Avoid unless you want to eat slops

    rating30 May 2026

Lovely room and staff apart from restaurant manager who had his favoutites and refused us the al a carte experience as ovwr booked but it was not. Beach bar closed as electric problems. Very clean though. Entertainment very good. Food however was terrible. Cold and uninspiring unless you like pasta and re served leftovers. No greek food in sight. Same bland boring food every day. Minimal staff on duty. Spent a fortune eating elsewhere. Never going back

Wonderful staff beautiful views and lovely pool

    rating24 May 2026

We had a very enjoyable stay at Zeus/Ammos Hotel and what made the holiday special was the fantastic staff. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by Elena she explained everything and was just lovely also Marina at reception was happy to help and ensure we had all we needed. The bar staff, Abdalla and Manwile, were wonderful and kept me well supplied with lattes throughout the stay. Daniel was also very friendly and helpful. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming and approachable. The rooms were kept very clean with fresh water replenished daily, along with towels for both the pool/beach and showering. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was nice too. Having the use of an iron and ironing board in the room was also a fantastic extra touch.Although the entertainment was fairly small-scale during our stay in May (just before the half-term season), it was still great fun and we were always kept entertained. Michael and the young lady working alongside him (sorry I forgot your name!) were full of energy and always managed to put a smile on everyone’s face. The staff in the dining room where happy and efficient greeting you good morning ect with a genuine smile. The lifeguard was also very friendly and helpful too.We also rented a car through the hotel and the lady who helped us was lovely, taking the time to recommend places for us to visit around the island. The views from the hotel are amazing the sunset is just beautiful. We very much appreciated on our last day being able to use the spa showers with fresh towels before leaving for a later flight a helpful bonus and a really thoughtful touch. If I had to mention any negatives, I would say the food choices could be a little more varied and clearer labelling for vegetarian options would help. The snack bar was also quite limited during our stay with only sandwiches and cake which did look quite dry. However, the ice cream was lovely! The air conditioning was not working also so got a little hot in the night.Overall, myself and my sister had a wonderful holiday and would definitely recommend the hotel for its friendly atmosphere amazing staff and views. We would have rated it excellent if it weren’t for the food.

    Nice but not 5*

    rating24 May 2026

The hotel is lovely. It is spotlessly clean and all the staff are lovely. From housekeeping to reception, bar staff to restaurant staff everyone smiles and says hello. The animation team are great, they never stop dancing, singing and playing games with the children. Opa Opa will be a long time earworm! Special mention to Marina on reception - she constantly smiles and is so helpful. She got us a change of room with no fuss and other issues were resolved by her quickly and efficiently. She is a credit to the hotel. The rooms are nice with fabulous rain fall showers. I liked the sliding mozzy screens on the balcony doors which meant we could leave the doors open to get air.On the downside - there is no air con in the hotel which made the rooms very hot and sweaty at night, even with the door open. Apparently the air con is broken and they are waiting for an engineer from Athens. The bedroom has no mirror, only the one in the bathroom which is not convenient. The pool bar is nice but could be so much better if it was a snack bar also. Bringing down one tray of sandwiches from the kitchen late morning is not good enough. The day time barman is great and really knows his stuff. I think the evening barman started while we were there. The poor guy had no idea how to make cocktails or what went in them. Not a good situation when there is a long list of cocktails included in the all-inclusive. He should have been supported until he learnt.Neither of us are fussy eaters but the food was disappointing. Very little choice, with the same things coming out day after day. The food on the buffet was not topped up regularly enough, dishes were left with just one or two items and then taken away so we had to wait ages for the recharged dish to reappear. We also noticed items from earlier meals coming out again later in the day looking over done and dried up.There was virtually no variety with the breakfast offerings and desserts were very poor, even the fresh fruit on offer was boring. We had a lovely holiday in a very nice hotel with amazing staff. With just a few tweaks this hotel could genuinely call itself luxury.

Def not 5 star but worth a stay

    rating15 May 2026

Had a very relaxing 7 days here but this definitely not a 5 star experience.Cons first and some of these may seem picky but we are basing this on our other 5 stars experiences:Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner pleasant but not outstanding. Pool bar offerings: filled rolls or sandwiches not refrigerated so went hard and curled up with the heat. Cakes and biscuits also. No fresh fruit, no hot snacks at all. Basically you would have to go to the restaurant. No snack crisps or nuts offered when ordering drinks.Only pool bar or lobby bar open during the day or night. If entertainment was outside the lobby bar was opened and vice versa. If you wanted to sit inside you would need to run round the side of the hotel to get a drink from the pool bar and back again. If the restaurant was open the staff in there could get you a drink but it’s not very convenient at all.The room safe was locked and it took 3 days to get someone to come up to the room to unlock it.The à la carte dinner was served in the main restaurant and not at the sea front restaurant as advertised.Disappointed that there is no facility to sit outside and eat from the buffet restaurant. No mirror in the bedroom. Never been to a hotel where I’ve had to try to drag my hair straighteners to the bathroom door to try to see in the mirror or use the reflection on the TV! Just bizarre.Pros:The hotel is immaculate. All the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Everyone one of them spoke to you.The views are stunning. The à la carte food, despite not being served in the à la carte restaurant, was fantastic. The room, with the sea view, was great. Spacious, the bed was really comfy, bathroom was stocked well and the shower was great. Clean and comfortable.Room was made up every day and fridge restocked with water. Comfy sun loungers. The hotel is a good 40 minute walk to the village but it’s lovely and well worth the stroll.Other things to do:The Lovly Bar, just up the road, is def worth a visit. Very quirky and again we were made to feel welcome. You can cut a good 10 mins of your journey ( and keep of the dangerous road) by cutting through the Kouros Palace Hotel on to the beach and walk along from there. We thoroughly recommend the day trip to Bodrum. We booked through Kos4all.com. Given that the bus from Mastihari to Kos is €16 for the two of us return, we paid €70 in total. This included pick up from the hotel to the harbour in Kos, return ferry to Bodrum and transfer back to hotel. Great value for money and the service was top notch.Kalymnos is also well worth a visit. The ferry leaves from Mastihari roughly every couple of hours. You can book online or buy at the kiosk down the harbour. If we were doing this again we’d recommend buying on line at least the day before you go. The ferry can be busy and the return ferry kiosk can be closed. You can’t pay at the ferry so you need to get the tickets before that.Kos Town: another lovely day spent just milling about. The church in the square is stunning. The waterfront restaurants can be expensive as expected but go back a couple of streets and you can get the same lunch for a fraction of the price. As much as there were a few things we didn’t like, we did enjoy ourselves. If you are looking to chill out, relax and enjoy the sun, we would definitely recommend a stay here. Enjoyed our break a few things to iron out

    rating14 May 2026

ProsAmazing staff. Shout out to Michael entertainment, Mario restaurant and the lovely bar lady. All staff work tirelessly for your comfort.Rooms great size comfortable very clean.Cleanliness was excellent. So much cleaning and polishing including windows and balcony glass .Pool and beach we enjoyed and there is a full time life guard at pool.ConsSadly the food. Chicken and pork every meal. Too many carbs. Lots of salad I like. Took far too long to refill. Same deserts every meal.Thank you to the lady who made me a fresh omeletteA la Carte restaurant not available or both bars. Reception was too small for the entertainment team. Singing was so loud in there Confusion between reception day and night shifts. An example booking the spa with evening shift for 5pm. Upon checking out with day shift being told no it wasn't booked so given 5.30 pm . Went back at 5.21 , night shift again, to be told no it's in my book it was 5pm. The very pleasant receptionist sorted it but communication is key.We had a lovely holiday thank you Zeus.
