    The Grand Blue Beach is a clean hotel. The rooms are very good and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. The view from our balcony was spectacular.However we don't beleve the hotel merits the stars it has received (Jet2 4.5, Hotel 5).The food is very repetative and not the best I've had from previous lower rated hotels. The all-inclusive choice between meal times amounted to a few biscuits and pastries. Again at other hotels we have received a far more extensive range.The main problem with the hotel, which cannot be helped is its location. It is built on a hillside which, while quite a steady climb at first is extremely steep towards the top and not suitable for anyone with slight mobility issues.     Premier inn serves better food

    A superior room was booked (for 3 people) even though it was just myself & my son. After a room change from a double, we ended with a twin room! Rooms are clean & tidy. Bring your own hairdryer as the hotel ones take 4 attempts to dry short hair as it cuts out! Also it's a shower over a bath, if you have mobility issues, this is a no. The rooms are in blocks within the complex , ours was upstairs, so no handrail, just the wall edge to hold onto. The beach towel is in your room & it does not get changed during your stay. At the start of our holiday, we waited 2 days for a room clean & fresh towels, now it's a daily clean. The complex is beautifully kept however if you have any health issues with steep walking think twice as the restaurant is up cardiac hill as we named it! We were told at reception on arrival the mini market is there to buy nibbles if you wish , it's not even open, the building is getting refurbished to open soon. So walk into the village, lots to see, but & eat. We used the sea breeze bar. This is where the evening entertainment is too. The sport part of volleyball or tennis is bring your own or play with people it's not a hotel led sport. The music at sea breeze stops at 2.30 every day , then silence! The barman at sea breeze in the evening is lovely, smiley happy to see you compared to the one in the day, she hardly smiles and everything is an effort. The food...is a waste of paying for all inclusive. I can cook better at home! The lunch options at sea breeze are hit or miss. The ice cream is extremely soft to be warned. You ask for nuts from the staff. The main restaurant, I would call it a canteen. The staff never smile, if you ask for a 3rd glass of wine, the looks you get. Every time we went/go for dinner , a table has to be cleaned before we can eat. The choices are not great. We gave up on the breakfasts after day 1 & just went for evening meals. The Gala night on Monday , was explained as a grand affair...they added white tables clothes, glasses on a table with a cherry inside not given to us with still miserable faces if you asked for anything, not sure what the fuss was for. Can recommend Skala for breakfasts and meals as we went there for something hot. As non of the meals in the restaurant are hot, they are just warm..I booked this for my son's 21st birthday, so it's been a disappointment. The info in the rooms are limited, so get restaurant times, etc from reception. Beautiful complex but not worth being a 5 star.     exceptional holiday in the grand blue hotel kardamena

    Just finishing our two week vacation at the grand blue hotel in kardamena can’t fault it in any way it’s been amazing a little quiet first week but has got better now ,staff were all amazing,”Areti in the sea breeze bar was good at running it all on her own communication was excellent and the two girls doing the activity through the day and evening were brilliant ,all entertainment was good we have found a very friendly hotel with all staff willing to chat bar staff and management are absolutely brilliant It was a bit of a hike up the hill but there was always one of the men in the buggy’s ready to take us up and down the hill Hope to be back next year to see all you lovely people again 😃 Koullias Group Marketing, Marketing at Grand Blue Beach Hotel, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for your kind words regarding your recent stay at Grand Blue Beach Hotel.     Not a five star hotel. But a lovely clean hotel

    First sign on arrival where good but the opinion went down hill throughout the week and fully agree with the last two reviews !!Firstly the good points .Fabulous views and the hotel was immaculate in cleaning all over the hotel including our rooms . I would say a ten minute walk to Kardemena. Thank goodness for there to be honest. Three pools but we stayed mainly round the top pool . The sunbeds all look brand new as does the furniture in reception and the outdoor furniture in the rooms. More negatives sadly. The hills are worse than described and not enough golf buggy’s to offer a lift up and down! Not very good entertainment which is down at the bottom pool area at the sea breeze restaurant . As you have dinner at the top restaurant you get to a point you can’t face walking up the hills yet again!! The staff In the main restaurant are mostly not friendly except the outstanding Didkra ! (! love that lady and a massive credit to the hotel )one other evening waitress good too ! There was one waitress whose face said it all ! Not friendly never smiled not polite and makes it clear which nationality she prefers to wait on !! on the whole, there is not enough staff ! The guys cooking the food in two areas certainly do not enjoy their jobs or would want to smile at tourists for sure !! Tables were full on the last few nights with people left waiting for a table and then waiting an age to be cleared due to shortage of staff . which is shocking and a supposedly five star hotel which it is not, is not good enough to wait for a table like that .. food ok but the last few days so much worse and not 5 star!! Cheap cheap cereal with no real choice and shockingly awful powder orange juice like water in a morning !! Yak ! !! The barman after 4pm upstairs and at the quiet pool area are better and know their drinks as In cocktails as did one in the Seabreeze bar . !! But the others are out of their depth, don’t ask for a cocktail !!they haven’t a clue except a pina colada thing !! Basically they have just been thrown into a job they do not know or given any training for ! It states it’s all inclusive premium well where is the premium ?? Nope not even a good standard Ai !! The reception staff seemed polite and friendly so can’t say much there ! However there was a particular group of ladies who just kept singing loudly either by the pool or in reception ! It was not welcome and just screechy yet nothing said to ask them to be quiet ! If there was groups of others singing they would have been told to be quiet I am sure ! Fifty euros to keep our room to 6pm and 70 euros if 9pm ! That’s outrageous !! The beach … what beach ?? None whatsoever just a few feet !! it is all rocks ?? Shocking to advertise as a beach club !! No mini market and no Al la carte restaurant as advertised ?? Work going on near the quiet Pool at the bottom of the hill near the non beach !! We presumed was the mini market and restaurant again this was not told to us by the hotel or Jet 2 !! So can’t say if it was being done up to reopen or just something else ! The road to Kardemena is shocking and dangerous to walk on quite frankly!Much of It has been washed away by the rough sea and the worst winter in a long time (the lady at Pegasus travel told us with desperate repairs needed, ignored !!) it has been left in a really dangerous state of a possible fall or accident waiting to happen !! the traffic go close to the tourists walking by and when we waited for our trip bus to pick us up on the driveway a van actually swerved onto the drive to miss tourists very close to us standing away from the road !! Why is the Hotel and other Hotels, not doing anything with the local govt to sort this out ! All the money coming in ?? . It should and could be a lovely promenade ! The back of the hotel near the road is just a mess . No signage of a hotel just an empty board ! just a run down look and about the place and Quite embarrassing for a 5 star hotel !! More a three star at best !! Tha k goodness for the town and Nysyros trip ! I wouldn’t come back to the hotel or the area due to the road and no beach ! Very disappointed.     Disappointed and definitely not 5*

    I’m really disappointed with this hotel. It’s advertised as 5 star but definitely not. I agree with previous reviews. There is no spa or mini market but there’s a supermarket 5 mins walk. Nothing is advertised anywhere and the app doesn’t show what activities or evening entertainment is on. All the bars only have 1 bartender who work really hard but can’t cope with the demand. If you go to the front then turn left and head to the port and main strip then you get to the town centre in about 20 mins. Lovely walk along the coast. Again the “beach front” location is really poor. It’s a few rocks with sunbeds and no hotel facilities and shouldn’t be advertised as such. You have to cross a road then go back to the main hotel to get drinks. If you want a great Kos experience I recommend the Mitsis Ramira. I won’t be back as there are so many other hotel options out there.
