    A Relaxing Family Holiday

    rating06 May 2026

Although we stay in a lot of hotels it had been some time since my family had been on a resort style holiday in Europe and this is the first time that we had been as 4 (two adults and kids under 12).I had booked the holiday a few months in advance as a package through EasyJet Luxury holidays and was looking for something... nice and well ...easy. So although I had done a fair bit of Trip Advisor research on which resorts were highly rated before we arrived I hadn't read too much about what Sani itself had to offer. What I can happily tell you is that this resort was excellent! When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Roxanna with a welcome drink and a full run down of how the resort operated. We were also told golf buggies were available to take us where we needed to get to on the resort which was very helpful as it's quite big when you include the other Sani hotels.Once in the resort we found it was immaculately presented. The pools were well designed with a tropical feel and we saw gardeners and grounds staff out every day maintaining the grounds. The temperature when we travelled was between 17-20c so not super hot but pleasant and we got to enjoy pools most days. For food there were a wide selection of restaurants. Our favourites were Artemis for the easy buffet style and amazing desserts and Vosporos which had a traditional greek menu and marina views and Lima which was a well polished Peruvian option. We also got food by the pool on a couple of occasions which is tasty and was a big hit with the kids as they could carrying on playing. In terms of activities we tried the free daily boat trip, the yoga, the spa, and my son tried the bungie trampolining. There was lots more to do on the wider resort but on this occasion we were taking it easy.Another point of note is that the staff could not do enough to make our trip relaxing and enjoyable. I bumped into the duty manager a couple of times who made a point of asking if there was anything else they could do for us. On one occasion I said I would like some toiletries which were accessible from the bath to make it easier with the kids (the ones in our room were attached to the wall in the shower). That evening when I returned to the room there were a selection of toiletries ready for us to use.All in all this holiday turned out to be exactly what we wanted. A relaxing and enjoyable family break in a high quality resort who really seemed to care if we enjoyed it. Would I go back? Definitely!

A Return to Porto Sani – Still Very Special, but a watchout on Dine Around Value

    rating04 May 2026

A Return to Porto Sani – Still Very Special, but a watchout on Dine Around ValueI actually started writing this a last year and never quite got round to posting it – so here are some reflections from our trip to Porto Sani in May 2025.We travelled as a family of four (two adults, daughters aged 13 and 11) during May half-term – our 11th visit at this time of year. Safe to say, we’re loyal fans !Leadership & AtmosphereOne of the standout elements – as always – is the leadership on the ground. It was great to see Sakis back overseeing Porto, alongside responsibility for Dunes and Club. The addition of the new road linking Dunes and Club, with its emerging “food truck” concept, is a smart and modern touch – especially for relaxed lunchtime dining. It’ll be interesting to see how this develops in the former campsite area.Sakis remains a force of nature. His presence is felt everywhere – a relentless focus on detail, combined with genuine warmth and guest engagement. It’s leadership like this that elevates the entire resort experience.Porto itself continues to be brilliantly run by Ethemis, whose care, attention to detail and personal touch make a real difference. Kostas on reception also deserves recognition – not only for pre-arrival support but for going well beyond expectations post-stay, arranging the return of a much-loved (and very important!) forgotten teddy back to the UK, without question. What a star !Service & ExperienceService across the resort continues to be exceptional.Chris (F&B Manager) and his team set the tone – breakfasts at Elia were a highlight, with Riad and Edmundo delivering consistently outstanding service, especially with children.Around the pool, Dennis and his team worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Christina at the pool bar deserves a special mention – seemingly everywhere at once, keeping everything running smoothly from drinks to towels to sunbeds.Food & DiningFood quality remains strong, with a good mix of dine-around and à la carte options.Standouts included:* Beach House – relaxed, Ibiza-style dining done brilliantly* Alvia – a great addition in the marina, replacing Tomato* Ouzeri at Sani Club – still as iconic as ever, with refreshed menu touchesIt was a shame to see Bousoulas Beach Bar no longer open for evening dining – a sunset steak there will be missed. On the menu side, it was encouraging to see some new additions:* Salmon poke bowl (excellent)* More varied lunch options (quesadilla, bao buns, gyoza)However, there is a clear gap:For children aged roughly 10–14, the offer feels caught in the middle. They’ve outgrown nuggets and basic kids’ meals, but many dishes lean heavily into adult flavour profiles (chilli, coriander, chipotle, etc.). Given that a 12-year-old is charged as an adult, there’s a real opportunity to introduce more teen-friendly, healthy, but simpler options. The Big Watch-Out: Value PerceptionIf there’s one area that feels increasingly out of step, it’s the lunch and dinner allowances.* €12.50 (child)* €25 (adult)These simply haven’t kept pace with pricing. When:* A basic pitta + hummus is €14* A kids’ burger is €16* Most adult mains exceed €25…it becomes very difficult to reconcile the concept of “full board”.In reality, most lunches require a top-up – often €30–40+ for a family – before drinks.Over a 10-year period where room rates have clearly increased, the static nature of these allowances is starting to erode credibility. It’s a small but important detail that impacts overall value perception. Why Sani Still Wins for UsDespite this, what keeps us coming back to Sani Resort is simple:Choice + Freedom* 20+ restaurants* Flexible dine-around vs à la carte* A safe environment where kids can gain independenceAt 11 and 13, our daughters can:* Head to the marina themselves* Grab crepes or ice cream with friends* Explore activities like Tree TopsThat balance of family time and independence is incredibly powerful – and something few resorts manage as well. We’re heading back again in a few weeks. Not bad for a 11th visit… or is it the 12th?Either way, we’re looking forward to a bit more of that 5* Sani magic.

    Excellent service. Fantastic holiday

    rating29 Apr 2026

Recently stayed at Porto Sani with our two girls (4 and 2). Last year we stayed at IKOS Olivia. So we knew that the chain would have excellent food and service. However, the level of service especially from our concierge Nikos was exceptional. We left looking to book to come back next year. The food choice was large, loads of activities for kids of all ages. Entertainment was excellent. My only slight negative would be that the vegetarian food was a bit repetitive. This is a top holiday resort for Families and it is easy to see why people come back every year.
