Lovely hotel in a great location

    rating30 May 2026

Had a week at Hermes and we cannot fault anything. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially Dimitris who ran the bar area. The rooms are basic but very clean the maid does an excellent job. The breakfast is continental and makes a good start to your day. Never had an issue getting 4 sun beds together as there didn’t seem to be any sunbed hoggers there during our stay. There was plenty of choice in the pool snack bar which was always run by the lady with a smile and a greeting. We asked about late check out availability and the manager/owner was more than happy to arrange this and at only €30 was a bargain. We went up to the village on one occasion, Dimitris arranged for the restaurant to pick us up and return us back after our meal. The rest of the holiday we went down the hill to the restaurants on the sea front. The food was excellent and reasonably cheap, the waiters are all friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel and advise you to ignore the bad reviews.

    Great hotel

    rating23 May 2026

We arrived at the Hermes hotel late at night and were greeted by lovely Diana who checked us in.Our room was in block 3, which is situated up the steep ramp at the highest level, which we didn't find was a problem, but it may be difficult for less mobile people.Be aware that balconies are not private as there is only a low wall dividing you from the guests in the next room and some balconies are separated by glass partitions. Also, there isn't a rack or line to hang your washing on.There's plenty of food to start your day at breakfast and a great coffee machine , we were very happy with it.The friendly housekeeper that looked after us kept our room clean. She provided clean towels and changed the beds regularly plus emptying the bathroom bin daily. The pool area is very large and the sunbeds are spread out so there's lots of room for eveyone to enjoy some space. Some sunbeds are in the shade under a few trees, so you don't have to be in full sun if that suits you better. You can buy snacks and drinks at the poolside bar.All the staff are really nice and very helpfulWe found the Hermes to be a very friendly hotel, it's got a relaxing feel to it.The views over Kamari bay and the surrounding countryside are absolutely amazing. We would definately return to this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it.

    Wouldn't go again

    rating03 Feb 2026

This was my first time at this hotel, but I had been warned over cruelty to the local cats there. The room was very basic and in need of modernisation. The breakfast was basic. The pool area was nice and never a shortage of sunbeds and plenty of space. The vicinity was good for the restaurants. However, the way some of the staff treat the cats and kittens was disgraceful. They were screamed and shouted at, sometimes been kicked away which was totally unprofessional and cruel. As an animal lover this was really upsetting to see and because of this I certainly wouldn't go back to this hotel.

    Bad experience

    rating13 Jan 2026

We stayed at this hotel for one week and had a very negative experience.Despite paying an extra €49 fee, the air conditioning in our room did not work. There was mould in the bathroom, a flooded ceiling in the hallway, and broken lampshades in the room. The breakfast was monotonous and of very poor quality. When we reported a broken shower head, the owner of the hotel reacted aggressively, shouting at us. His hostile and intimidating behavior caused me to break down in tears, and I was genuinely frightened. On another day, I witnessed a similar incident involving another female guest who was also crying due to the owner’s aggressive behavior.During breakfast one morning, I noticed the receptionist walking past me and whispering unintelligibly, which added to our discomfort. From that point on, the atmosphere became openly hostile. We felt like unwelcome intruders in a hotel where we had paid to stay. This behavior is completely unacceptable.Avoid this hotel.

    Great views of beautiful Kefalos

    rating24 Oct 2025

We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel , great views , very clean , comfortable bed , clean towels most days , free breakfast , what more could you want ! Rooms are attractive , looked freshly painted which considering it was end of season was surprising! functional with everything you need , would’ve liked an in room safe . No kettle , no pictures or soft furnishings , that didn’t bother us . The pool area was great large pool , plenty of space around the sunbeds , not many sunbed savers while we were there , good priced snack bar . 1 euro for a 1.5 ltr water !! Katriona very funny & friendly Dimitris at the bar is a great guy , lovely cocktails, entertaining & called local tavernas to pick us up , again good priced drinks .We were in block 3 , right at the top , if you want views you pay for them ! Free workout everyday , left with buns of steel , be aware if you are not able bodied & you will have to lug your cases up & back down on check in/ out Nowhere is perfect of course , the negatives were cats 🐈‍⬛ , whiff of sewage around the pool at times probably caused by entitled people putting paper in the toilet, even tho there are signs, there was always paper in the loo ! Water leaking from the pipe when flushed , no working extractor in the bathroom = wet floor & a smell in the drain , sorted by a drop of bleach but still , an easy fix surely , regarding the cats , fellow guests be aware , please don’t feed them in food areas , staff work hard to clear up leftovers before the cats , we saw the cats jump on tables , think this was because they were being fed from the table , they’re very naughty , also don’t feed them outside your room , the next guest may not like 10 cats camped outside waiting for dinner , also don’t leave food containers, it’s littering, the hard working staff shouldn’t have to clear it up , it would really be better to donate to the cat charities so they can be fed out of season
