  Lovely place , but left feeling a bit let down !

  We arrived at the Dafnoudi midday on the Saturday for a weeks stay from 5th September . The reception was closed up , but a phone number was posted up which we rang to inform of our arrival . Within 15 minutes someone came and showed us to our room .The room ( number 12) was located up 16 steep stairs to a small attic room , we are in our 70's so not able to get up the stairs as we used to , also there was no bannister to hold onto ! However the room was clean and nicely presented with a balcony overlooking the car park , there was plenty of utensils in the little kitchen , the bed was nice & comfy , the shower was great so we overlooked the size of the room , although until we got used to it we did bang our heads on the rafters when we tried to get in and out of the wardrobes , also they had mounted a TV on the end wardrobe door which you had to avoid bumping into . We did ask the next day if we could change rooms ? but the Receptionist said they were fully booked , but if a change became available she would let us know ............?The hotel itself was lovely , the pool was beautiful , we had it to ourselves most of the time , even though we had been told the place was fully booked . It was so quiet , we spent the first 3 days sitting reading under the trees which acted as cover from the sun , it was stunningly beautiful . The pool bar seemed to be closed for the season , no one serving , so we went back up to our room for refreshments. It looked as though a barbecue had been in use and the long tables were placed in this area , it looked as though they were for the breakfast , or had been , because we were told on the first day 'no breakfast ' . When I booked the holiday , I did book it on a room only basis , but was told that breakfast could be arranged on a day to day basis for 'about' 12 euros, but no breakfast ! On the day we left another person asked us where do you go for breakfast , she had been actually charged for breakfasts by her travel agent !We depended on taxi's to get us in and out of Fiskado , it's a long walk (longer than 35 mins) and on a hot day walking along a busy road with no pavements wasn't very inviting . The taxi costs 10 euro's each way . We went into Fiskado a few nights for our evening meal , but would certainly recommend the local taverna The Old Stonehouse about 200 mtrs from the Dafnoudi. We also went on a boat ride to Ithica , which was a lovely day out . On another day we hired a car to enable us to access some of the beaches ( to far to walk). Most of the other guests at the Dafnoudi seemed to have hired a car from the airport for the duration of their stay . We had paid for transfers so just hired a car for a day , 80 euro's, but if I was to do it all over again I would get a car at the airport . Overall we enjoyed Fiskado , the Dafnoudi was a lovely quiet place to stay , but wish it had been a bit closer to the port for us.

  An enjoyable stay at Dafnoudi hotel & apartments, Antipaxa

  Antipaxa where Dafnoudi is situated is in easy reach of Fiscardo. Walking took us about 35 mins. We stayed in room 3, a ground floor studio with a terrace and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious, had aircon, plenty of cupboard space, a fridge and everything needed to self cater if wanted. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily. Towels changed every 3 days. Breakfast was served outside under cover and provided a varied selection of foods. The general atmosphere was quiet and relaxed.

  Super chilled!

  What a super find this hotel was. Less than 5 minutes drive to the harbour in Fiskardo. Super clean. The hotel is run by a lovely family and has everything you need. Rustic Greek charm but the most comfortable bed, a lovely pool, and friendly cats. Our stay has been super chilled and one of my favourite holidays on the island. We will definitely be returning here. Highly recommended.

  BEWARE GREEDY GREEK

  I’ve booked this hotel 3 times now, the 1st time through an agent and then through the owners directly. I’ve always booked the same room which is on the ground floor and has a lovely patio. We’ve had 2 lovely holidays here. We booked while here last year for this year and paid a CASH deposit which is what they prefer, they also prefer you to pay in CASH when you check in . I confirmed everything by email a week before including our booking for room 7. On my arrival I was informed that the room had been given to another guest who had booked the room more times than I had and was offered another room upstairs, all I can say is a heated argument ensued and I was shown the door, then having to look for alternative accommodation. On looking back through earlier guest reviews this is a common occurrence. Obviously they are getting a better price for the room. So if you book early direct with the owner don’t take it for granted that you will get what you booked. The emails requesting cash payments have been forwarded on

  Perfect apartment for a family of 5. The hotel felt really private although they had other guests. More often we had the pool all for ourselves. We had our room arranged every day, but could of been better swept. We did not mind that too much, as we were also bringing sand from beaches. Maybe if they leave a broom in the room, we could do that.
