Luxurious Resort which earns it’s titles

    rating17 Apr 2026

The Neptune Luxury Resort makes its name an expectation, the hotel staff makes sure to meet. Starting with luggage pickup on arrival and departure over friendly staff everywhere you go to going the extra mile for services I wouldn’t have expected to be offered proactively. The private beach has been kept very clean. The staff has been working tirelessly in the hot sun, trying to fight the algae which got swept up from the ocean. Aside from the buffet you can enjoy four different restaurants with different kinds of cuisine (Asian, Italian, Greek and American). You even benefit from a 50% discount in the evening for >90% of the menu in the restaurants when booking half board. The pools are being kept clean and there even is an adults only pool for maximum peace. The resort offers pretty much anything you can ask for. We didn’t have to leave the resort aside from exploring the island. The theatre also was fantastic and the artist crew very good at their craft. The only let down is the spa and sauna area, which did not meet my expectations and are way too expensive for the offering. Only good if you book a massage since you‘ll get access to the sauna on the same day as your massage. Though the rest of the trip certainly is making up for it. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will return for another trip. Elisavet Angeli, Other at Neptune Luxury Resort, responded to this review Dear X7505MAdiegol,Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your stay at Neptune Luxury Resort. We are very pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable and memorable experience with us and that you want to visit again. We are delighted to know that our team’s service and proactive attitude contributed to your positive impression. Additionally, we appreciate your compliments regarding the cleanliness of our beach and pools, as well as our dining options and entertainment, all of which made your stay truly enjoyable. We regret to learn that our Spa, including the Wet Spa area, did not meet your expectations. The Wet Spa includes a Salt Inhalation Steam Bath, Herbal Sauna, Ice Fountain, Rhassoul Chamber with Body Mask Experience, comfortable seating, and pre-heated waterbeds, all designed to provide a soothing final touch of relaxation. We believe the pricing reflects the value of the services and amenities offered at our Spa, but we understand that individual preferences may vary, and we appreciate your feedback. It is truly rewarding to know that your stay was enjoyable, and we are grateful for your recommendation of our resort. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit.Kind regards,Neptune Luxury Resort

Genuine 5 star experience in Greece, looking for this season already

    rating11 Jan 2026

We stayed at Neptune Luxury Resort at the end of August with my husband and daughter, for five days (realistically about 3 full days since we arrived late and left early). We booked cautiously, because in Greece “stars” can be misleading, but in our opinion, this was a real five-star experience, and worth the money. The resort is long and narrow but extremely well maintained. Huge credit to the gardeners, who managed to create something almost impossible, with lush gardens and thyme-covered walls buzzing with bees. You do walk a lot, which matters in high heat with small kids, but thanks to the resort being spread out, pools and beach beds never felt overcrowded and you could always find a place. The area is quite windy and the sea is often wavy. I personally loved this because I could enjoy waves while staying in standing-deep water, but it is something to know in advance. One of the beaches has white sand, perfect for children, and lots of shells to find. Together with the great kids’ water park, there is no chance of kids being bored. The baby and kids water area looks exactly like in the photos. There is also a shaded outdoor area and an indoor play space, which is great when kids get overheated.Breakfast was incredible and easily the biggest pleasant surprise. The choice is huge, and the dining area never feels crowded. Everything is spread out so lines are minimal. The quality is excellent: fresh bakery every day, desserts made fresh, eggs prepared how you want them, vegetarian and fish options, many kinds of yogurt, granola, fruit, pancakes, sweet and savory pastries. For the rest of the meals we went to the resort restaurants and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. We are quite demanding when it comes to food, and it was excellent. I especially loved the pumpkin ravioli in the Italian restaurant. The staff were wonderful. Everyone greeted us everywhere we went and any accommodation for our child was never a problem.Special mention goes to the big turtle mascot. Our daughter loved it and the endless high-fives, and we really appreciated this employee's patience. We loved our stay so much that we already booked our 2026 stay, this time for a full week and trying out the half board, as the food was so great. Eline Boersma, Owner at Neptune Luxury Resort, responded to this review Dear 657baraj,Thank you so much for your wonderful review and kind words. It is always a pleasure to hear that our guests had a great stay at our resort and appreciated everything we have to offer. We particularly appreciate your positive feedback on our well-maintained resort and its lush gardens. We practice certified Organic Regenerative Agriculture in our landscaping, and we are grateful that you noticed this. Our resort is located on the north side of the island, where the winds are often noticeable. During the summer months, this provides a refreshing breeze and creates waves in the sea. We're glad you enjoyed this aspect of your stay. It’s also great to hear that you made the most of our Neppi Land Kids Club, both inside and outside. Neppi, the turtle you mentioned, is our mascot and a playful symbol that helps children learn about pursuing a more sustainable future. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed the food offered at our Main Restaurant for breakfast, as well as the dinners at our à la carte restaurants. We strive to provide our guests with fresh options every day, and we truly appreciate your comments on this. We're proud that your first impression of our resort was so positive that you decided to book again for this year. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back soon. With kind regards, Neptune Luxury Resort

