Good location, outdated, too many rules

    rating14 Sept 2025

My husband and I stayed here three nights during a two week vacation in Greece that included 5 different hotels. The good about this hotel: location and easy access to the downtown area. The outside of the hotel, including the pool in common areas are very nice. The people who run the hotel (a family) were very helpful. However, there are a lot of negatives during our stay. When we first got to the hotel, we were surprised at how dated our room was after seeing photos online - our room looked nothing like the photos in those posted on TripAdvisor. The bathroom- when I first arrived and took a shower, it clogged, and I was standing more than ankle deep in the previous guest’s filth. They had to come and use a plunger and Draino - twice! There’s a drain in the center of the bathroom next to the sink that was so filthy that it looked like it had never been cleaned, and the cleaning people kept covering it up with a trashcan. The bathroom also had one tiny light that didn’t really do much. The lighting in the entire suite was very bad & very dimly lit. The Wi-Fi barely worked. You had to keep logging in every single time you walked into the room and even multiple times after you already had logged in. We just stopped doing it after a while. The rules- so many rules!! NO SUNSCREEN allowed in the pool!! So I guess they’d like their guests to enjoy the pool while getting sunburns & skin cancer! We were charged two euro each for beach towels. Every other hotel we’ve stayed at supplied those with no additional cost. And then there were rules about which towel was for the pool and which was for the beach. Meanwhile, they were identical. Breakfast was in a basement! No outdoor seating. No outside food was allowed at the pool either. The breakfast was exactly the same on the two days we ate breakfast there & nothing special. We chose to eat elsewhere on our last day. We also felt like the older lady from the hotel was always watching us. Very weird! We would not stay there again.

    Clean, quiet, great location

    rating12 Sept 2025

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The staff were very welcoming and kept the property very clean. The pool is a nice size for swimming or just lounging around. The place is very small but we never had a problem getting a sunbed. The staff will offer drinks or snacks for purchase by the pool. Breakfast is a buffet but they make you omelettes or scrambled eggs if you ask. No gluten free products or alternative milk unfortunately. (We did ask.) No decaf at breakfast but there is an a Nespresso machine and pods with decaf in the room. Each room has a private patio and a clothes line which is convenient. It is very close to the beach and the main shopping and dining area. Lots of great restaurants in Naousa’s tourist area. The issue we had was the very poor wifi on the property which we were told is an issue on the island. However we used wifi just about every where else on the island with no issue. They were aware and were going to look at it. (Also this meant the tv reception was awful.) Overall, this quiet hotel is a lovely choice.

    Horrendous holiday

    rating17 Aug 2025

My opinion.Experienced a very rude owner who has absolutely no ability to try and solve any issues that occurred during my stay.Rooms extremely clean and perfectly pristine and white however, my room had a foul stench from the toilet 24/7.No bath as advertised on their website.Rooms noisy. Hear voices, dressing table chair being dragged, wardrobes being banged etc very clearly, and it is disruptive whilst trying to sleep. The double premium hottub rooms are above the breakfast room/kitchen/laundry room so the noises may well have come from underneath also.Couldn't get any stations on the TV.Wi-fi constantly drops every 10 minutes.Pool surrounded 360° by rooms/apartments and what I believe is the owners own accommodation. This means cleaners circulates around the pool most of the day dragging trolly, bin bags etc full of sheets/bed toppers/towels and banging doors, racing up and down the stairs and steps which completely kills the peace, and having to cut across and go in-between your sunbeds.Limited amount of sunloungers so may be an issue in high season (only a problem one day early June).Next to a villa which hosts hens/stag parties which caused disruption for three nights.Pool rules are ridiculous and very difficult to adhere to.Charged for towels (4 euros daily) and yet you have to keep the same ones for three days even though they have bird mess over them, and you have to shower and wipe all suncream off you before entering the pool, and made to feel uncomfortable when wished to change after two days.Feel watched 24/7 by CCTV. Any splashing/diving/fun and laughter gets swiftly dealt with.Very difficult to carefully swim without making any swishing noises, and without splashing a small amount of water out of the pool, so you are left not wanting to use!Had an issue with sleeping due to the noise and disruption of other guests and non guests, and the owner shouted at my Fiancé and ripped his shirt off in front of both of us causing embarrasment and humiliation, leaving her in tears. Absolutely no respect shown and deeply disturbing that he found this behaviour acceptable in front of a respectable couple in their mid-fifties.Had to purchase own toilet paper at one stage as cleaner didn't replenish which wasn't a problem as in the expense but being quizzed when we needed it a number of times in open forum, a little embarrassing!Left three days early as owner stated no room change available and then found out there was but in my opinion owner clearly wanted to be awkward which is unfathomable for someone whom has been in hospitality for decades.I felt this place had a very strange and uncomfortable vibe. I found it very awkward, and couldn't relax and enjoy my holiday.I have never stayed anywhere quite like this. Although beautiful to look at, sadly in my opinion, that's where it ends.

    Unwelcoming and very awkward vibe.

    rating06 Aug 2025

The owner Themis is arrogant and unaccommodating. The pool area has so many rules attached that it is not a pleasurable or relaxing vibe. We were four girls traveling together and when we were leaving neither Themis nor Maki made any attempt to help us bring our bags down precarious stairs from our room even when we asked for help. The best thing about this accommodation is Antonakis tavern across the road☺️…do yourself a favour and look elsewhere in the area for accommodation your next holiday !

    An honest opinion

    rating24 Jul 2025

An aesthetically beautiful hotel however ruined with - in my opinion - aggressive/angry staff.Had the double with the hottub on the end above the cleaners laundry room. Next door to a young family with a lively toddler whom spent hours enjoying herself on the balcony/hottub. Rooms listed as 'ideal for couples' with a maximum of 2 guests. Some booking sites state rooms are soundproof; sadly they are not. Averaging three hours sleep a night as the toddler was poorly, bless her, and consistently being awakened, I asked to be moved and was informed that no other rooms would come available for the duration of our stay (12 nights). The disruption was ruining our holiday, so I said we were leaving. I requested a refund for the three nights we wouldn't be there (was misinformed by another staff member regarding the families departure date). I have a heart issue and very high blood pressure, and stated this was detriment to my health, and that it was our anniversary/engagement celebration holiday, and we wished to wake up in a quieter hotel. What happened next was diabolical. A member of staff started shouting at me. Initially, I thought he was joking. Continuing to yell at me and not interested in my situation at all, he ripped open his shirt in front of me and my Fiancé and continued shouting and left me feeling threatened, embarrassed and humiliated. I was crying and shaking and completely taken aback with what was completely disproportionate to the conversation I was trying to have with him. He wouldn't listen to a word I had to say.I've never been treated in what I believe was such a disrespectful and bullying manner. He started he no longer wished to speak to me even though the booking was in my name and I had paid him €3767, yet still he dismissed me, which left me further humiliated as people looked on.He offered a room swap (which I was told wasn't available during our stay) and expected us to continue being at his residence even after his unnecessary outburst. Finally, the bill. I came to pay with a card and he refused. He only wanted cash. I held out my card again, and he refused. After everything that he put me through, he had me walk back to the room to get him euros and back to reception to pay him in cash.I have requested CCTV footage. I submitted a complaint three weeks ago with a number of issues (I believe what I have highlighted to be the most important). Today, someone purporting to be his solicitor is now making me feel threatened further stating they will start charging me if I email him again asking for him to respond to my complaint. He hasn't responded to my official complaint. He hasn't apologised. He hasn't offered any refund or given me the surity the behaviour I received won't be repeated as ultimately now I've left, I don't want this to happen to another guest.
