    A great holiday

    rating27 Jan 2026

I stayed at the Silva Beach hotel for a week with my dad in mid-October 2025.I had not been on holiday for 12 years, so I was looking forward to it.After a 20-minute transfer from the airport, we arrived at the hotel. We were greeted by a nice receptionist and booked in straight away. We filled in a form and paid 10 euros per day per room as we expected. We were given our keycards and then taken to our rooms by a lovely porter that carried both of our cases. Our rooms were nice and clean, with tea/coffee facilities and a mini fridge with bottled water. Complimentary toiletries were provided in the shower room, also a hair dryer to use. Pool towels were provided in the wardrobe. I had a nice terrace with a table and chairs, and it was lovely to sit out there first thing in the morning with a coffee. The layout of the hotel is beautiful, set like a Creten village. I especially loved walking along the paths around the hotel! There are two swimming pools, one in the main part of the hotel and the other close the sea. Unfortunately, I cut my leg on the first day, so I didn’t go in the pools during my stay, but I did dip my toes in. We were able to find a couple of sunbeds in the sun by the main pool bar in the afternoons, but most were taken by the pool towels and no one there. The sunbeds at the swimming pool by the seafront were all taken, however you could go to the seafront where there were sunbeds available. You can’t access the sea directly, as it is mainly rocks, however there are some lovely beaches not too far away! The food at the hotel was fantastic! I tried lots of new things and enjoyed every single meal. The restaurant staff worked very hard making sure food was topped up and cleared your plates straight away. You can help yourself to drinks including tea, coffee, water, fizzy drinks and wine at stations in the restaurant. I didn’t see any fresh juice which would have made it perfect, especially at breakfast. There are two bars at the hotel. The main bar is by the pool which had a nice seating area outside, and one by reception which has a quieter feel to it. The pool bar staff were friendly and ready to take your order. One thing that did disappoint were the cocktails. They are not made with real fruit juice, but a fizzy drinks like fizzy orange/lemonade. I am not a big drinker, but I did not like the taste of most of the drinks. Instead, I drank tea/coffee available on the AL and brought the occasional frappe from the pool bar which were delicious. I wish the frappe were included in the AL, but I didn’t mind paying 2.50 euros for one a day. The cocktails were really my only downside to the hotel. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday. So much so I have booked to come back myself towards the end of April. I had such a nice stay at Silva Beach hotel and I am keen to explore more of Hersonissos! Spilios Vlachoulis, Γενικός Διευθυντής at Silva Beach, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your stay with us — especially after such a long time without a holiday — was such an enjoyable one for both you and your dad. It’s great to know you felt welcomed on arrival, loved the village-style layout, and enjoyed those relaxing terrace mornings with coffee. We’re also very happy that the food was a highlight of your stay — our restaurant team will be thrilled to hear your kind words. We’re sorry you injured your leg at the start of your trip and hope you’ve fully recovered. Thank you as well for your honest feedback about sunbeds and cocktails. We truly appreciate your comments and will share them with our team as we continue improving our guest experience. We’re especially pleased that you’ve already booked to return in April — that’s the biggest compliment we could receive! We look forward to welcoming you back for another fantastic stay and more exploring in Hersonissos.Warm wishes,Spilios VlachoulisHotel General Manager

    Beautiful Hotel and Welcoming Staff

    rating23 Dec 2025

We have stayed at this beautiful hotel for a number of years now and love everything about it.The hotel’s Manager and Assistant Manager, Haroula Zervou, are the loveliest, most friendly and helpful people and all thestaff are so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you to make your stay the best it can be and we are always welcomed back like old friends.Eleni, on reception is always so helpful and friendly, as is Sissi. The food is amazing, lovely Greek food especially, but there is something for everyone. The pools are so clean and kept beautifully and so inviting. The hotel is more like a Cretan village, with pretty little pathways adorned with beautiful trees and plants all the way around.Wherever you are in the complex you only have to walk a few steps to reach the beach and promenade walk to other bars and restaurants and in the other direction, through reception to the street for the shops. The restaurant Manager, Lefteris, has been at the hotel many years and keeps the restaurant running so well and is always so welcoming and very friendly. The Pool bar and beach bar are run by Zacharius and Kostas, who again, are both super efficient and have been there many years and greet us like old friends, which is lovely.Everywhere is kept so clean at all times and the beds are very comfortable and the walk in showers are very good for anyone with mobility issues. We have been to many Greek islands and this hotel is the best and friendliest we have stayed at, we highly recommend this beautiful hotel/complex. Spilios Vlachoulis, Γενικός Διευθυντής at Silva Beach, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a wonderful and heartfelt review. It truly means the world to all of us to know that you continue to return to our hotel and feel at home each time you visit.Your kind words about our staff, Eleni, Sissi, Lefteris, Zacharius, Kostas, and the entire team, are deeply appreciated. We are very proud of our long-standing staff, and it is incredibly rewarding to hear that their warmth, friendliness, and dedication make such a positive impact on your stays. We are delighted that you enjoy the food, especially our Greek dishes, the cleanliness of the pools and rooms, and the village-style layout of the hotel. Creating a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere where guests can easily access the beach, promenade, shops, and facilities is exactly what we strive for.It is also wonderful to hear that you find the beds comfortable and the walk-in showers convenient, as guest comfort and accessibility are very important to us.Your recommendation and loyalty over the years are the greatest compliments we could receive. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon and continuing to make many more happy memories together.Warmest regards,Spilios VlachoulisHotel General Manager

