  Living large in the Lower East Side

  Very good experience at this hotel. Location was very convenient for seeing shows and exploring nightlife in the lower east side and surrounding neighborhoods. The atmosphere was great, especially considering that some of the rooms offer view of downtown and midtown. The rooms were comfortable and well designed. As far as value, cleanliness, noise level, service, and amenities go... all great. The staff, especially Dery, really contributed to the vibe.

  several bad night's sleep

  If I based this review solely on the staff it would be 5+++. They are all exemplary, kind, caring, competent, efficient. Unfortunately our room did not allow for a good night's sleep which made the hotel a pretty bad experience for us. We stayed in room 1902 which has a window which lets in outside light 24/7. There is no curtain or any way to cover it so as soon as the sun comes up (about 6am) the room is flooded with light and the lights from the city light up the room all night. There was no other comparable room available. The room is configured with the bed against the wall adjacent to the next door shower. When our neighbor showered it was so loud right next to our heads that it felt like it was in the room. The first few days it was not a big problem but we had to extend and couldn't move rooms due to an injury and the people who checked in later showered 5-6 times a day and all night long. Last night they woke us with a 1:00am shower that lasted 1/2 hour. By 2:45am they were back in the shower for another 20 minutes. Then at 9:00am another half hour shower with singing. It was relentless. It is not the fault of the compulsive shower guests it is the fault of the hotel having such an intrusive poorly considered layout and no soundproofing. We also had sheets that did not cover the mattress pad one night and had to remake the bed ourselves to cover the whole bed and the next night noticed (what looked like blood) stains on the clean sheets they had just put on. Great location, big rooms, plentiful bottled water, good mattress and pillows, fast wifi but would not stay again due to our exhaustion after 8 days of poor interrupted sleep. So many other good options at this price point.

  The Hotel on Rivington is my go to NYC home base. I have stayed here on nearly every visit to the city since 2018 and it just keeps getting better. Perfectly situated in the heart of the Lower East Side, it is ideal for anyone who wants to bop between Manhattan and Brooklyn. You are minutes from Dimes Square and right in the middle of the LES buzz with cafes, bars, galleries and great food literally on your doorstep.The property has evolved beautifully through recent renovations. The upgrades are complete and absolutely worth it. Rooms feel generous, more spacious than any other NYC hotel I have experienced, each with its own distinctive character and abundant natural light. Thoughtful design and comfort are evident everywhere.What truly sets this place apart is the staff. They are consistently warm, professional and genuinely eager to help. A special shout out to Andy, a longtime employee who has become a familiar friendly face over multiple visits, and to Dery, who on my most recent stay in April went above and beyond to make my visit extra special. Exceptional service like this makes every stay feel personal.If you want a stylish, ideally located LES hotel with roomy, well designed rooms and standout staff, The Hotel on Rivington is a must. Highly recommended.

  The best hotel experience that I can remember.

  The only issue I see with my stay at the Hotel on Rivington early last month, is that the quality of everything, especially the service provided by the staff is beyond anything I can ever recall and would like to thank Jessica and Andy for being so wonderful. From the moment I called a few hours before when I was at the airport to inquire about a confirmation for a room upgrade I had paid for when booking the room online and Jessica answered with her incredibly friendly tone, I could tell that they stay was going to be to our liking. She was so attentive and went above and beyond answering all my questions and made sure that I understood everything. I really wish more hotels not only trained their staff this well and the staff clearly are very happy with the work they are doing, they are proud and it really shows. From now on, I will only be staying at the Hotel on Rivington when I am not forced to stay elsewhere in NYC and it has everything to do with this most recent experience. The room was clean and tidy, there was even a very nice letter wishing my girlfriend a Happy Birthday which was not necessary but noticed by the staff and its those little details that really make guests feel special. I would like to once again give a special thank you to Jessica and the rest of the staff at the hotel who care so much and made our stay in NYC beyond special.
