Wonderful Gaia Gardens Hotel - A Loving Home in Paradise, Kos

    rating03 Nov 2025

21st July 2025 & 13th October 2025I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the wonderful Gaia Gardens Hotel not once, but twice this year – first in July with my two teenage daughters (aged 14 and 16), and again in October as a solo traveller. From the moment we arrived, Gaia Gardens felt less like a hotel and more like a loving home tucked away in paradise. What initially drew me to Gaia Gardens was its small, family-run charm, nestled in beautiful, peaceful grounds. As a single mum travelling with two daughters, feeling safe and at ease was paramount – and Gaia Gardens delivered this in abundance. The warmth and hospitality from the team made us feel instantly welcome and cared for.Our room was fabulous – recently renovated, spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and blissfully quiet. It was the perfect retreat after days spent exploring or relaxing. The restaurant was another highlight: fresh, flavourful food with plenty of choice, served in a relaxed and friendly setting. Every meal felt like it was made with love. The bar team were absolutely fabulous – always friendly, engaging, and ready with a smile. Whether you were enjoying a drink or just passing by, there was always someone to chat to, which made the atmosphere feel so warm and sociable. It’s rare to find a place where you feel so genuinely connected to the people around you.One of my personal favourites was the open-air rooftop gym – what a way to start the day, working out with stunning views all around. It added a unique and energising touch to the experience. The location is ideal: just a 15–20 minute walk to Kos Town, and only 3–5 minutes to Lampi Beach and local shops. I also hired a car from 'Gaia Explorer Rent A Car', conveniently located in the hotel reception – a brilliant safe and friendly service with the best insurance that made exploring the island easy and enjoyable. Both visits were truly special, and I can’t wait to return next season. Gaia Gardens is a gem – a place where you’re not just a guest, but part of a family. Thank you to everyone at Gaia Gardens for making it such a wonderful, memorable place to stay.Highly recommended – with all my heart.Katie, Sophia & Daisy (21st July 2025 & 13th October 2025) Matina Christodoulidi, General Manager at Gaia Garden Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest of Gaia Garden,On behalf of the entire team of Gaia Garden Hotel, we wish to thank you for your comments which help us to improve your expectations in order to offer an ideal environment for your vacation. We hope to create the best memories with you and see you in the nearest future in our beautiful island !Kind Regards, Matina Christodoulidi General Manager

    Second home 🥰

Just back from another fantastic holiday at Gaia Garden! A very warm welcome ,as always 😊 Immaculate gardens, spotless rooms, excellent food choices, especially for vegetarian/vegans.It was lovely to see & meet up with friends from different countries, & enjoyed many great nights at the bar, again being taught Greek dancing by Sotiris! The hotel itself remains unique, however this time I was a little disappointed with the surrounding area, finding alot of rubbish, overflowing bins etc( not involved with the hotel). It won't stop me coming, as I've already booked for May & October next year.Keep up the good work, enjoy the rest over winter, see you in May xx Matina Christodoulidi, General Manager at Gaia Garden Hotel, responded to this review Dear Mrs Katyhy, On behalf of the entire team of Gaia Garden Hotel, we wish to thank you for your positive comments which prove that we managed to fulfill the needs of your expectations and succeeded to offer an ideal environment for your vacation. We hope to create the best memories with you and see you in the nearest future in our beautiful island !Kind Regards, Matina Christodoulidi General Manager

