    This hotel was very average. Opposite our hotel room was a couple of dogs locked in cages in 25 + degree heat, disgusting. The reception was never open, if you are arriving late at night you will be outside waiting a while to get in. We had to ask a lady what to do and she had to ring the owner to come let us in our room.

    Don't even think about it... They ask ask 5 € for the air conditioning.. Very bad hospitality, they didn't have pos , no soap in the room and the towel was dirty. The owner was rude and even started knocking at the door at 10:20 to make sure that everyone leaves the rooms regardless of when we were checking out.

    1. No reception facilities; Reception area was closed and not in use throught 2020.2. Pool was dirty, was not being maintained, and had not been in use for the whole of the 2020 season.3. Our room was finally cleaned after we had stayed there for 7 days.During our stay at the Artemis Bay hotel in Malia Crete, the above 3 points were totally unacceptable, and we certainly did not receive value for money!We therefore ended our stay early, requested a refund from Booking.com and the hotel owner, and we then promptly moved into an excellent local hotel in Malia for the remainder of our 3 week holiday.(Dec 2020 update: We are still waiting for the agreed refund from Booking.com, who are now not prepared to take any responsibility for the booking, and are very good at just 'passing the book' onto the hotel owner.The hotel was being looked after by a live-in 'caretaker' couple, who were attempting to run the hotel on their own.We were the only 2 people staying in the hotel, during the Covid 19 pandemic period of September 2020.However, the pandemic situation is no excuse. We quickly discovered that several other local hotels in the area continued to be fully functional during this period.Also amazingly, Artemis Bay hotel continued to advertise their rooms on Booking.com throughout 2020, whilst continuing to advertise hotel facilities which were non-existent...this is totally unacceptable!I can only assume that the greedy hotel owner was happy to continue taking money from customers, whilst not being capable of delivering the basic hotel facilities as advertised.This hotel should have been shut down months ago!The hotel owner should be ashamed of himself, and I hope that he goes out of business very soon.

    Amazing holiday

    We spent one week in this hotel and I have to say it was amazing. Hotel is new, it was opened this year. Everything is clean, new, rooms are big and quiet (despite parties in the city). There's fridge, flat TV, cups, glasses and kettle in the room. Wifi for free. Balconies with sea view, perfect to spend breakfast time and evenings in there. Everything very comfy. Hotel has no swimming pool but it's 1 min to the beach, so it's no problem ;) There'll be some rooms more on 3rd floor in some time, hotel is still growing. There's a lift, so you don't have to go with your luggage upstairs. And the best from the hotel is the crew! Hans and his wife are very friendly, helpful and warm people. They are taking care of all the guests and can tell you everything about Crete.     Classy, peaceful new hotel

    Just returned from malia stayed at the Artemis for 5 nights last week. Single lady in her 50.s wanted to be away from the young crowds of malia but near to beach etc. Found this hotel to be the best I have stayed in. I have been visiting my son in malia for several years and have found average places but this is the best. Newly built this year so no pool yet but the sea is a 2 minute walk. Modern room with decent shower, tv, air con etc, sea views. hans and his wife cannot do enough for you they are extremely helpful and friendly. Did not hear a sound from other rooms etc. No doubt this hotel will be fully booked next season,a little gem.
