  Disappointing hotel

  We stayed at the Odyssey Hotel in Alicante and, unfortunately, we would not stay here again. While the rooms are reasonably pleasant, there is a big difference between the facilities advertised and what is actually available to guests.We booked a double room but were given two single beds which, we were told, could not be made into a double. The beds constantly moved apart during the night, making it very uncomfortable for a couple.The air conditioning is also a problem. Although there is air conditioning and a fan, they are controlled by a timer that guests cannot adjust. They switch off during the night, leaving the room extremely hot. We reported this, but nothing was done.The pool is really a small plunge pool and, during our stay, has appeared poorly maintained, with sand, grit and debris in the water. There are loungers and umbrellas, but the umbrellas are not put up, even when temperatures reach 36–38°C, meaning there is effectively no shade.There is a bar beside the pool, but it is not operated during the daytime. You can sit beside it all day, but you cannot actually get a drink. Evenings have very limited and inconsistent opening hours. For a hotel advertising a pool and bar, this is extremely disappointing.Parking is available, but it is exceptionally tight. The entrance, ramps and parking spaces are difficult to navigate, with very little room to manoeuvre. You need to be extremely careful to avoid scraping or damaging your car.Breakfast is fine and most staff are friendly, although we did encounter one particularly unhelpful member of the evening bar staff.Overall, the issue is that the hotel advertises facilities that are either restricted, unavailable or poorly maintained. It feels more like a glorified motel than a proper hotel. We would not return.

  As for the location of the hotel, it couldn't be in a better place in Agios Nikitas...and that's the only positive experience...As a family with 3 children, we always look for a unit where we can all fit...here we got 2 extra beds that I had to fix myself to make them functional. You can feel the humidity in the room, there are no mosquito nets... Parking for about 10 cars along a steep and narrow passage... you have to leave your phone number and they keep calling you to move so that someone can come out... Literally 3 women do all the work in the hotel... and clean, and prepare breakfast... Apart from changing the towels and throwing out the trash, the bed linen was not changed or the floor in the room was cleaned for 10 days. At check-out from the hotel, the unkind elderly lady, apart from taking the keys, didn't even deign to wish her a happy trip...Bad experience

  Over priced with photos that do not match reality

  Booked a studio with a sea view. On arrival in pouring torrential rain the room was leaking. The room was dingy with a very out of date bathroom. We were moved to the maisonette next door which was nicer. The pool bar was not open the whole week. The hotel.was.tired and in need of renovation with birds flying everywhere inside leaving excrement everywhere. Stairs from the pool area to the lobby were dangerously uneven and narrow. I was charged for breakfast even though it was supposed to be included in the extortionate price of 185 euros a night out of season. No refund given. I do NOT recommend this hotel.

  Honeymoon stay

  We stayed for our honeymoon at the start of October. First of all lovely hotel with amazing views of area. Very well located. Very clean and up to date. We didn’t get a lot of info on arrival regarding hotel, times of things. We came into our room with a setup of complimentary wine and treats which was very thoughtful. It was a great modern room with a smart TV which we appreciated, it meant we could watch some English TV. Very comfortable beds. Daily cleaning. We stayed in a Garden room which was nice and quiet and tucked away but there was only one window and the area was covered by greenery so there was not much natural light let in, which meant you felt a bit cut off from the world once you were in the room. Had chairs and table outside but not much sun reaches sadly. Regarding kitchenette, the cooker is just a plug in oven top, not actually an oven. We had an issue with ours which meant we had to pay to eat out when we planned to cook in, we ended up with a new one the next day after a bit of fuss. We had all the utensils and crockery we needed in cupboards. The pool bar was a let down as we only saw it open twice and only for a few hours. As it was our honeymoon this was disappointing. We had to ask a receptionist and then they opened it on one of the days, this contradicts their website a lot which says open most of the day with two staff. Breakfast was great - everything you need!Ham, cheeses, omelette type thing, eggs, olives, cereal, fruit, cakes and lovely pastries - especially vanilla ones! Tea, coffee and juices. Greek yogurt with honey and fruit (but they don’t refill it if it runs out).We saw some guests be made custom breakfast on our last day which would have been nice to know throughout our stay. Gorgeous view from where you eat on the terrace, especially if it’s a sunny day.Staff were friendly, let us stow away our luggage on arrival and departure. Roula was very helpful!

  Brilliant Hotel and location at very a reasonable price!

  Amazing hotel with the friendliest of staff! The room was clean, the beds super-comfy with everything we needed to feel safe and comfortable. The pool area was lovely, properly cared for - with excellent views. The breakfast was fresh, varied and plentiful - with very helpful and efficient kitchen staff. The hotel location is perfect - with a local beach just 5 mins walk down a lovely street full of shops and restaurants. A bigger beach (Milos Beach) was just 20/30 minute walk through woodland (wear trainers as the steps are a little challenging and the path can get a little rocky). The local restaurants served a good variety of food at reasonable cost and the locals were really welcoming. The bus stop at the top of the street facilitated a 20 min bus ride for 2€ each to Lefkada town, and another 2€ for the 25 min ride to Nydri. But best of all were the staff/owners of Odyssey Hotel. Sophia and Rula are such kind, genuine ladies who went above and beyond for us during our stay. This hotel deserves to be 4-star. We would definitely return - especially to see Rulas cute little dog Harry!! SALLY & LISA (stayed July 2025).
