A wonderful beach hotel in the right price range

    rating14 Oct 2025

If you want details, read my detailed review!I have to start by praise the staff at Toroni Blue Sea Hotel, especially the person in charge, Miss Efi. She and her staff really do everything to help their guests with much more than you could wish for and they really make you feel welcome. If you have any questions before booking, don't hesitate to email the hotel and they will answer and help you, we did.Toroni Blue Sea Hotel is a wonderful hotel on the beach of Toroni, with friendly and helpful staff. I can definitely recommend this hotel, also for families with children and for people in wheelchairs or similar. The hotel is open and welcoming, with a small garden, its own pool and parking (the other hotels I've seen are much smaller and not as welcoming or they are large and luxurious with much higher prices). The price here was affordable and included breakfast and dinner. The rooms were clean, nice and spacious, all with private bathrooms and own refrigerators. The hotel does not have a lift, but there is a wide, nice ramp to the first floor, to the pool and a ramp up to the restaurant. There are both superior rooms and family superior rooms on the first floor (all floors probably). I think most rooms have a bathtub, but the family superior rooms have a shower. They are quick to clean and tidy everywhere in the hotel. In the restaurant the staff would put away the trash and dishes as soon as you finished a plate or similar. Both breakfast and dinner consisted of different kinds of food in a buffet that I think should suit all tastes, there were orange slices, watermelon, bread, butter, cheese, ham, sausage, Greek yogurt, jam, cereals, cucumber, tomatoes, salad, olives, olive oil, honey, boiled and fried eggs, soup, fish, chicken, pork, meat, pasta, Greek food, various sweets and ice cream for dessert (which is just a selection of what they served). You can sit both inside and outside and eat, no matter where you sit you have a view of the beach and the Ocean. There is also a toilet close by, both at the restaurant and at the reception. If you want to try other food, there are several tavernas and restaurants in the area. If you are looking for a real genuine Greek feeling, I can recommend the Greek restaurant Angelos Garden at the beginning of Toroni.Toroni has a few small supermarkets and I even saw a few small carousels a short distance from the hotel (they were closed when we were there, at the end of September/beginning of October) and also a playground. During the high season there are bars with live music and dancing in the area (you may need a car), Toroni Blue Sea Hotel has had Greek nights. A little further down the beach from the hotel is Aquarental for those who like water sports. On the beach by the hotel there is a beach bar where you can also rent sun loungers and parasols. There is a nice sandy beach and sandy bottom here in Toroni, the Ocean is green-turquoise. When you go down into the water the sand sometimes forms slightly steep and soft steps, with a height difference of up to about 50 cm in total. Right below the hotel, next to the bar we think it was the easiest to go down, for the person I am travelling with who has a sore ankle and a bit of difficulty with balance. I had no problems anywhere. Otherwise there are always friendly and helpful people everywhere who can offer a hand. As we understood it, it looks like this in principle throughout Sithonia (all of Chalkidiki? or maybe even all of Greece?)To get here, you fly to the capital of Chalkidiki, Thessaloniki.Toroni is located almost at the bottom, on the left, on the "middle finger" Sithonia in Chalkidiki. It is about 130 km and takes about 2 hours to Toroni, the coastal road. I recommend you to rent a car. For us two, it was cheaper to rent a car for two weeks to and from the airport in Thessaloniki than to take an airport transfer, and also much more fun because you can explore the surroundings and try different beaches. For example, we stopped in Neos Moudania and ate at a beach restaurant before we went on to Toroni. We were fascinated by the amount of olive trees we saw everywhere we drove, we came across hordes of goats strolling across the road, it was also noticeable that there is plenty of stone in Chalkidiki, there were many places where they sold garden statues, outdoor grills, small roadside churches (which were also everywhere along the road) etc. We saw beehives in a lot of places along the way, and the hive here was amazing.Note: Some of the car rental companies at the airport had an information van out at the parking lot, some only had a shuttle bus (with high steps) that took you to the office and the cars - without prior information, so be observant and ask. It is also possible to take local buses to Toroni for those who want to explore that option. However, it was not for us with large bags, a walker and difficulty walking. In addition, we had to change buses inside Thessaloniki.Toroni is a small and cute village, with a few shops/supermarkets as I described earlier. Neos Marmaras is about 20 km before Toroni (you pass it when you go to Toroni from Thessaloniki), there is a slightly bigger town with more shops and souvenirs etc for example the nice luxury store Romeo & Juliet. Just make sure you follow the signs all the way to the centre. We almost missed all the shops because we only stayed around the harbour at first. In the area around Porto Carras (after Neos Marmaras, towards Toroni) you can book wine tasting, boat trips and horse riding. Sykia is about 25 km after Toroni, they also have a few more shops than Toroni (note, drive the paved coastal road to Sykia, do not go out on the old road over the mountain).Of course there are some archaeological sites, churches, museums, hiking trails etc. in the area (you may need a car), we even saw a small cave by the beach just before entering Toroni, even though it was not marked on the map from Visit Halkidiki. Toroni has a long sandy beach and walking paths all along the way, for those who enjoy walking.

Everything was wonderful, starting from the view, the room, the staff and the food. The beach bar was clean and the sea was wonderful. The staff was very polite and they were always quick to bring our orders. The manager and the receptionist were willing to help, very nice and polite.

    Do not come here

    rating08 Jul 2025

This place is beyond horrible. I honestly don’t know how it’s still operating. From the start, the staff were incredibly rude, unhelpful, and acted like they couldn’t care less about the guests. We tried to raise serious issues multiple times, and they completely ignored us — like we were an inconvenience. The rooms were filthy — we walked in and were immediately hit by the smell of mildew and mold. The toilet was clogged, the floor was sticky, the bedsheets were stained, and there was hair in the shower. The electrical sockets were hanging out of the walls, sparking when touched — it’s an actual fire hazard. But the worst part? The entire hotel is unsafe. There’s zero security, the hallways are dark, and there were drunk, aggressive guests yelling and banging on doors at night. We witnessed multiple disturbing incidents, including older men harassing and even attempting to touch minor girls. This place is absolutely not safe for women or young people, and it’s shocking how little the staff did — they just stood by and ignored everything. When we tried to report the harassment and unsafe conditions, management had the nerve to try and charge us extra, as if we were the problem for being targeted. Completely unacceptable and sickening. This is not just a bad hotel — it’s a dangerous one. The entire place is a safety hazard, totally mismanaged, and not even close to being livable. I would not recommend this place to anyone, under any circumstances. Please, do not risk your safety by staying here.
