    Shame about the last day

    rating07 Nov 2025

Last day disgusted at the behaviour, we arrived and have to say had a fabulous holiday on our final day I was quite shocked to listen to some peoples behaviour around the pool men late 40s 50s and their sense of entitlement, I saw a tattooed guy bully 2 younger foreigners off sunbeds he had reserved for his daughters at 0700 in the morning who were still not at the pool by 1230, then listened to another 2 guys talking about how he they felt that if you get up and reserve a bed you should be able to take it when you want how he deliberately soaked a women with a cast on her leg as she tried reserve a bed in another country - how pathetic! Francis you need to get on top of these entitled guys!! It seemed that they were part of a returning group who had been here several times - not nice

    Isolated, awkward and boring hotel/location

    rating14 Jul 2025

I am in disbelief of the positive reviews listed for this hotel! I visited in August 2024 with my teenage son, and from the moment of arrival we both experienced the feeling of dread! The staff at Sunny Hotel were weird, rude and intimidating: glaring at us, badgering us to attend the Greek night, to eat at the hotel ect. They appeared to dispise us leaving the hotel, and returning on an evening felt like the walk of shame as we made our way past the dense atmosphere of judgement and disapproval. My Son felt to awkward to even stay by the pool (watching eyes at all times!) So we walked to a nearby pool bar each day (when I say nearby, for reference this was a good 40/50 minute walk), or took the bus into town. This journey each day became exhausting and costly. The Hotel is ridiculously secluded! Not even a shop within walking distance. The breakfast is revolting and the other food is not much better. Kardenema is a beautiful place to visit, but for us, the stress of staying at this hotel hindered our experience. The rooms were okay, very dusty, and the electrics in our room appeared dodgy, with exposed wired ect. There was a light which wouldn't switch of, so we removed the light bulb.As stated previously, the hotel is isolated, it is also situated along a very busy main road, with the sound of loud traffic throughout the day and night. We had a late flight home, and stayed at the hotel pool on our final day. The pool was lovely, and clean, and the shower facilities provided, were to a good standard.

Loved the place a bit of a walk to get to town but that’s why I got car only thing is a bit pricey for stuff other than that spot on clean and breakfast could be much better as it’s poor u have to pay for proper one or it’s just rubbish if this had proper breakfast without charge it would of got a 5* and I had that included when I booked holiday but they charged for it

Lovely hotel but a little remote

    rating09 Oct 2024

The hotel itself was very clean and modern. The rooms were cleaned and fresh towels most days. The shower cubicles were very tight for the average person. The only drawback we found was the distance from amenities. You can walk it into town but it takes about 40 minutes along a busy road. There were buses costing 2 euros and taxis which cost 7 euros each way. Making it a little expensive if going to the beach or town. Overall a good holiday.

Good budget hotel if u don’t mind a walk

    rating29 Sept 2024

Had a ground floor room in the old part of the building. Quite dated looking. There is a fridge in the room that was too noisy to keep plugged in during the night. There also a kettle and mugs in the room. We had a ground floor overlooking the fields. If your a light sleeper pack ear plugs as the walls are very thin, often woken by people coming back in the early hours followed by the cockril again at 5am. Staff were all pleasant although we did get asked more than once why we weren’t attending the bbq. This was a bit of a gripe, some people like spending time at the hotel, or others like myself want to get out and see the place. We did catch the end of the Greek dancing, it’s ok but I wouldn’t choose to go personally. The pool was large with plenty of sun loungers and sun umbrellas. Breakfast was ample. There’s orange, apple or pineapple juice. Coffee, hot chocolate or tea. Bread and french stick you can toast, cheese, ham, Madeira cake along with 2 different cereals. You can pay for extra if needed but we never did as what they put out was enough. There’s a bus stop right outside the entrance to the hotel that runs to and from Kardamena town. last bus back is 10.50pm. after this taxis are about 1 every 5-10 mins which can be a lengthy wait if there’s a large queue. We walked it one evening along the sea front but it’s not well lit and quite eerie, takes around 30 mins. Walking to the beach takes around 10-15 mins. Take a right outside the hotel, follow the road down until you get to the junction going left (just passed deserted Carpark with the boats and van) follow this road down past the stables and the little church until you get to the beachfront. You will find Atlantis bar to your right, or if you keep walking another 5 mins you’ll come across Malibu beach bar. The beds around the pool here are free and you get waiter service all day. Highly recommend! If u fancy walking into Kardamena town keep following this road another 10 mins. I’d recommend hiring bikes from the MOTO place just left of Atlantis bar. Really reasonable and great way of stopping off at different beaches. Zia was a good evening, we had a meal at sunset tavern. Booked in advance, had a great spot and food was good. Lido waterpark was good fun, not loads of slides but enough. Also had a great wave machine and various pools and lazy river. Food was reasonable and was fast service. Finally, Zeus superior cruise is a brilliant boat trip for just 12 passengers. It is more pricey but it’s worth it, each get your own lounger and have a meal on board. I would probably not return to this hotel because of the noise and the distance. If there were more taxis available it wouldn’t be an issue but it’s not fun clock watching for the last bus whilst on your holiday.
