  Thalero was such a wonderful peaceful retreat.So the studio ( soon to be modernised) was older … the furniture was well loved . However, the cleanliness was the best I have ever encountered whilst travelling abroad . Better than all 5* properties!!! It had everything in the studio you could want. Great Aircon Great WiFi access .Very hot showers.Clean bedding Spotlessly large swimming pool.Lovely snack bar and drinks available.The manager Maria was very kind to me . She made sure you had everything you needed.The property is in a fantastic location… so close to a supermarket and wonderful Taverners and coffee shops and lovely Bakeries.You can also walk to the local beaches. It is on the flat .. so no steep hills !!! Thank you for 2 weeks of heaven and unwinding. I’ll definitely be back.

  We had the best stay. Comfortable spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff, beautiful swimming pool and setting. Reasonably priced tasty bar snacks. Wide variety of drinks. Ice cream that is out of this world.We come back every year. Can’t fault it.

  Good stay, but it will be all change next year

  We stayed for 11 nights in July, in two rooms. We were in the self catering section so this review will not be relevant for anyone looking into going next year. They are gradually changing the resort to be all new and modern accommodations without kitchen facilities . One block has been completed already.We had a very pleasant stay here. Basic Greek apartment accommodation, but kept clean. The pool was lovely, and it is fairly central in the small village of Lygia. We had drinks from the pool bar a few times, they seemed a little more expensive than other places we have been in Greece. They did have air conditioning in the rooms if you wanted to pay extra for it, and free WiFi available throughout the property.

  My wife and I have been visiting Greece for the last 20+ years, visiting various islands. I would like to start by stating that Lefkada is a very beautiful island, and we enjoyed every minute of our visit. Regarding Thalero holiday centre, On arrival we found the proprietors of the centre very unfriendly or inviting. We were also very shocked at the state of the premises, the place is very tired and out of date, (pre-war) in need of some love and care in the form of paint! The room we were allocated did not resemble in any shape or form the pictures that were advertised on the site. For instance, to shower you had to hand-hold the shower head as it was not attached to the wall, and the shower curtain had seen better days; I have taken pictures to prove just how bad this room was. The kitchen sink plug did not stay fixed, and as quick has you were filling the sink, it was emptying! The room had no hairdryer, this is the 20th century, not the 18th century! The air conditioning was so outdated, I could blow stronger and faster cool air out than that draconian machine could!). I have spent less money on past holidays and had greater value for my money and fantastic rooms at that!!!All in all, what should have been a wonderful, long anticipated over-due holiday, turned out to be a big disappointment; we felt that we had been ‘lured’ by false advertisement, and it is no wonder we could not find this centre / self-catering apartment on YouTube. I cannot understand why this centre is still in business. JET2 need to send a representative to view these room to understand how ‘dire’ they are. It is the first time we have used JET2 and I am now loathed to use the company again Mar Sclair, Owner at Ligato Suites, responded to this review Dear customer, thank you very much for staying at Thalero and we are sorry for such a bad experience. Your opinion is always respected but we have a different opinion on some issues. For example, where does our hostile behavior derives from? When you arrived we welcomed you, helped you to rent a motorbike, gave you tourist information to have the best experience on the island. Where does the hostile behavior comes from? The small problems you had in the room could easily be solved if you were asking us. Hair dryer are on request at the reception, new sink plug we would give you right away. Evidedly in the country you come from you never need to use air condition that’s why you probably had no idea how to operate it. By the way this one in the room is brand new (you have seen it). Why didn't you come to ask us? On the third day of your stay we found the mosquito net broken. We had to return it to the company for repair. You never asked what happened and at least apologize for breaking it… far from the intention to pay for it…!The question that arises from this whole narrative is why you sat for so many days and did not complain about anything neither to the hotel nor to the company that brought you.

  Fantastic holiday

  First of all, ignore previous photos and negative reviews, probably from people who are not happy with their lives. We just got back from Thalero. We were pleasantly surprised after reading previous negative comments. I was fully aware that I'm booking 2* hotel and didn't expect much. Rooms are huge. Balcony is smaller but great for a breakfast and evening relaxing drink. I personally think the hotel is 2* because of tiny bathrooms which we didn't mind at all. Asimina and Maria work very hard all season, and if you have never worked in tourism, please do not write negative reviews. Also I like to give swimming pool 4* it's huge and we had the most relaxing week of swimming! Plenty of sun beds and pool is never too busy. The hotel is short walk from the main road 1min. We did not hear any noise at all, day & night!! Near by supermarket is a bit expensive but bakery is amazing and only 3mins walk. I would highly recommend Thalero. Maria & Asimina (plus cleaning ladies & gardener) Thank you so much for a lovely week. Ευχαριστώ πολύ.
