  to say it is basic is a compliment.no air con,no door locks on balcony,no facilities ,breakfast not worth having,bedroom poor condition ,lift not working,bar empty,door locks old and inconsistantly locking,security and desk left unattended and all room keys available to anyone.showers and bathroom in poor condition ,shower curtains marked and old.loud tv on all night by owner poor sleeping. hotel on busy road and very noisy.I would not consider this hotel again and was very dissapointed ,think and look again. fridge noisy and had to turn off to get any sleep . no fans or air con so rooms too hot at night.

  We live very close to Galaxy Hotel so whilst we have never stayed here we regularly call in for drinks. It has a very comfortable, elevated terrace where you can sit and watch the world go by. The owner,Michael, is a very entertaining and funny host.We will continue to drink here with Michael and recommend it to anyone.

  Almost every year I visit one of Greek islands, so I know what can I expect for payed price but I had a very bad experience with this hotel. I cannot find anything positive to tell, but fortunately Kos is beautiful island and you do not have to spend much time in the accommodation. Location of the hotel is not so bad, but although you have only 10 min walk to the nearest city beach (we could't use it because of the refugees) it is still placed in very dark neighborhood. Center is 20 min and supermarket 7 min walking distance. Hotel lobby smelled like clamminess - furniture is very old. WiFi was available only near the reception so you had to spend time in the lobby, also it was very slow and if more than 5 people was connected to it- it was terrible. Owner who is working at the reception and the bar all day long was unfriendly and disoblige (although I read some comments that owner is cool...). Rooms-too small, smelly-again to clamminess, with very old beds and mattress, overall - not so clean. Bathroom was miniature - they had to make a hole in the door so it could be closed because of the sink. Breakfast is bad (every morning you had boiled eggs, one type of pork ham, one type of yellow cheese, bred and jam-that is it). We got room in the ground floor with street view (with transparent curtains) and we felt very uncomfortable -you could't find the corner where you could change clothes and not be seeing from the street and it was very loud -you could hear every passerby and car. When we reserved this hotel, we asked for a room in upper floor, and even at the time we got confirmation - the owner refused to fulfill our wish and placed us on the ground floor. Second day we came to agreement - owner agreed to move us from this "street room". I will never forget owner's comment: "if you do not like next room you can pack your stuff and leave the hotel". We payed for this hotel in advance and I was ready to change hotel just because of his attitude... However, our friend stayed in this hotel so we stayed. He gave us apartment -again on the ground floor but behind main building so it was more private and quiet. This room was bigger, although with the same smell. Once we opened the bathroom window and we find out that it is useless because second house wall is 1 inch from it and it was filled with disgusting cocoons and bugs. After that we had cockroaches in the bathroom...We rent a car and tried to avoid any communication with owner and to spend as less as possible time in accommodation.

  Hotel is 5 min far from main beach in kos center, breakfast continental, owner funny guy working all day at reception and bar.. nice place and interesting people, you can seat in evening and watch tv in nice garden or you can go to kos center 10 min far by foot :)

  the owner Michael,what a bloke a legend, hotel immaculate, service very good, location 8/10 minute walk to beach, downside no pool but michaels brother owns Poseidon hotel 40/50mts up the road which you can use, also his facilities ,poseidon b/q night really good.food v/goodthe hotel is a family run place and you can really tell, it is so friendly and laid back was there june this year will be returning September
