    Amazing Views

    rating13 May 2022

Recently had a stay in the PHO suite with the jacuzzi. We had an amazing view. The room was clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi was warm and well maintained. We were greeted by friendly staff, especially Jordan, who was excited to show us all the fun things to do. They also had drinks ready upon our arrival. The only caveat is this hotel isn’t in the center of the city, and you’ll need to walk unpaved roads to get to and restaurants, shops, etc. The walk isn’t too bad, but it’s definitely not the most convenient when you just want a quick bite to eat. Breakfast was good and presented well. Overall very happy with our stay.

    Great for us

    rating03 Apr 2020

13 of us stayed here in 6 rooms and what we loved was every room was different. The hotel is located on a hill in the middle of nowhere so you will need a car or use cabs unless you don't mind a long walk to town. We did this once but I wouldn't recommend it as not very safe because there's no pathway most of the way so you have to dodge the cars. The entrance is along a lane and when within the gate a cactus lined entrance leads to an T-shaped hallway to the reception. The reception is big as leads to a bar area, 4 lounge areas, the spa where we received a 15min complimentary massage and it had part of the breakfast area with big windows showing the sea. The reception had a homely feel as there were also tables & chairs with lots of coves that had artistic ornaments within or around and 3D pictures on the walls. We were given a welcome cocktail on arrival by Harri the bar man and check in was quick and easy. The receptionist was also friendly and helpful. Our room had a small single use Jacuzzi at the end of the double bed. The double bed had a bedside table either side with single drawers and lights hanging down from the ceiling above each. There was a single bed settee that was surprisingly comfortable making up the triple room we booked. A small table with 2 chairs stood in front of a large mirrored wall. Behind the double bed was a small dressing table in front of a large mirror with a stool and a tray with bottled water. There was a shower next to a separate toilet although only clear glass separated the 2 losing all privacy. In front of this was 2 separate sinks, plenty of toiletries including bath salts, dressing gowns and a hair dryer.Next to the bathroom area was a cove with a shelf that had a small fridge underneath and cupboards. On top was candles and ornaments. Next to that was a double wardrobe with a set of drawers inside, a safe and a few hangers.Double doors led to an outside veranda with a table and chairs.Another room within our group was situated within a terrace looking section all with their own pool and 4-poster outside sun bed. Their room had a less cluttered layout with just a double bed, the small dressing table, 2 small circular bedside tables and 1 other table but their striking feature was a massive circular jacuzzi for at least 4 people within a massive bathroom that had a corner sink unit with a corner mirror and again with a separate toilet next to a shower cubicle with a fancy modern flat shower head that had 2 projectory outlets. One of my other friend's room along that terrace with their own pool and 4 poster outside bed differed because they had no jacuzzi inside but had a shower that had water massaging ability by its different spray levels and types.Another room had a skylight roof that could be opened to let the sun in but on a windy night this became very noisy apparently. My daughter's room which was next to the bar by the swimming pool looked like a terrace house with a table & chairs plus a hanging chair on a stand outside their door. Inside, the room was massive. On entry was a large settee on the left with a massive Jacuzzi opposite it. 6 of us got in it at one stage. The bed was a massive queen size bed raised on a circular stand that lit up with an ottoman at the end. Opposite was a large dressing table in front of a huge mirror. There was also a much larger sliding door wardrobe and a breakfast bar. The bathroom was bigger than ours but everything was incorporated within a closing door including toilet, shower and the 2 sinks. I think this was the best room and in the best location right next to the pool. The pool area was large with lots of beanbag loungers, tables & chairs, drink trollies but not enough parasols. The panoramic view is breath-taking.The breakfast was a little weird because it lacked variety and the small amount of choice incorporated both English & Greek food. I think when you are given limited choice it should be one or the other as the 2 gave a weird combination. Cereal and fruit were available but the open area with the scenic views helped ease the lack of choice.Overall a well laid out hotel with stunning views and exciting rooms although what lets it down making it not to be a 5 * is the breakfast and the poor, old linen in use with tatty towels. Some of the soft furnishings are stained and old so could do with replacing but to be honest we didn't pay a 5* price so thought we got what we paid for and was happy.

The farthest thing from 'luxury'. Avoid this hotel.

So I have waited a few weeks since staying at this hotel, just to try to have a more objective view and leave a proper review. Firstly, some context - for my job I used to travel regularly and stayed in hotels for about 100 nights a year across quite a few countries, so I have seen good and bad across the years. This hotel is without doubt one of the worst that I have stayed in and was an incredible disappointment. My partner and I stayed for 8 nights. When we arrived we were offered a welcome drink - so far so good, however after this we were taken to a different room from the one that we booked (We booked a Tower Suite). The room offered was tired, dark, dirty and very dated. We were then shown 3 more Tower Suites all of which were very tired, dark and needed renovation. We chose the one that was closest to the one we had booked from the website. The receptionist told us that the room would not look the same as the 'photos were taken 10 years ago'. Breakfast the next morning was the equivalent of a 2 star and one of the worst that I have ever encountered. Room cleaning was poor with toilet rolls disappearing (presumably to be put in another room) and meaning that I had to go to reception to ask for them. On one day the room was still being cleaned at 6.30pm even though there were hardly any guests. On another day our main door handle broke off in my hand. On the last morning there was no electricity or water for several hours so no shower, breakfast etc. We discovered from a local cafe owner that this was due to planned electrical maintenance in the area, but no-one at the hotel warned us. As we walked down the hill to get some breakfast all of the other hotels had their back-up generators going and everyone was happily eating breakfast - our hotel didn't have a generator, or didn't want to use it. I could believe that maybe this hotel was a 5 star development 10 years ago, but it has clearly had zero investment since then, has the bare minimum of staff now and is the equivalent of a 3 star property at best. As a result it is soul-less, dirty, run-down, poorly managed and neglected - but they still want to charge 5 star prices. The website is wholly misleading, bordering on fraudulent, in its representation of the property, and the photos look nothing like the actual rooms now. If you book a room with a private pool (this was what attracted me to this hotel), be aware that the 'private pools' are run down, dirty, unmaintained and completely unusable. I wouldn't have allowed my dog to paddle in ours. All of the negative reviews here are correct and accurate. There are a lot of much nicer hotels right next to this one, so avoid this hotel like the plague and don't spoil your holiday.
