    I held my bridal shower at the Grand Del Mar and I am writing about my experience so that other people spare time and money by considering other venues to host their events instead of here. For my bridal shower my bridesmaids and I decided to do a tea at the lobby lounge of the Grand Del Mar. I have been to tea here several times before and it’s honestly a gorgeous venue. The tea is average, but I still wanted to host my shower here. The sales manager was helpful at first and offered a discounted rate on the room we were renting which convinced us to book even thought it was pricey. After confirming my booking it was pulling teeth getting in touch with the point person for my event. She was not on time for scheduled calls, took several days or sometimes over a week to get back to me on event details, she did not listen to my requests, I had to ask her several times to confirm my booking, etc. It was very stressful working with her. My bridal shower (tea and salad for 20 people no extras) came out to over $4,000 when all was said and done. Only one server was dedicated to my event and although she did her best, everything was lacking. The event was 2 hours and I feel like for $2000 an hour, there should have been much better service, much better communication, and more accommodations. This venue does HUGE events that make them way more money than my tiny bridal shower, and that is how their service made me feel. It felt like because my event was minor in comparison to their larger events, my event was put on the back burner. I absolutely do not recommend hosting events here unless money is not an object to you. If you decide to book here manage your expectations!

    We truly enjoyed it my wife and I, we were just trying to relax in one place we didn’t want to leave.The pool, jacuzzi and pool service was up scale.The room and room service was grand.Property was well kept, we enjoyed our 4 day stay and appreciated the quality of service the Fairmont provided.We appreciated MR.     We were very disappointed that this five star luxury resort had horrible Wi-Fi. I was not able to attend a very important Zoom meeting for work which has had a negative impact with my employer. We ate dinner at Amaya and although the presentation of the food was beautiful, the portions were extremely small. I ordered the squash ravioli, and I had to look for the five tiny squash with filling the size of a nickel. I don’t mind paying top dollar for quality food at a resort, but the prices for what you got were ridiculous. The customer service at this hotel is outstanding, with staff going above and beyond for guests. I would definitely give them 5 stars.
