed on our buffet are prepared fresh and replenished regularly in accordance with strict hygiene and quality standards. While preferences can vary, spreading untrue information is neither fair nor constructive. In any case thank you for choosing Pegasus

We loved the 5 star experience on this 3 star hotel

    rating09 Aug 2024

Let me start by making it crystal clear - what you read next is to been seen more as observations than negative feedbackThis is a 5 star experience on a 3 star hotelIf you decide to visit this hotel, and you bring the mentality that you are going to a 3 star and not a 5 star hotel - then you are likely to experience a 5 star stayBe aware that the hotel is on top of a small hill, which means that if you struggle to walk a few hundred meters with an okay elevation level consider to take a taxi homeThe beach is also close by also at the foot of the hillFirst of all: what makes this hotel stand out is the owner(s)/staff(s) of this hotelThey are all, without exception, genuine welcoming, smiling, personal, friendly and right out pleasant to be aroundThis goes from the reception to the gartner and the housekeepingThe Room: We had one of the rooms with the main beedroom on the 1st floor and the kitchen and 2 sleeping couches downstairsThere is a wc and bath on both floors and a terrace on both floorsThere is however only 1 air condition and as you can see on my photos its located high upThe only way to try and cool the 1st floor is by using the “swing” functionality on the remote to make the fans try and swing up the cold airBut as hot air rises and cold air falls you will experience that those sleeping on the 1st floor can be s bit warm here in the summer and those at the ground floor a bit coldThe kitchen is small and so is the fridge, but as we only used the kitchen to cool our beverages and make a lunch sandwich it was no problemIf you plan to actually cook you could be challenged a bitThe 2 main beds are good and the 2 sleeping couches are hard as a rock but the springs in your back makes you forget that ;)There is a tv with a few channels nothing really but we mostly came back from Aqia Marina around 2300 and straight to sleepThe Wifi in the room, as in most southern hotels, are non-existing so bring you 4G mobile data The water in the bath was nice and warm at all hours of the dayThere is daily cleaning of the room with floors been washed etc and new towels and bed linen every 3rd dayIf you look at my photo you can see the finish around the sink, the cub bards, electrical sockets etc.But everything was fully functional in the room and it was nice and cleanI would suggest to bring some extension cords for iPad/iPhone charging etc. As the number and placement of those outlets is from a time before electronic devices The Pool: the pool is kept very clean and so is the surrounding pool areas There is no pool towels so bring your ownThere is a life guard on duty most of the day and he also keeps the pool area spotlessThe cleaning staff also wash the tiles every morningThe pool is nice and deep for diving in around 3 meters deep at the deep endThere is enough sun beds for all guests so no problem getting one And the hotel is not strict about you enjoying a can of soda you bought at the mini market etcEven though they also have a pool bar/ lunch restaurantBe aware that its only open between 12-17 so dinner is not possible on the hotelBreakfast: we had bought breakfast and every morning we were greated by a lovely smiling man and women (maybe the hotel owners man/wife)Always smiling, always taking their time to help the first comers etc.The breakfast is good value for the price paid and what you need and nothing moreBit of eggs, bacon, bread, cheese, meats, yogurt, serial, fruits and some cake and the juice is “concentrate” with water and a coffee machineA good start to the dayThe Mini Market: there is a small mini market attached to the hotels, its open between 8-17They have your basic breads, fizzy drinks, beers, wines, butter, ice cream, floating plastic devices for the pool etc.The prices are slightly above the prices in the supermarkets at the foot of the hill, as I recall its 1,5 eur for a cola and maybe 1,2 down the hillIn the large scheme of things it was ok prices for the convenience The hotel is around 3 kilometers from the center of Aqia Marina which has a little more rich restaurant and night life and you can ask the reception to call you a taxi and for it to take you there, the price is 10 euro one wayThere is a turist tax of 3 euro per day per room and for some reason it always annoyed me that this is not just a part of the up front price when you book the hotelBut its small potato's 24 euro we paid for 8 daysAll in all we had a wonderful stay and I cant rule out that we would come again as the kids also loved this place5 stars is hereby given

Disgusting, and rude staff. Waste of money!

    rating03 Aug 2024

Horrible experience, do not go here!We were met by a dirty room, with both filthy kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen had dirty appliances. The walls, sofa, and shelves were dirty. Bugs were crawling all around the room, ants and others. There were even ants in the bed, where I was bit. The bathroom smelt horrid, and there was blood on the cabinets. The shower was filthy, with only cold water. AC in the bedroom did not work, and AC in the rest of the room turned off as soon as there were open doors. The worst was the bloody towel found in our room. The staff were petty and rude, and gave us no compensation. The same goes for Apollo. We ended up leaving this hotel, and moved to Cretan Dream Royal. This cost us €100 out of pocket. This inconvenience ruined our whole vacation, utterly disappointed. PEGASUS HOTEL, Ιδιοκτήτης at Pegasus Hotel, responded to this review Dear Miss Nerland,Thank you for spending time to write a review about your experience. For starters let us truly apologize for the inconvenience caused. Truth is that we had been having problems with a new inexperienced cleaning lady who has been causing problems concerning the cleaning quality of the rooms. Additionally, last winter had been extremely dry resulting to issues with ants in properties located in the country side. You came at the hotel with your boyfriend and his parents staying in separate apartments. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, your apartment (221) wasn’t properly cleaned and there where ants on the bed. You and your boyfriend decided to leave the hotel without letting anyone know, without mentioning anything so that we could have a chance to properly clean the apartment or maybe offer you another apartment. The staff and cleaning lady were looking for you for two days, wondering if anything had happened to you. We called Apollo as well as your boyfriend many times, and eventually when he decided to answer the phone we found out that you had left the premises without leaving the key and without informing anyone about it! Let us remind you that all hotels by law, have to keep track of the exact number of guests staying on the premises every single night. We could have been heavily fined for your actions when all of us here thought that you were staying in the hotel and in reality you just vanished!! All the staff work really really hard to offer our guests a pleasant stay. Writing about our staff that they are petty and rude (!!) is a big lie since neither you nor your boyfriend said one word with anyone of us-except when your boyfriend after three days decided to answer the phone and let us know you left the hotel. The air conditioning works just fine! For environmental reasons, when you open the balcony door it turns of. That is basic energy saving and environmental friendly tactics which you probably are unaware due to your young age.As for the pictures you uploaded, moving the fridge to show the dirt on the floor under the fridge and skirting board is not very ethical on your part, hoping you might get compensation from Apollo.Miss Nerland, the logical thing to do would have been to come to the front desk, ask for the manager and let us know about your problems. Believe me we would have done our best to fix everything we could so that you could have a pleasant stay instead of vanishing and putting the legitimacy of our hotel at stake! You can have a look at other reviews in Trip advisor, Google, Apollo, Booking, and Expedia. Our staff is our strongest feature and showing such disrespect on the hard work that they do is at the least insulting. Next time you decide to go on holiday, better be aware of the risks you are putting a business due to your immaturity and ignorance. Last but not least, we are obliged to notify you that we reserve any legal rights against you in accordance with the applicable defamation legislation concerning misleading and untrue comments and photographs.
