    Great Host good location

    rating14 Jul 2024

Stayed here early July apartment No 6 .Fantastic location far enough away from the strip as to not be too busy but close enough to walk to (15 mins)Apartment was very basic but spacious with a nice balcony with a sea view there is also a large pool which was very cleanDouble bed was very comfortable Extremely clean with cleaner in every day Air con was brilliant (extra charge but well worth it )Didn't use the self catering in the room as the food at the pool bar was cheap and cooked well by Steff the owner. We went out on the evenings and dined at different restaurants Can recommend Katrinas restaurant 10 mins across the road don't use the curry house next door to Katrinas it's expensive and rubbishAll in all a great break at a bargain price The owner Steff is brilliant along with her mother who run the place on their own Nothing was too much trouble for them also Steff is very funny and a great host Mari sofi is up a slight hill from the main street of Stallis some of the rooms are up 3 or 4 flights of stairs No1 room being on the ground floor No 12 at the very top

    Definitely returning! Excellent hotel

We decided to stay at the Mary Sofi after reading all the positive reviews! This was our first stay here, but second in Stalis (if we had known about the Mary Sofi last year, we would have definitely stayed here!) The apartments themselves, are up a slight hill, about 10-15 mins from all the bars & restaurants, whilst this was fine for us, may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. That being said, its very quiet of an evening, despite being on a road. The place is run by Stef, who, is literally superwoman. She is truly a wonder and so hospitable, nothing seemed too much. We could not fault her and how she runs this place; she cooks, she cleans, she jumps over balconies to get your clothes that blew over 🙄 I reached out to Stef a week before our arrival as I had sprained my ankle, knowing that the Mary Sofi has some 70 odd stairs and no lift, I reached out and explained my situation. A few days later, I received confirmation that Stef had given us the lowest room available at the time (room 2) truly wonderful. The room itself was super clean, huge, and consisted of super comfy double bed, a single on the mezzanine level of the room (really cool) and another in the dining/kitchen area. The kitchen has pots, pans and the usual cutlery and crockery you should need. The cooker has a single large electric hob that heats up pretty quick so, idea for easy meals. The fridge is an under counter unit so plenty of space for water/fresh foods. The bathroom was a good size and consisted of a good shower, sink and toilet. Running water was of a great pressure. The balcony was a good size and overlooked the swimming pool and loungers. We also had a sturdy table and 4 chairs, as well as a clothes horse for drying the ever wet beach towels. There is a small bar/restaurant on site and that's where you will usually find Stef working (and Izzy the kitten, trying to sit on everyone - bless her) The food is soo tasty and pretty big portions! The pool was also clean and a good size, too! Plenty of space for all as there are only 12 rooms so there was always free loungers. I can honestly say, if we come back to Stalis, we will stay with Stef at the Mary Sofi. Her hospitality is second to none and she's an absolute joy ( she says she's annoying - not true!) Thank you, Stef for helping us have an amazing holiday.

Yet another great holiday here 🙂

This was our 10th stay here, we love it so much. Steph is great and nothing is too much trouble. If you need something just let her know and she'll get it if she can. This is a small family run place which has 12 rooms of varying sizes, all of which are spotlessly clean and have great views. The pool is a good size too with plenty of sunbeds. There are cooking facilities should you want to cook but we always eat at the bar because Steph's food is freshly cooked to order and the portions are HUGE. Great quality beer too.The Mari Sofi is about a 15 minute walk from Stalis main street which has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. It's lovely to be able to amble about in the town then walk back to the peace and quiet of the apartments. It's also convenient for the buses which are a really inexpensive way to see more of the island. This is a great place to stay, which is evident as so many guests here are repeat visitors. We all come back for Steph's unique blend of hospitality and cooking skills! See you next year

We all had a fabulous time staying at the Mary Sofi. This time as a very large group we sure made the most of the good facilities, spacious apartments with balconies, large pool, sunbeds and scrummy food cooked by Stef during the day!Stalis (Stalida) is a short walk downhill from apts, a beautiful family friendly town with so much choice for restaurants/bars, clean sandy beach with water sports available.Highly recommend and we will be back! Stef that runs it is a lovely crazy lady, made us all laugh! 🤣 Missing you already Stefanie, bet you missing us all really..#OurHappyPlace!🌞👍😎
