This landmark hotel is just steps away from the iconic Myconian windmills in Chora and surrounded by 11000 sq.m of gardens. The revitalised Mykonos Theoxenia provides a green oasis on the cosmopolitan island, bringing back the carefree yet stylish Greek summer. The historical building, protected by the Greek Ministry of Culture, is made of Delian stone, and has been aesthetically renovated with luminous interiors, strong linear rhythms and lush exterior spaces. Resonating with its natural landscape and striking views of the sea, positioned opposite Delos Island, it features 49 exquisitely elegant rooms and suites with bespoke furniture and 4 signature suites with private pools and verandas.

Facility

The hotel was modernised in 2022. The hotel has a lift and features 49 non-smoking rooms. The multilingual staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services include a babysitting service (for a fee), a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, 24-hour room service (for a fee), a laundry service and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service (for a fee) to explore the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. Rooms have a double bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A trouser press is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a stereo system, a DVD player, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use.

Sport

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. There is a poolside snack bar as well. With windsurfing, canoeing, sailing, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and yoga. The wellness area's offerings provide pure relaxation and include a spa and a sauna. For a fee, massage treatments is also available.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. Lunch is served as à la carte, and guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu for dinner. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    First of all, I have to say that the location of this hotel deserves a 5/5 as it is walking distance to all the restaurants and stores in Little Venice. However, considering it costs a minimum of $1,120 euros/night (for a basic room with a garden view), and it is supposed to be a 5-star property, it was disappointing. There's a huge pile of garbage bags and dead plant matter sitting in the garden (near the entrance) and it didn't move the entire week. There's also pieces of trash and cigarette buts strewn about in the gardens which really takes away from the look of the property. Five star hotels don't have trash and cigarette buts all over the grounds.The patio furniture (on our terrace) was old and the cushions were dirty. The cushions around the pool also need a good cleaning. The plants in the gardens have not been cared for and most of them look to be near death. All of the staff were very friendly, especially those who work in the restaurant - so no issues there. It just seems like one of those properties where they employ as few staff as possible and management is missing in action. All in all, the Theoxenia property needs a refresh, has limited amenities (only one pool and not much of a gym), and needs to step it up in terms of service if they want to be considered a true 5-star hotel. There are other 'Design Hotels' on the island that are truly worth the price they charge.     Perfect Mykonos Stay – Beautiful, Relaxed, and So Convenient

    Our stay in Mykonos was absolutely perfect. The location couldn’t be better — super walkable to everything, right in the middle of the action but still feels quaint and peaceful once you’re there. The property has a gorgeous pool, stunning views, and a relaxed vibe that makes it hard to leave.The car service from the airport and to the cruise port was really handy. The room was spotless, the shower had fantastic water pressure, and breakfast was outstanding — especially the fresh orange juice (truly the best I’ve ever had!).An all-around amazing stay with wonderful people and beautiful surroundings.     Let me start out and say that I might stay at the Theoxenia again. It's location is perfect to get in and about Mykonos (and Mykonos Town!) You cannot beat this location as it's a short walk everywhere and easy to get a cab in/out for trips.. The hotel is very clean and the service is excellent. We had a waterfront room and the balcony alcove had great views. Nice pool area. So why only 3 stars? 1. This is NOT a 5 star hotel. It is a rehab'ed 60s hotel. The showers are quite literally closets with painted walls. There is a sink in front of the bed. And the only place to watch your television is laying in bed. There is an outdoor pool bar, but it closes in the early evening. While you can get a cocktail in the evening, there is no "bar." 2. There is no fitness center to speak of. The hotel literally described it as a "fully equipped gym with magnificent sea views." It is a small room with an unplugged treadmill, a stationary bike, and tension/pulley device that says "do not use." 5 star hotels have real fitness centers! I might return, but now I understand the real deal.
