    Do not stay here

    rating03 Feb 2026

Horrendous hotel. We do a lot of travelling and this is by far the worst. We can see why it has a sub standard rating! We have a 6 month old and a 2 year old and they wouldn’t even ring us a taxi. The reception are rude and just can’t be bothered to work it seems. Even after offering a tip.

Decent Hotel.Stay in a sea view room with balcony

    rating03 Dec 2025

I stayed here at Miramar Hotel in Room 406,which is fourth floor and a sea view with balcony,I stayed on my own so unfortunately I had to pay the full room rate but I had a very relaxed enjoyable stay,The staff Cant do enough for you,A big Thank you to Yoani(hope i got her name right!)She was a delight and she speaks good English which helps a lot.Cant understand the negative reviews about this Hotel,I had no problems with it.Yes it would benefit from air conditioning but there is a plug in Electric fan in each room,I had mine running every night while sleeping although this was November but it was still Very warm(28 in day and lowest temp of 18 in night,so I slept under the standard thinnest sheet, but there are extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. There is a fridge to plug in,which came in handy, the room was spotless and the maid came in every day to make the bed and clean and empty bin and exchange your towels provided you had left them on the floor. The shower in my bathroom was a walk in shower and powerful and nearly always hot. They could improve the basic shower head by fitting a Monsoon head!.The Balcony and sea view was a blessing! I often simply sat out on it relaxing in the Very Hot Sun watching the world go by on the promenade the only bug bear, was the noise of buses pulling up just near the Hotel. The tiny lift maximum 2 adults,is ok,the stairs are ok but the carpet is damaged in places and needs replacing. On the roof on floor six is the breakfast room and open sun terrace which is simple but delightful.Breakfast is buffet style and Very well laid out with quite a lot of choices, cereals, yoghurts,Greek yoghurt with honey, scrambled eggs and Spanish omelette, boiled eggs, cold ham and cheese, fresh crusty bread, and butter and soft cheese, fruit including wonderful stoneless dates,Danish pastries, and various drinks including a great coffee machine. The Hotel would benefit from doing a Evening meal buffet to become half board. There is a drinks and snack vending machine next to reception but I never used it.The Hotel is fairly central in Arrecife but it is a long walk to the bus station about a mile id say. There are two taxi positions outside next to the bus stop,im guessing you can hop on the bus here to get to the station but I didn't I just walked.I only got the bus twice in ten days, once to Teguise which is 4 miles away which cost €1.60 each way and one day,a Sunday,I went on bus to Playa blanca which has some great shops, that is about 22 miles away and cost €3.60 each way so buses are cheap.I didn't ask about return tickets, and best way to pay is use your credit card as you enter bus.Arrecife isnt really a tourist resort really, its a working town or city, but there's good walks on the flat, and a beach and a picturesque sea fed lake with bars and restaurants around it,and Arrecife felt very safe at all times.I don't think id stay in a standard room,it would have to be another sea view room with balcony. The Hotel is due to close by march 2026 for a refurb.

Not even worth half of the money

Apart from the location there is not much good to say about this hotel.- The rooms are warm without air conditioning- The walls are thin which makes it really noisy- The matrasses are hard as a rock- There are only 2 charging plugs available in the room and none of them are near the bed- The glass shower wall isn’t attached properly so the bathroom floods when taking a shower- The bath tub is touched up (by an amateur) with still rust near the drain (feels disgusting)- The hair dryers don’t work properly and the hotel has only one available for the whole hotel. - The breakfast is below average: no vegetables, meat isn’t covered up or cooled and reused several days in a row, scrambled eggs are barely lukewarm, pastries are all dried out, coffee is basically tea.
