Hospitable but also a bit pretentious

Situated on the edge of Vallinos Square in Argostoli, the capital city of Kefalonia, we found this hotel to be hospitable but also a bit pretentious. You enter into a grand hallway/reception area with a large winding staircase and nice oriental looking decor. Once upstairs this atmosphere changes into a disappointing and less inspiring bland and industrial looking functional space. Our room was rather small so we had to be economical where to put our suitcases. The tea/coffee making facility consisted of a tray with a cooker, placed on the little desk. To use it we had to place the tray on the ground near the balcony door where the only power outlet was to be found. The bathroom had a number of fixtures that urgently needed fastening - towels and toilet rolls where constantly in danger of dropping down (with hooks and all).The breakfast buffet was well balanced and offered an ample choice of items. Alas it was the breakfast room that let you down as it was small and inefficiently used. Only on the second day you got your bearings, looking up and down in the compact area where breakfast items were displayed. There was an outside space, but then you had to take your breakfast quite some distance through the hotel's reception area.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The hotel is excellent, very clean, and in a great location. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety, and the staff provided amazing service. Highly recommended

The Mirabel is a nice little city centre hotel and worth a try if staying in the area. The plus points 1; Good location just off the main square and 200m from the town main shops and the harbour for the boats and turtles 2; The staff are lovely and very helpful especially Lefarious or Lefty and the Lady on reception. 3; Great Aircon 4; Breakfasts are good quality but very limited selection 5; Lots of restaurants nearby. The not so good points. 1; The hotel doors slam and are noisy and on a Friday and Saturday we experienced loud music from a nearby bar/club until the early hours. 2; The beds are very firm 3; Breakfast area is very small and gets congested when busy 3; Rooms are a little dated. None of the points I’ve just mentioned take away the fact it’s a nice hotel in a nice location with lovely staff.

Perfect location, great hotel

Perfectly located hotel, in walking distance of shops, restaurants, turtle viewing, Da Bosset Bridge. Really enjoyed our stay here, room had plenty of space and a lovely view. The staff were very friendly and our room was ready early which was fantastic after a 3am start to our travelling day.! Would stay here again….. oh and the breakfast was lovely ??

A simply exceptional stay in every way!We couldn't have asked for a better holiday in Kefalonia! Hotel Mirabel exceeded all our expectations, starting from its fantastic location right in the central square. It is perfectly situated close to the port, making it super convenient for boat trips, excursions, and the ferry to Lixouri, while also being right by the bus stop and Lithostroto, the main pedestrian street. The room was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, and featured a lovely little terrace where we could relax.A heartfelt thank you goes to the entire staff—incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. I am truly sorry I can't remember everyone's names, as each of them made our stay special. However, I must give a special mention to Roza at breakfast: a sweet and lovely person who delighted us every morning with an exceptional and delicious breakfast! A huge thank you also goes to the boss, Jerry: a wonderful person who went above and beyond with rare kindness, even taking us to the airport. I am absolutely thrilled with this experience and will recommend this hotel to everyone. When I return to Kefalonia, I will definitely stay here again!
