    No pool or pool bar

    rating06 Jul 2019

Arrived to find a pool not in use or no pool bar we got into our apartment and it faced onto a hedge. Room basic need updating see pictures below there was a large board screwed to wall looked like it was blocking door way into next apartments mold in bathroom don't even want to tell u about the toilet brush yuk!!!!! there also must have been a leak to as there were signs of this is room. No toaster just a rusty hob and kettle Workmen rent rooms through the week very noisy there alarms going off at 5am banging around in there apartments at all hours of the night not good when u pay for a relexing holiday. Sheets and towels changed once in a week. We used astra village facilities which is about ten minutes walk from these apartments. False advertising this apartments there no spa which is also advertised on some sites. We were told there there is legal issues with the owner and the brothers to do with money and its going through court that's why is run down and no pool etc. Its not worth the money we paid avoid you will find better apartments for the same price shop about

2nd time we have stayed at the apartments. The staff are very helpful and kind, it is in a rural location which is 30 minute walk to the beach. Very clean, basic accommodation which is in a very quiet location. There is a pool but it wasn’t in use at our time of staying this time, I think they just have it in use in summer high season. If you like walking and being in a quiet location this is the place for you. There is also a small animal farm close by. Free wi-fi is available but you need to be close to owners apartments to get best signal.

I very much enjoyed staying here, a car would be advisable in order to make life easier. I believe there is a limited bus service into town, Argostoli. The tv did not work however the programmes would be in Greek !

Lack of customer service and facilities - mosquitos a BIG problem!

    rating25 Aug 2018

My friend and I stayed here 13/08/18 - 20/08/18 and I can honestly say that I could not have stayed here another night! We arrived in the afternoon after a 3 and a half hour flight after being dropped off by our taxi transfer. There was no one in sight to greet us and it was only after about 5 minutes of walking around and shouting "hello?" that someone came out to greet us. This is because there is no reception area (more on that later). We were shown to our room (number 11) and basically left to it. There were no proper introductions or advice on what to do if we needed anything. The room itself was ok - it's a basic apartment so you get what you pay for really. Considering it was meant to be a self catering apartment though, the cooking facilities had definitely seen better days (it looked about 30 years old). It consisted of 2 very old hob rings and a kettle. The bathroom was a little old and could have done with re-tiling and the toilet seat was hanging off.The apartments were advertised as having a pool and pool bar (this has since been updated). The only water in our pool was stagnant water at the bottom which seemed to be home to frogs, dragonflies and mosquitos. It was a disgusting green/brown colour and my friend and I were bitten none stop throughout our week-long holiday by the mosquitos breeding in the pool; they seemed to be immune to any of the repellents that we tried. The pool bar, which I believe also doubles as a reception was shut throughout the holiday. Our apartment bins were not emptied until the third day and they were overflowing. The apartment was not cleaned once during our stay and our towels were only changed because we left them in a pile outside our door with a note asking for them to be changed (I think they must have felt bad about it because our bed sheets were changed that day too).As mentioned before, the pool was empty but there were no safety procedures in place to ensure that no one fell in - there were lights around the pool at night but they were not switched on! Massive health and safety risk! Anyone coming back in the dark after a few drinks could quite easily slip and fall into the "pool" not to mention children. We booked a trip whilst we were there and the agent emailed our hosts with our trip tickets. They also tried ringing several times but to no avail. We never did get our tickets, the trip agent had to let us on without them. In conclusion, this place could be lovely but unfortunately the lack of customer service and facilities let it down badly. We spoke to other people who were staying there at the same time as us and none were happy with the place. If you want to stay in this area I would consider staying at the Astra, which is about a 10 minute walk away from these apartments. We spent a lot of our time there as the pool is open to the public. The customer service is excellent and the food in the restaurant is to die for!
