  My favourite hotel!

  In July 2025 I got married in Lixouri. We chose to stay at La Cite due to having a party of 40 and it being a smaller hotel, we could all fit and almost take over. It was a perfect week. The hotel is authentically Greek. Rooms are cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedding every other day. The breakfast is all you need from cereal, toast, eggs and bacon - a lot better than other Greek hotels I have stayed at. The pool/outside area is perfect, well kept and plenty of sunbeds. The staff will do everything possible to make your stay a good one. Lixouri itself is lovely, a square and harbour full of restaurants, bars and shops - all you could need. The ferry port is easily accessible with boats across to Argostoli every 30 minutes. Thank you to all at La Cite, it will forever be a special place. I am booked to come back next July and i cannot wait!

  I would return here, the pros outweigh the cons.

  We have just returned from two weeks in this small and friendly hotel.The location was perfect, within easy reach of Lixouri centre with shops bars and restaurants.The pool area was lovely, no problem getting a sun lounger and no loud music playing, and very clean. Very peaceful.The rooms were adequate, cleaned daily, decent enough fridge shower and air conditioning. Our room was facing east so perfect to watch the sunrise.The bathroom was very dark. We felt the hotel could do with a spruce up and new brighter bathrooms.The friendliness of the staff really stood out, we were welcomed like family and nothing was too much trouble.However, (and please take this as constructive feedback ) the breakfast could be improved with little effort. It consisted of the choice of three cereals, Greek yoghurt and tinned peaches (everyday) there was a bowl of fresh fruit, would have been nice to have a fresh fruit salad.I didn’t have a “hot” breakfast which consisted of omelettes one day and scrambled egg the next. This was made around 7.30 ish but was not served on a hotplate, same with the bacon so they were always cold. There was also cold hard boiled eggs. Same cold meat and cheese every day, never any tomato, lovely fresh bread.

  Very nice small hotel right in the middle of Lixouri centre. The hosts were friendly, helpful and very much amenable in every way. As an adults only establishment, this was a very quiet hotel. We highly recommend this place, and will be back!!

  We booked la cite as a last minute deal for my bday we usually go all inclusive but thought we would give bed and breakfast a whirl..the rooms are dated however the hospitality totally makes up for this..janeta is amazing..the whole feel of the place is fantastic..your called by name definitely not just a number it's a totally friendly..fit straight in kind of vibe..nothing is too much for them..breakfast has warm crossaints and scrambled egg or omelette the rest is fruit,ham,cheese, cereal etc however I do believe you can pay for sausage etc I didn't bother..I did buy some fries in the hotel on an afternoon..massive portion fed two. The balcony is small but tbf we didn't use it much anyhow..it's literally a two minute walk to the square and the seafront..the whole place is idyllic..round the pool was amazing so chilled no chew for a sunbed even if you went out with your towel later in the day! Even all the guests were lovely it was just a total chill vibe! We will definitely go back!

  Wonderful little hidden gem of a hotel with marvellous staff

  Wonderful little gem of a hotel. Only a five minute walk to square and 10 minutes to ferry. Room was spotless and the cleaning team and reception staff were very friendly and helpful. A little old fashioned but that’s ok.Pool area was lovely with plenty of beds, both around the pool and in the well kept garden area.Breakfast was basic but adequate but get there early if you want hot food and croissants before it’s all gone.Huge shout out to 2 members of staff in particular, namely Tasa and Thelka. . 2 beautiful, lovely ladies who not only helped my fiancé with Greek lessons but also Greek dancing!The hotel is blessed to have these 2 ladies in the team. They bent over backwards to make the holiday special. We miss you already ladies but Gary and myself hope to be back to see you for more lessons.
