    Amazing hospitality from all staff. Apartments were spotless and spacious. Everything you need for a relaxing, easy holiday. Food at the sarpidon is good value and delicious. Breakfasts plentiful with a good choice and staff will accommodate your individual needs. Nothing too much trouble. Ask Dora for cocktails not on the menu eg Brandy alexander, expresso martini. She would give tom cruise a run for his money.

    Welcoming, clean and comfortable. Ideal for exploring Malia and the rest of Crete. Tucked away in the old town, but close enough to supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc. please be aware, the old town only has restaurants. We were expecting lots of shops and alleys like other parts of Crete. It was different yet full of charm. The food is absolutely delicious and the menu has lots to offer. The chef is a real asset to Sarpidon. We would also highly recommend the restaurant closest to Sarpidon. Traditional Cretan cuisine and lovely atmosphere. Dora and Lucy are regularly mentioned in other reviews and we appreciate why. Both are loyal, committed members of staff who make you feel very welcome. Dora looked out for my 16 year old daughter while she studied by the pool. Much appreciated:) Advice - get a car and explore Crete. Within 15 minutes of this hotel you have traditional mountain villages, caves to explore, beautiful towns steeped in history. I imagine this hotel can be a bit wild in the summer, but we experienced a more laid back family atmosphere. Spending Easter here was an experience! Special mention to the lady who served breakfast - from Czech Republic. Her knowledge and guidance of places to visit was excellent. All the staff were excellent from the cleaners, bar staff, kitchen staff and management who quietly keep an eye on things in the background. Highly recommend this hotel. We got a pretty cheap deal for B&B so excellent value for money too. Well done Sarpidon, thank you for a lovely holiday.

    Fantastic location for exploring Malia old town. The staff are all amazingly friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble. Beautiful cold beer, and excellent selection of cocktails.e

    What a lovely stay!!Dora and Craig are amazing, such welcoming staff.Came on a girly holiday - out of season but still stuff to do! Old town is beautiful and the Malia strip is about 15 min walk.The food was lovely, good portion and cocktail choices are big.The rooms are spacious, well updated and very clean, it wasn’t noisy where we was!Hotel is lovely! Deffo recommend. Only bad thing I would say is you have to pay for aircon and don’t get fresh towels. Have to wait two days x

    Pleased with the experience here at the The Sarpidon. I found it to be very clean, friendly and as a solo traveller( 3rd time in Crete) , the clientele is made up of plenty of frequent visitors who were wonderful to meet and chat too. The lovely Anne and Peter, Jane and Michelle and the hilarious Marie from Ireland - in promise I will return the glass 😇. The rapport the staff have with visitors is priceless. You could have paid 10 times the cost and still not received the attention and friendliness that I feel I had received here . Apologies to Dora who had to chase me down the street because I forgot to pay for my last snack - 100 m sprint better than an Olympic event. So sorry Dora 🙏. Won’t happen again 🫣. Situated right in the centre of Old Malia, close to a very convenient travel route that can take you from one end of the island to the other, with buses coming every 20 minutes. Take a walk out of the west exit of hotel and you find yourself in a delightful and quaint Old Village of Malia , rich in historic buildings, some converted into stunning restaurants and picture postcard beautiful streets. Sarpido also offers delicious meals and drinks reasonably priced and plenty on offer . The beach is in walking distance about 400 m or so but the beach on Malia is squeezed with so many sunbeds you’re near on top of each other - preferred the lovely cove at Hersonnisos 24 or around the pool the days I wasn’t off exploring. Sarpidon is ideally situated, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of mountains yet has everything you need for a memorable, relaxing holiday . Highly recommend.Keep Euros and change . Much preferred than card .
