Location

The hotel is located in a quiet area on the beach of Kokkini Hani and just 12 km from Heraklion city, the capital of the island. Due to the hotel's location in the middle of northern Crete guests may visit Rethymnon which is 95 km from the hotel, and Chania as well as the famous archaeological sites of Knossos and Festos. The Knossos Palace is 15 km from the hotel and Agios Nikolaos is 45 km away. There are restaurants, bars, shops and discos located in Kokkini Hani town which is just 200 metres away from the hotel. There is a bus stop just 2 minutes' walk away. Heraklion Airport is approximately 12 km from the hotel.

Facility

The resort was renovated in 2025. 157 double rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities available at the resort include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) is provided in public areas. A variety of shops are available, including a souvenir shop. The grounds of the complex feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service (for a fee), a car hire service, medical assistance, an alarm call service, a laundry service and a hotel doctor. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning (no extra charge) ensures that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. There is also a desk and, for a fee, a safe. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a flatscreen television with satellite/cable channels, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and include a hairdryer. The resort has family rooms and 157 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. A variety of refreshing drinks await guests at the pool bar. The resort offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis and beach volleyball. Bocce is organised by third-party operators. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as canoeing and water aerobics. For a fee, guests can also enjoy water skiing, jet skiing and banana boat rides. Table tennis and aerobics or, for a fee, billiards, are among the sport and leisure options available. Guests can relax and unwind in the wellness area (massage treatments). In the complex offers excellent facilities for leisure and relaxation, including an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can dine at the restaurant (non-smoking, a buffet, air conditioning and high chairs). Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include half board and all-inclusive. A continental breakfast buffet provides many delicious reasons to rise and shine. At lunch and dinner, guests serve themselves at the buffet. Special meals, including vegetarian dishes, are also available. The chefs prepare delicious specialities during the show cooking.

    Average hotel, really poor all inclusive package means you pay extra for things you'd normally expect to be included. Very few all inclusive drinks on the menu. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are average, not a lot to our liking we mostly ate out at some of the other places in the area. The location on the beach is good, and the beach has nice soft sand, and beautiful water. The lady at the desk seemed annoyed when we informed her we had white furry mold on the wall, but its ok, someone scraped it off and painted over it 🫤 the room itself was, I'd say below average for a 4 star, when compared to other hotels we have stayed at, but usable. The vent on the air con unit was broke which ended up with me having to reach inside to retrieve my wallet and the broken pieces of vent, and the fridge was leaky and noisy and had ruined the desk it was in. The sea view balcony had a lovely view of the sea, but only had about an hour of sun early in the morning. The area surrounding the hotel and the road to it is very run down, although not the hotels fault. It is a short transfer from heraklion airport, we dont mind the low planes flying over, but may be worth considering if youre a light sleeper. My advice would be, if you're set on kokkini hani as your destination, check out mitsis rinela next door, we've visited 3 other mitsis hotels not far down the road, and all of them are better value for money, and would be worth a 10/10 in my book.

    Relaxing place with beautiful staff

    We didn't stay at the hotel but visited the beach with its sunbeds and cafe pretty much everyday of our holiday. For 2 sunbeds and an umbrella and table it was just 7 euros, amazing value, but what really made it for us were the two ladies looking after the cafe. Kiki and Sofia were amazing people and made our holiday truly memorable, so polite and caring, there politeness and customer service were second to none. The quality of food and drink was excellent and the price very reasonable. Would happily come back to this area just to see them.     Disappointing Stay: Operational Failures and Lack of Basic Hospitality Standards - Read and safe yourself

    We stayed at Themis Beach Hotel for 7 nights in July 2025 booked 2 rooms . It was supposed to be a relaxing family vacation. It turned into a nightmare.No air conditioning for 3 full days — not in the rooms, lobby, or restaurant.Reception kept lying: “you’ll feel it cooling soon” — never happened.Rooms cleaned only twice in a whole week.Pool bar staff mocked us with rude comments and eye-rolling.No sunbeds or shade at the pool after 11 AM. No staff around to help.Towels and safes cost extra. Beach access not included.Dining hall trays left empty during meals. Very poor food management.On our last night, we had to sleep on the beach — our son couldn’t breathe from the heat in the room.Worst of all: the hotel manager refused to speak with us. Just waved us away.They offered us 2 free drinks as “compensation.” It was insulting.This hotel should not be listed as a 4-star property.recommaned to avoid at all costs.
