    Just returned from a 2 week holiday in Crete and Sunrise Appartments was the perfect location to stay and travel between Chania and Heraklion.Nikos was extremely welcoming, he couldn't do enough for us and always had time to talk to us and give travel advice.The appartment was clean and the pool was great!5* accomodation, thank you!Anna & Spyros

    The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The host Nikos and his wife are very pleasant and helpful, every room has a sea view, it is very clean and the rooms are spacious. The pool is excellent and perfectly positioned. Parking is provided. Sunrise Hotel is highly recommended!

    Brilliant location and well looked after little resort

    For the price we paid to stay here we were not expecting much. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 2 weeks. I seen previous reviews the apartments are up a hill this is not an issue there is a step down to a less steep hill to come up just after the car park. We had an issue with parking on the first day but after that we had none. The rooms are cleaned every second day. The location of Sfakaki is nice and quiet. It’s central for going around all the areas between Chania and Heraklion approx 1 hour to each. Rethymno is only 10 min drive away and Panoromos the same in the opposite direction. Both are lovely towns for swimming Panoromos was better if like calm water. We mostly ate in around Sfakaki and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. I need to mention the Vanilla cafe. We spent most evenings after dinner sitting on their sun loungers or tables watching the sunset. You can also sit here for the day on the sun loungers if you want. The walk back up is short approx 5 min and as I mentioned the hill is not that bad, tip take the road just before apartments road when walking back up and use the steps i mentioned. I need to mention the speed of the owner in solving a sink issue leakage we had. They had it rectified straight away, so kudos to him. Overall we’d an enjoyable stay and would stay again.

    The staff was nice and welcoming, and helped us when we wanted to order take out. The hotel was okay, with basic appartments. It’s a 3 star hotel, and you get what you pay for. Quiet area with a few restaurants and a supermarket. The hotel is NOT in the city center of Rethymno, and you have to pay 20 EU for a taxi to the city center. If you’re looking for a hotel close to shops, bars, night life and activities you should book somewhere else. If you’re looking for a basic hotel in a quiet and relaxing area, this is a great option. The hotel is close to the beach, only a 5 minute walk.

    We've just had a lovely stay here. The apartments are basic, but had everything we needed. There was a great mix of nationalities, families and couples. We still managed to have the pool to ourselves a lot of the time. It was a short walk to the beach and supermarket, although the way back felt longer as the hill was quite steep. The staff were lovely, we were always met with a smile and they were always very helpful, especially with ordering takeaways or making a lovely strong coffee in the morning.
