  Great budget hotel. Staff are fab n very friendly. Rooms basic but adequate. Worth paying extra for the sea view. Pool is great. Really enjoyed the Greek night. Hired a car for the week so we could travel about. Would recommend n stay again .

  Not all bad!

  We stayed for a week on a half board basis.I had read a lot of reviews before booking and found they were very mixed.Yes the hotel is dated but it is spotlessly clean and we found the staff to be really friendly.We upgraded to a superior room, which although small, was perfectly adequate.The bed and pillows were really comfy but there was a lack of storage space.The bathroom had been refurbished and was modern with a lovely shower...Well worth the upgrade.We didn't have high expectations for the food, but always found the food well cooked and fresh.It was typical Greek food so if this isn't your taste and you want a full English breakfast every day then this wouldn't be the hotel for you. The views and scenery were absolutely beautiful as is the whole of Kefalonia.We ate lunch a couple of times in the hotel and found this to be very good.One thing I did think a bit strange was there was no waiter service for drinks..you had to go to the bar yourself which is not typical.Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

  Not even a 3 star - beware if your full board

  We arrived late due to the air traffic control blip. Shared the lift with another couple and it broke down, unfortunately, Tuesday is Greek night and the music was so loud that they had trouble hearing the lift alarm …..eventually we got our - didn’t use the lift again !!! On checking in we were offered water to drink as the lift drama left us hot and bothered.It was pitch black out side and we were handed a map to show where are room was. I insisted they take us there, which they did.If you are not staying in the main hotel building, then the accommodation is in “blocks”, we were allocated a room in block C. In the daylight these “blocks” resemble an Eastern European social housing estate !!!!The rooms are very very basic. One reviewer on here described this block as so bad you would get more privacy in a public toilet, and he’s not far wrong.The beds are really uncomfortable with mattresses like bricks and I ended up with hip pain as I’m a side sleeper.We had a balcony that was tiny and just full of rust two people could not sit outside at the same time but it did have a lovely view. The bathroom was basic with a “shower” being just a hose with a tiny shower head Behind a shower curtain.We had a fridge and a kettle, no cups or coffee or tea, just a random kettle.The room was cleaned daily, and towels changed daily.We spent very little time in the room, just to sleep.There is a tiny tv on the wall but all stations are Greek.There is no WiFi signal in these blocks only in the reception area in the main building and only two plug sockets in the room and nothing either side of the bed.Breakfast has been described on this site as very poor, and it certainly is. Someone described the toaster as broken, well it’s been taken away and not fixed so no toast for a week. The “hot” food was never hot and such a poor choice.So we were full board based on the fact that there is no where else to eat nearby unless you have a car. As we just wanted to lay by the pool and chill we went full board.Lunch time was the usual chips and salads - no dessert.Dinner, like breakfast for the full boarders Was buffet style again nothing ever hot,and the choice of only one dessert - cake every night for a week. No ice cream no fruit salad nothing just cake. When I mentioned how poor this was to one of the managers as they started serving the same cake every night he said I’ll go to the kitchen and see what I can do, great we thought we may get something else but no he came out with more cake.!!!!The pool is lovely very clean but the sun loungers are very poor quality as are the umbrellas. We tried to play table tennis but the table only had three legs and the bats had no rubber on them.The place has a look ok tiredness and just neglect. It doesn’t deserve three stars at all.At dinner nearly every night we were ignored neither of the two “waiters”, would clear out dirty plates or ask us if we would like more drinks in fact they never said anything at all - it was so bad it was funny - trying to dismantle our table whilst we were still eating.At dinner the tables are not laid, no salt and pepper or serviettes, you have to go and get it yourself it’s just really really bad service. The beach is an easy walk a few minutes away down the hill and it gets busy at the weekends - we are in our 60’s and the walk back up is not too bad. There is a little taverna down by the beach open from 12-5pm. The views are beautiful by the pool and although we would never return we had a good week and just laughed at how bad it was.

  Read before you book!

  I booked this hotel as part of package with TUI who I rate highly but unfortunately the hotel let us and TUI down.Rooms were older style, some mornings there was no hot water and we could hear everything upstairs like chairs scraping the floor and most disturbing was the sound of visitors being sick.Food was the biggest let down, the worst choice I have ever experienced.No full English breakfast but some days we were offered fried eggs,bacon and baked beans.We were half board and our evening meal consisted of a choice of two meats and vegetables with chips offered once in the week. One pudding and watermelon every night and that’s it.No water available or offered.Ants in your room and wasps at meal time are the norm.Told we had a safe but it was €15 a week.Plus points, friendly and helpful staff and good grounds in an expensive area.You need transport to stay here and luckily the reception will help you with this for free. Plenty of parking.

  Staff are lovely - but that's about it

  Stayed here for 9 nights and booked through Easyjet Holidays. Pros- Staff across the hotel are really lovely, from reception to cleaning to catering staff. They honestly went out their way to help with anything and are the most positive thing - I was very impressed with all their professionalism and friendliness.- The hotel, bedroom and restaurants are very clean.- Drinks are fairly affordable and not extortionate prices in the hotel- The pool area is OK for a quiet small hotelCons- The food choice and quality was really, really, really poor. Nothing like other hotels we've stayed in in Greece - there were only about 8 trays per evening, and the choice of dessert was either slices of watermelon, or a dessert (largely the same thing each evening). For breakfast, it was so limited, don't expect either a full english, or a full continental buffet, but some weird very limited hybrid of the two. And most bizarrely, no toaster whatsoever in the hotel, so bread only!!! Thankfully as the food choice was so poor, I didn't end up putting on that much weight! - The nearest beach is rather dull, very limited space and the walk back to the hotel requires great fitness up a steep hill. The sea is good and interesting for snorkling for one day, but best to get a rental car, otherwise you will get very bored. - The decor and furniture hasn't been updated since the 1990s. Our air conditioning in the room barely worked and it was often hot in the evenings. My parents had a new unit in their room so theirs was much cooler.- You do have to pay for your own safety deposit box, but to be honest this is becoming a regular thing across Greece, so isn't just unique to the hotel.All in all, I wouldn't go back here or recommend it. It wasn't atrocious, and didn't ruin the holiday, but thank goodness we had a car to escape during the day.... I thought for the price overall it wasn't good value for money.