Worst drinks in over 30 years all inclusive

    rating20 Oct 2025

First of all I must say that all staff from bar, restaurant, maids etc were all first class. However, the apartment I was given was supposed to be a single apartment with a balcony/terrace and garden view. What I was given was a basic apartment which was clean so I had no problems with that. What I thought was disgraceful was that there was no balcony/terrace. What it had I would describe as a bunker, where you were sat below ground level with your head just above ground level. i had a lovely view of a hedge directly opposite me which was no view at all. One day to cap it all, a cat decided to come by my balcony and do its business right in front of me. Not very nice when your head is in line with the cat's behind. The shower was something else also, I have never had a shower joint tap on one wall and the shower head stand on another wall. It left a trailing hose going across the bath which isn't good for health and safety, asking for trouble immediately. The other thing I found totally disgusting is the quality of the drinks in the all inclusive. I know there is no gin, but that didn't bother me personally. I found the beer was as weak as piss. It was no more than 2.8%, a little more than alcohol free. All the spirits were all of a very weak quality also. I think they are actually brewed in a lock up garage in Kos town because it was noticeable that every time one was poured all the bar staff conveniently covered the labels with their hands when pouring so no one could actually see the make of this dross. I have been to all inclusive all over Europe for over 30 years, and ok you don't expect Belgian, German or Czech quality beers, but I have had San Miguel, Estrella, Cruzcampo, Efes etc all quality drinks on all inclusive, but I honestly have to say this is the worst I have ever tasted in my life. As for the food it was hit and miss sometimes it was tasty, sometimes awful although not a large selection to your usual all inclusive, but you could always muster something up. The Greek night food was tasty and to be fair the gyros were one of the best I've tasted but that is only 1 night. I like fish but it looked horrendous all week, and one day was in some green sludge which could be best described as slimer from Ghostbusters. The accommodation is quite isolated down a dark track which you get cars and motorbikes speeding up and down, but it is only a 20 minute walk to Dolphin Square. I do not normally write reviews but felt I had to on this occasion. I seen a similar review recently about the quality of the drink. I wish that review would have been written before I booked. I booked my holiday with Easyjet and I have told them they should visit these places and ensure what they are advertising is a correct description of the accommodation and facilities. Would I go again - never Matina Christodoulidi, General Manager at Gaia Garden Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very pleased to read that you found our staff at the bar, restaurant, and housekeeping to be first class, as providing warm and attentive hospitality is always a top priority for us.We are truly sorry to hear that your overall experience did not fully meet your expectations. The room you were allocated is primarily a single room with a double bed, renovated within the last five years. Although located on the ground floor, it does feature a balcony/terrace space. We were informed during your stay that you might prefer a different room type, and we gladly provided a room into the first floor as requested. Regarding the drinks offered in our All-inclusive progam we would like to point out that it is advertised in all tour operators about the variety and quality. In any case we continuously review the quality and variety of our beverages, and your remarks have already been shared with our team for improvement. Guest safety and comfort are always at the forefront of our efforts, and we apologize if any aspect fell short during your visit. We genuinely regret that you left with a disappointing impression and that you do not intend to return. It would be our pleasure to have the opportunity in the future to welcome you back and provide you with a stay that reflects the high standard of service and hospitality we strive for.Warm regards,Matina Voukelatou ChristodoulidiGeneral Manager Gaia Garden Hotel

    Don't fall ill there

    rating08 Oct 2025

firstly the positives, the food was very good And the receptionists and the bar staff were lovely, especially the receptionist miguela, she was fabulous, one thing that really annoyed me was the bar with stools all across the front, not what I'm used to,you had to try to fight your way through the Germans sat down hogging it to get a drink, they should have a sign up saying get your drink and move away, the first room we were given was not much bigger than a brick garden shed and we paid for private sunbeds which were not private the view was staring into someone else's room about 8 feet away, it's not what was advertised,we got moved after a couple of days to a much better room thanks to Irene from Jet2 ,she was amazing, All the TV channels are German except for one sky news, which i had on for an hour one day as there was a storm ,the hotel has no plan in place if someone fails ill or even worse passes away, which happened in front of me and my partner unfortunately,we did everything to help, very upsetting, there was no wheelchair to try and move her,no stretcher, the staff weren't aloud to touch her because of policy apparently even though this poor woman was grey and almost lifeless, they couldn't get an ambulance so they rang a taxi which turned up after about 15 minutes,me and a couple of other Brits got her into the taxi, says it all really as we were the only British there ,I asked If a member of staff could go with the woman and her poor husband who was German and couldn't speak English but they only had 3 staff on so they couldn't, anyway we asked at reception later and unfortunately the woman had died by the time we got her into the taxi, when I spoke to the manageress who I later found out was the owner All she kept saying was that the lady had signed herself out of hospital and it wasn't there fault,no sympathy and definitely a lack of compassion, shocking,as I said only go here If you are feeling 100 per cent fit because if anything happens your on your own Matina Christodoulidi, General Manager at Gaia Garden Hotel, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to read that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify some important points mentioned in your review.First of all, please note that our hotel provides several English-speaking TV channels, including international news and entertainment options.Regarding your room and the private sunbeds, all room types and facilities are clearly described and illustrated with real photographs on all official websites and through our tour operator partners. The room you originally booked fully corresponded to the room type reserved. Nevertheless, as a gesture of goodwill, we offered you a complimentary upgrade to a triple room.Concerning the unfortunate incident you referred to, we would like to clarify that we had been informed the previous day that the lady was not feeling well. The following day, during midday when staffing levels are naturally lower, we were suddenly notified by other guests that she was unwell in the garden area. When our team arrived, several guests (around six people) were already gathered closely around her, which made it difficult for staff to intervene safely. Actually we were surprised how they got out of hospital. The unfortunate woman was wearing still a bracelet on her hand ( normally in this situation , you are not allowed to leave the hospital)We immediately called an ambulance, but unfortunately it was delayed due to another emergency in the area. To ensure faster assistance, we arranged a taxi to take the lady to the hospital as quickly as possible.Lastly, we would like to mention, with all due respect, that your behavior towards our staff during this stressful situation was perceived as quite unkind, despite their genuine efforts to assist. We always strive to offer the best possible service to all our guests and are truly sorry that you left with a different impression.Thank you !
