  Upon arrival seemed nice. However a few days in it was clear staff are just out to make you pay for stuff. Food is not amazing to be honest, I’ve had better at other resorts in skala. Staff clearly do not like English people/families and it’s clear there is a division between English guests and Eastern European and how they are treated. Staff tell you one thing in regards to paying for drinks and offer to put it on the room however we want to pay upfront and that seems a problem. We have spent our hard earned money here as half board guests and seem to get bad treatment compared to those who are all inclusive which is odd considering we are paying. Kitchen staff and waiting staff in restaurant are very rude coming over demanding we buy drinks. They also have a cat on site who is clearly in a bad way with multiple open wounds and injured and they aren’t even so much as feeding or giving the poor cat water. Raised my concerns at the desk to be told they will call someone but never did. Just left the poor thing in the heat clearly distressed. They allow Eastern Europeans to bring large speakers to pools/evening entertainment to play their own music however I can imagine if this was an English family this would n or be allowed. Bar staff at the lobby left us 45 minutes to be served yet we watched them come and serve a group of 15/20 other guests and wait on them all because they are “all inclusive” I just find staff very rude the only staff I will speak highly of is the lovely gentleman who drives the mini bus and the life guard. Everyone else is just miserable and clearly doesn’t like English people. We spent €150 for room tax for the “5” star hotel which is far from it as we have stayed at other 5* hotel resorts in Greece and recieved much better and kinder treatment. Kitchen staff at the pool bar left our order on the side for 30 minutes to go cold when they told us they would bring it to us, then when I went to ask about the food I got moaned at for “leaving it here” 30 minutes when I got told they would bring it to me. I am not happy I’ve wasted money on this hotel and will not be returning and suggest other people do the same. I have reported the hotel to the council here and other organisations on the skala Facebook group for the cats who are not being cared for as they simply do not care. The rooms are not really cleaned to a proper standard and the hotel room/balcony/main restaurant and COVERED in ants. Nothing extra added to warrant this being a good experience spa is very basic and so is the gym with equipment that is broken and does not work.

  Worth a visit.

  We booked a Superior Twin room with Sea view, All Inclusive, through Jet2.On the transfer bus we were warned it could take 2 hours, what they didn't mention the state of the roads totally unsuitable for the coach, as it turned out it took an hour and a half, the return took an hour and three quarters.We were quickly through the check in and taken down to our room by buggy.The room itself was very spacious with a large balcony and a great view.The bathroom had a window out into the room which could be covered but a clear glass door on the toilet, so make sure you are comfortable seeing your roommate on the toilet.The bathroom itself could have done with a refresh as it the paint looked old and the sealent was mouldy.We found the food to be excellent in all venues especially the a la carte.The Greek Coffee station at breakfast was great idea.For some reason if you are all inclusive you can't have your lunch at the pool restuarant while the main restaurant is open.The pool is large with plenty of loungers available.The all inclusive drinks available were varied enough, an Apostolata Special became a favourite.All of the staff are very freindly.Entertainment is pretty well none existant.We had a Greek band play one night, they were very good.There is a terraced area beside the sea with a few sunbeds also some steps into the sea so you can go swimming, take a snorkel and mask.The rooms and resort are kept very clean and the gardens look amazing.We took the shuttle bus into Skala a couple of times, it is very handy.Being built on the side of a hill, the resort is very impressive with spectacular views from rooms and restuarants.You will notice ants everywhere unfortunately they are in the outer part of the main restuarant and bar area.We found that although we were all inclusive we had to ask for a key to the safe and the slippers and bathrobe.I also asked for a bulb to be replaced on our first night, this was never fixed.Overall not a 5 star experience but the Apostolsta is worth a visit. , Owner at Apostolata Island Resort & Spa, responded to this review Dear Brian,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your review.We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the spacious room, the views, the food, the pool area, the shuttle service, and especially the friendliness of our team.   Bit of a mixed bag really

  The location might put people off looking at the map but don’t let it. They run a free shuttle bus until 5.20pm into skala and taxis are around €9 back to the resort after that. For us it acted as a base as we like to get out and explore wherever we travel, but for a 4.4 star resort we found it lacking in a few ways. We’d booked bed and breakfast as we knew we’d be out during the day and like to eat locally and while the breakfast was nice and lots of variety, we felt that the staff just didn’t treat us the same as all inclusive guests. If you wanted to order drinks, food at the restaurant etc they seemed dubious about it, when asking you to sign and give your room number so you can settle up at the end. It got insulting by the end of the holiday as if we were untrustworthy with staff being quite authoritative when bringing the bills over and questioning us one night when we went for dinner like ‘you know you have to pay for this? It’s x amount is that not a problem?’And looking at us quizzically. The drinks were great though and the food at the pool cafe was tasty and the staff there were much friendlier. There were several occasions where we were let down with the room: one day we came back from a long day beach hopping and didn’t have any towels in the room. They never restocked our tea and coffee for a whole week, we were told we’d have robes and slippers in the room but didn’t. The room was clean but I wouldn’t say 4.4 star worthy. The hairdryers need updating massively. It sounds like I’m tearing it to bits but honestly we just felt a bit flat about it. The pool area was great and the entertainment lady was fantastic, even though we weren’t really into any of it as only had pool stop offs in between sight seeing, she was really attentive with all guests. On our last day while hanging out by the pool the spa ladies came around really pushy and invading personal space asking if we wanted a treatment which I didn’t appreciate. The website boasts a gym but be mindful it only opens at 9am. We’d actually packed work out gear to get an early morning session in but there’s no way we’d have waited until 9. It has some really nice elements to it, the food being really good, but it would probably appeal more to families and couples who want to stay at the resort a lot, go all inclusive, eat a lot of good food, drink a lot and just stay by the pool all day. Also prepare yourself for a LOT of steps. They will come and get you in the golf buggy but I wouldn’t recommend for anyone who has mobility issues.   Perfect paradise

  We are here now . Arrived yesterday. This is the most beautiful hotel. Lovely staff. Amazing views. Pool is stunning . Plenty of sun beds. Breakfast was good and varied . Non chargeable safe and beach towels. How anyone could leave a bad review I don’t know ?   Paradise hotel

  Hotel was excellent from start to finish. Bar area and outdoor seating phenomenal. Pool area incredible. Always plenty of Sun beds and There are lovely water jets by the pool. The view from the pool to the sea is a real treat. All of the staff absolutely wonderful. Genuine lovely people. The room we had was a little out of date (which we expected from the photo from jet 2 ) so no surprises there. It had a brilliant air con unit and fridge. The bathroom was pretty new and the shower was very good. Maybe just a bit more needed to be invested in the cleaning of rooms for that deep clean-eg backs of cupboards under beds and cobwebs removing. The buffet food was excellent. It was varied for dinner and lovely fresh varied salads and hot foods. There are steps down to the sea for a real sea swimming experience with the fish and rocks. The spa looks nice but we didn’t use. Defo take advantage of the free minibus service which takes you to poros for a day. Have a meal there , it’s a real chilled special little town. Prepare yourself for the tourist tax bill -15 euros per day. They do it at the end of your stay as opposed to the start. I think I’d rather pay at the start of the holiday-like they do in Spain-/portugal.
