  The following is a true review of what was actually experienced. It was so bad checked out after day 3 due to poor customer service (in fact none), the filthy apartment allocated and went elsewhere at our choosing/cost. To be some context to the review the property has huge potential to a shining gem for its beachfront quiet location but the rooms fall short of the basics.- [ ] Room 5 ground floor- [ ] On arrival no bath mat, kitchen towel, tea spoons or spatula had to request them. Photo of kitchen towel attached - completely unacceptable standard of basic hygiene. Raised these concerns with the only person onsite called “Maria”the following day as the premises were uncontactable and no reception whatsoever. Their response was to blame the laundry they use and provided with another stained item!- [ ] When pulling back top covers from bed was absolutely shocked to say the least with what was found. The pillow case was covered in disgusting stains of sorts whether human or not this is utterly disgusting and completely unacceptable. A complete failure in basic health and hygiene standard. This cannot be accepted to the point cannot sleep there. As aforementioned raised concerns and was given a replacement stained item!!- [ ] The sofa in kitchen area is stained across entire surface and worn. Unacceptable- [ ] On arrival we had to clean the shelves in bathroom as they were covered in used soap/shower gel residue. The bathroom sink plug doesn’t work and towel rail hanging off wall- [ ] Horrible smell from toilet/shower drains- [ ] Socket at bedside table only works when light switch is switched on- [ ] Stove is notably dated needs replacing as struggles to heat - [ ] The only pan had an unsafe handle and was no use for frying an egg not that there was any suitable utensil to use!- [ ] The single beds are done, brick hard and feel the springs so challenging sleep- [ ] Entire fixture and fittings are very tired and worn in need of complete refurbishment - [ ] Outside furniture dirty and stained- [ ] No privacy on ground floor apartments whatsoever - [ ] As an aside and as per booking instructions made 3 attempts to contact the accommodation prior to arrival, twice by email and once by telephone. Received no reply. Unacceptable. Who is the actual primary contact/reception?- [ ] Attitude and manner of Maria the cleaner was rude and dismissive Made representations to the accommodation so there was an agreement to move rooms however this did not happen for whatever reason as the person Maria doesn’t speak English and was dismissive.In summary of the opinion this property does not match description and fails to meet a basic level of hygiene standard. Do not be fooled by reviews suggesting a 9 or 10 or 5 star nor the beach front location as the main factor is a comfortable and clean room as a minimum. Yes, the property has incredible potential but why invest in a bar and pool when disregarding the poor condition of rooms and guest comfort given it has the sea steps away?! The owners must reflect on the fact hard working persons spending earned money to travel for a vacation deserve much better than this. Awful experience.

  Amazing location and great spot! If you really want to relax and enjoy the best beach, quiet and relaxing. Sometimes on the beach it was only our family and during the night can sleep with open doors hearing the sea. The best taverna Ampeli on walking distance, fresh fruits 5 min walk, supermarket with cheap prices 10 min walk and Tigaki 20 min walk. Maria great cleaning, Tasos looking after the property and Kostas thank you for organising the best boat trips. Highly recommend the place for best holidays and definitely will be back

  Great vacation in Tigaki

  Family friendly, great peaceful location with private beach and free sunbeds. Bus stop just outside with connection to Tigaki and Kos city. And thanks a lot to Maria who is always so helpful and smiling!

  Clean apartment in quiet location

  Very clean apartment in a nice quieter end of Tigaki beach. The beds are hard and uncomfortable . There is no kitchen washing up gear like dishcloths or tea towels or detergent. Also no shampoo supplied. Apartment neat and clean but very basic. Good location if you don't want to party and if you want a good nights sleep. You can hear the waves as its right on the beach and also use the pool next door. There is a bus stop right outside for transport to Kos and pick ups for tours. The owners are very helpful but a bit hard to contact if you don't have a phone.

  Probably the finest apartments we have stayed in and good value too

  My wife and I spent 4 weeks here in late September/October. At that time only a few apartments were occupied at any one time so it was pleasantly quiet and peaceful and it is hard to imagine it would ever be noisy here.First, the locatiion. The building stands in its own grounds adjoining the beach and a road, next door (well separated) to an hotel. (The hotel has a small shop but it closed at the end of September as did the hotel). It is conveniently close to one of the finest restaurants on Kos, Ampeli taverna (which I have also reviewed). Be aware that the apartments are about 2km from Tigaki centre, which is quite a walk if you do not have a car (we did not and didn't fancy the walk especially as there is no footway in places).The Building. The apartments are all recently refurbished and it shows. They have been nicely decorated, are comfortable and quite well equipped, with a TV (Greek TV only), air conditioning/heating, fitted (and very efficient) hair dryer and ample lights and power sockets. Our kitchen had a refrigerator with a small frozen food compartment, an electric kettle, a filter coffee maker (which we didn't use) and a double electric ring. The latter has one standard ring and one small ring for a briki pot. For us, staying 4 weeks and hoping to cook often, this wasn't quite enough but it would be adequate for most people, especially staying for less time or with more money to spend on eating out. In an ideal world, a microwave oven would have been really great but we've never yet had one in a Greek apartment...We had a nice bathroom with a very good shower.Furnishings are tasteful and the beds comfortable. The apartment has a small verandah or balcony with table and chairs. The grounds have a number of sunshades of various kinds, although there are none on the beach itself, where one has to rely upon the shade from the tamarisk trees. Sunbeds of various kinds (all comfortable) are generously placed in the gardens and on the edge of the beach. There is a large (grass) car parking area. The apartments are on three floors with external staircases to the first and second floors leading to a landing on each floor where in most cases there is room to sit out. As this resort is on the north of the island and the wind during our stay was frequently from that direction, we found ourselves often sitting out on the oposite (south) side of the building to soak up the sun. Also, in the autumn, the sun being lower it lasts longer on the south side.The room had both double glazed sliding doors and sliding shutters making it possible to darken the rom for resting or sleeping. There was no mosquito netting screens to the doors but we had no problems with the insects during our stay.Housekeeping is in the capable hands of Maria who attended the property every day except Sundays and who kept our apartment clean and fresh, regularly replenished towels, toilet paper etc and made our beds. She is a remarkable, friendly lady with enough English to get by and we had lots of lovely conversations with her. She was also kind enough to bring us food of various kinds on several occasions. The owners too were most kind and generous and clearly take a close interest in the apartments, the comfort of their guests and the upkeep of the building and grounds.We would not hesitate to recommend the Byron Apartments and if we do not return ourselves when in Kos it would only be due to the distance from Tigaki, although there is an hourly bus service via the town to Kos town and a taxi to Kos town cost up about 17 Euros.Very highly recommended!