Flawed resort concept, problematic attitude of staff

    rating02 Jan 2026

Let's start with the positives: Well-kept grounds, modern rooms with spacious bathrooms, empty fridge to use in the room (but few alternatives to the expensive mini-mart outside the hotels within walking distance), mostly friendly service staff in the restaurants and by the pools, enough pools and loungers, decent quality and variety of food at the buffets, good selection of a la carte restaurants.A few smaller niggles:- There are no real double beds, only pushed-together single beds, with a sizable gap in the middle that cannot be closed up- During the first half of my stay, the wind was so strong, it was quite uncomfortable to use the Village Pool and the beaches, and even the pools that are further inland got a lot of wind. The resort cannot be blamed for the weather, but maybe more thought should have gone into choosing a plot of land for the resort; the Robinson Club on the south side of the island is much better protected from wind.- All pools were too cold to enjoy in mid September. Heating large outdoor pools is of course very expensive, but should be considered at a 5 star resort.- One machine in the gym was broken during my entire stay- While the walls and balcony door of the room offered good noise isolation, the front door did not. I was woken several times by housekeeping and other people outside my door.- A detail, but it shouldn't happen in a 5 star resort: the battery of the scales in my room were empty, so the scales were not usableDepending on your room, you will have little privacy on your terrace or balcony, and if you are really unlucky, your ground floor room will have a terrace that is actually below ground level, so your eyes will be level with the grass. A true 5 star experience...I am not a beach-goer, but I think people loving beaches will not have a great time here. You have the choice between a big stretch of beach where you have to climb over/through large boulders, placed there to slow beach erosion, to get into the water, and a small stretch without rocks where sun loungers are packed closely together to make the most of the available space.F&B pricing is a weird mixture of suspiciously cheap and way too expensive. It was disappointing that Coke Zero was offered nowhere in the resort, only Coke Light.A big issue is the layout of the resort. It is very 'deep', while not being very 'wide'. This makes sense from a real estate point-of-view, as beach-front land is much more expensive than areas further inland. For the guests, however, this comes at the cost of big distances to cover within the resort. From a first-row apartment to the tennis courts you walk over ten minutes. From the children's area to the beach, it's also ten minutes - of course on uncovered paths, in the heat of the day. This adds up, and becomes pretty annoying. (if you want a laugh, have a look at the neighboring hotel, Smy Kos, on Google Maps - it's even more grotesquely formed).A further downside of this inconvenient layout is that probably less than 10% of the rooms have sea view. Not acceptable for a five star resort, where sea view from most if not all rooms is a central part of the experience. I did not book this vacation, but would personally not book this resort for that reason alone. But now for the main issue: the attitude of the 'white collar' staff. From our first correspondence with NLR months before our stay, through all the way to check-out, the attitude and communication style of the reservations department, guest services and reception were characterized by an arrogant, flippant, even derogatory tone. You don't have to believe me, just read NLR's replies to critical reviews, or even single critical points within reviews, here on TripAdvisor, on HolidayCheck and Google; guests are being schooled like little children: "you didn't read room descriptions properly", "we repeatedly informed you that", you misbehaved in this or that way, etc. Confrontational language like "clearly" and "even if" is used frequently in writing to highlight how they are right and the guest is wrong. This would be inappropriate for a two-star bed&breakfast, but it is absolutely unacceptable and highly unprofessional for a five-star resort. Communicating in a courteous, de-escalating manner with guests instead of 'firing back' to show how you are right (and the guest would know it if only they would read properly...) is Hospitality 101, even if it is incompatible with the general attitude of Greeks, which is not a friendly, service-oriented one, as I unfortunately had to learn over the last 30 years.Hiring and training standards must be quite low at Neptune Luxury Resort. Maybe Mr. Zarikos should rather invest in that, and not a ridiculous APT video where everyone involved looks like they'll be fired if they don't smile...Overall, it will not surprise you that we cannot recommend NLR. Eline Boersma, Owner at Neptune Luxury Resort, responded to this review Dear iPutMyTowelOutEarly,We are usually very glad to receive feedback from our guests, whether positive or negative, since most of their comments are well-intentioned. Even when highlighting issues our guests consider negative, they often provide helpful criticism.Regrettably, in your case, we fail to see the latter, as you choose to share a review on matters beyond our control, others that were easily fixable, and some things that are not even true.Let’s start with some minor details: most of our room types feature two twin beds, which is clearly indicated in the descriptions available. Since we understand some guests may prefer a double setup, we offer the option to add a topper upon request to create a very comfortable double arrangement, something which you never requested. We apologize that our Housekeeping team did not notice that the batteries in the scales in your room were no longer working. Once you were aware of this oversight, a simple comment to the Reception would have been enough to prompt them to replace the batteries immediately. Our beach is indeed prone to erosion, so to protect it, we have decided to place large rocks in the sea to prevent the sand from washing away. At the same time, we have created pathways that make it easy to access the water. Therefore, stating that you need to climb over the rocks to get to the sea is incorrect, and it’s prohibited for safety reasons anyway. We are unsure how to respond to comments suggesting that we should have selected a better plot of land for our hotel, that a 5 star hotel should have more rooms with sea views, and that the resort's layout is unusual. However, let us inform you that our hotel has built a strong reputation over the years, and we have not experienced any operational issues related to the concerns you raised.Regarding your comments on our APT video, which is meant to be a cheerful promotional clip, but you describe as ridiculous, even falsely claiming that the staff involved were afraid of being fired if they didn’t smile. We want to clarify that this video was created solely by staff members who were willing and eager to participate, some even for a second time, as we did another similar video in 2021. The staff enjoyed themselves so much that they are already asking about what we will do for the next one.Overall, it is disappointing that the genuine Greek hospitality that millions of people enjoy and appreciate when visiting Greece every year is not perceived as such by you.We can only hope you will find what you are looking for elsewhere.Wishing you all the best.Neptune Luxury Resort

This week we returned from the Neptune Luxury Resort hotel, which we have been going to since 2016, in recent years always in June and September. If we count correctly, this year's stay was perhaps the thirteenth. For my husband and I, staying here is the best relaxation.