    Excellent Holiday

    rating20 Nov 2025

Arrived late in the evening staff were very friendly we had a nice ground floor room with a terrace where it was nice and quiet. Room was a bit dated but was comfortable and clean. Bathroom had a couple of issues loose toilet seat and plug in sink broken we did report but it didn’t get fixed properly but didn’t spoil our Holiday. Food was excellent a lot of choice at breakfast, Lunch and dinner with Greek specialties every evening. Pour yourself beer and wine in restaurant which was good. Tried the Al a carte restaurants Italian and burger but wasn’t impressed the Buffet restaurant was better. Sunbeds were always busy some people putting towels on beds early and not going on them until mid afternoon which I think should be policed better. But we did get sunbed most days. Nice cove at Scorpio beach for swimming to use if you don’t use there sunbeds there is no charge just walk down the path to it to the right of hotels beach pool. Staff friendly and efficient Pety in the bar and Maria front of house in restaurant always smiling. Will definitely be back. No beach hotel

    rating17 Nov 2025

Silva beach hotel was recommended to my sister in law and I after asking Tui for a hotel with a beach which we could access easily and have regular swims. On the first day of our holiday we walked down to find the hotel had no beach, sand yes abd loungers but then just rocks and low cliffs which made it almost impossible to enter the water, so having a swim 5 minutes down from our hotel was not possible There was a little cove at the hotel next door but u had to pay for their sunbeds and the walk down to it was dodgyy including a huge pit in the middle of the path covered with a few old planks We tried the hotel on the other side this turned out to be too rocky and slippy and the steps accessing the beach had no safety rail. After my sister in law fell off the steps and ended up in a wheelchair we found 2 other people who had fallen on the same steps trying to find a beach as they like us thought the hotel had one The ramps at the hotel are not fit for purpose They are so steep it took strong men assisting us to get her back up the ramps after leaving the restaurant which is at the bottom of a steep hill The first couple of days the porters helped us but then the reception told us they were not coming anymore so we had to rely on some very strong holiday makers to help us.Dont go there if ur in a wheelchair disabled access is hopeless. The staff were very helpful at mealtimes and cleaning our room. The bar staff were lovely The main pool got very slippy and u had to go by it to get to the bar.The railings down into the pool were loose and shook. The food was ok but didn't change much from day to day we got bored with it. The evening entertainment was ok but not much variation same people all the time. The place was very pretty but health and safety didn't exist . Would not go back again Spilios Vlachoulis, Γενικός Διευθυντής at Silva Beach, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, and we truly value the opportunity to respond. We would like to reassure you that accessibility is an important priority for us. Ramps are in place throughout the hotel to assist guests with mobility needs, and they meet the safety specifications required for our facilities. We regret that you experienced difficulty during your stay, and we will review your comments to ensure that all areas remain comfortable and manageable for all guests.Regarding beach access, we can confirm that the access points provided by the hotel are safely constructed and maintained. While the natural coastline in the area can be rocky in places, the designated entry points to the water are designed for safe use, and we regularly assess them to maintain safety standards. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not reflect this, and we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. Your comments will be shared with our team so we can continue to improve the guest experience.Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you will consider giving us the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.Sincerely ,Spilios VlachoulisHotel General Manager

    Very impressed

    rating10 Nov 2025

We stayed at the Silva Beach, as an older couple, in early October. Check in was easy although a bit of an ouch for the hotel tax and the hire of a room safe. The receptionist tried to insist on cash for the hotel tax but was out of luck as I did not have enough euros. Paid by credit card instead. We were taken to our room by a lovely guy who pointed out where things were in the grounds as we went along. He also carried our cases up to our first floor room. The rooms are perfectly adequate, very clean with a very comfortable bed. It needed a bit of slight TLC in that a lick of paint would not go amiss and the bathroom door did not close properly. Presumably this will be dealt with in the close season. No issues with hot water and the housekeeper did a great job every day. We asked for a quiet garden room and it was just that apart from the odd drunk who needed a volume control. Be aware though, the walls are very thin!Food is excellent with lots of choice and a bias towards Greek dishes which we totally enjoyed. Asian Corner made a nice change too. We tried both the bookable al a cartes and both are worth a visit. Pizza in the Italian is very impressive. Drinks are adequate, beer and wine are both palatable. Spirits are local and are weak which is understandable as they do not want people legless drunk. Some people did treat it as a challenge though. There is supposed to be a dress code in the restaurant but it is not enforced even though the Hotel matrie de is always present. It is a nice restaurant and the ladies make a real effort to dress up but the men do not bother. The way some dressed, Wetherspoons would have turned them away. Top tip, go to dinner when it first opens or you will be queuing outside.Usual sun bed warriors who think they will die if they do not get the same sunbed every day. There were sunbeds always available away from the pool but the hotel was not full. Peak season I guess would be a different story. The grounds are beautifully kept and are a pleasure to walk around.Staff are wonderful never came across a miserable one. They cannot do enough for you and the smiles brighten up your day. With a little investment and some tweaking this hotel would be excellent. I have marked it down only because of the sunbed situation and the lack of dress code enforcement. If you have rules, enforce them or get rid of them and create a fair playing field. Spilios Vlachoulis, Γενικός Διευθυντής at Silva Beach, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed review and for choosing Silva Beach for your October getaway.
