    Spot the beach

    rating02 Feb 2017

This place epitomises everything that tourism does to a once-lovely place. There's hardly a grain of sand that isn't covered by massive, grotesque leather sun loungers - as the photo aptly demonstrates. Once upon a time I couldn't be dragged off this beach; sad.

As Native Greek as I've ever Got!

    rating15 Sept 2015

Travelled to this Island in September 2014Excellent Rustic hotel, exactly what I was after being a 'Traveller' compared to a 'Tourist' as Malinos said :) Overall had many conversations over the week with Malinos and he even arranged passage and accommodation for me to SantoriniPicked up and dropped back off at Airport by Owner of Hotel and warmly told Id be more than welcome back in the future.Ano Mera is a place to visit, especially the Monastery! :) try and speak to a priest there in broken Greek and German about how old the items are in the church lol,,you will be surprised to say the least.p.s. Id love to try and find Malinos on facebook or twiiter and add him

    Right on the beach!

    rating28 Aug 2015

This hotel is located right on Psarou Beach. We didn't want to be a super crowded neighborhood (like the city center) or near all the parties (like Paradise Beach). Psarou is more on the chill and relaxed side of the spectrum. Lounge chairs, beach umbrellas, and hanging beach pods. I loved it! The hotel is also right next to Nammos Restaurant too, which is really romantic and trendy. It's the kind of place celebrities will hang out at if they want to be away from all the hustle and bustle. They are also known to have some pretty awesome parties. The hotel is located a ways down the main road at the bottom of the hill. It can be a bit inconvenient if you want to catch a cab or explore by foot. You either have to wait for a cab to be called, or you can walk up the huge hill (about a 15 min walk) to catch a cab from the main road. There's also local buses that run along the main road, but if you try to catch one to go into the city during sunset, good luck. You might have to wait for several buses before you can hop on one because it's so packed. On the plus side, the city center is only a short ride away - maybe 15-20 minutes. The rooms are quite small, but comfortable. We definitely chose this hotel for the location and proximity to Psarou Beach. Didn't really spend too much time at the hotel but to sleep at night. We didn't get a remodeled room, so everything was kind of old. The bathroom is also quite small and the shower didn't have any walls, so everything got wet. The staff seemed friendly enough and the room was clean. Overall, not bad. I just LOVED the beach.

    Beware Yetis Restaurant Drinks Charges

    rating03 Aug 2015

I Visited Psarou beach with my Wife , Sister & Brother in Law in July. While we were walking looking for sun beds a guy came out of the Yetis Restaurant & offered us sun beds saying if we bought a drink there wouldn't be a charge for the sun beds. After about 10 minutes me & my wife went into the sea for a swim at this point the sun bed guy went to my sister & brother in law to ask them to order a drink. He told them there was a there was only cocktails , wine or beer no water or soft drinks. As my brother in law can't drink alcohol they asked for 2 non alcoholic Piña Colada. On returning to my sun bed the owner asked me & my wife to purchase a drink so I asked for 2 small beers & was promptly told that only large beers could be purchased. At this point the alarm bells were starting to ring so I asked him the price of a beer. To my utter disbelief he told me the price for 1beer would be 19 Euros making it 38 Euros for 2 beers when most of the bars were charging between 3 euros to 5 euros. At this point I told him what he could do with his free sun beds and walked off . At this point my sister asked him what the cost of the coloured water she had just drunk and was told 26 euros for the two. As she had already had her drink she told him that was an absolute rip off & would only pay 20 euros. I eventually found 2 sunbeds & umbrella for 12 euros without having to buy a drink. My advice to anyone going to Psarou Beach is avoid the Yetis Restaurant like the plague as they only have one aim and that is to rip people off SO BEWARE.
