  The property itself is very nice, with beautiful surroundings and plenty of potential, but unfortunately the level of service is severely lacking and really lets the hotel down.Our problems started from the moment we arrived. We were placed in a different room from the one we had booked. Before going to the room, I specifically asked reception whether it had a sea view and was assured that it did. When we entered the room, it very obviously did not. As it was already around 11pm, there wasn’t much we could do that evening. The following day, we were simply told that the hotel was fully booked and therefore they couldn’t move us to the room category we had actually reserved.Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated issue. Service at both reception and the restaurants is consistently slow and erratic. We were certainly not the only guests who felt this way; on several occasions there were other guests at reception complaining about various problems.There are also a number of unnecessary rules that make the experience feel far less guest-friendly than it should. The pool doesn’t open until 10:30am, irons aren’t allowed in the rooms, pool towels can only be changed every two days, and there are several other little restrictions that simply don’t make sense for a hotel of this type.I did speak with the Italian manager, who genuinely tried to help and was courteous throughout. However, one manager obviously cannot be everywhere or compensate for wider service and operational problems across the hotel.After I explained my dissatisfaction, I was offered a complimentary meal. I declined it. I strongly dislike the practice of offering something free as a way of resolving a legitimate complaint. A €50 meal doesn’t change the experience we’ve had, and I would much rather the hotel address the actual problems than offer me something complimentary.It’s a real shame because Akti Taygetos is a very attractive property and could be an excellent hotel. The physical product is there. What is missing is consistent, professional service and much better attention to the guest experience. With significant improvements in those areas, this could be a hotel I’d happily recommend. As things stand, unfortunately I cannot.

  Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere, amazing location next to the sea and very nice facilities! We enjoyed our stay to the fullest!

  As other reviews have mentioned, the resort is spotless, with beautifully kept surroundings, friendly staff and spacious rooms. We stayed in a comfort triple bungalow and were impressed by how comfortable it actually was (and of good size). This is not one of the bustling, loud resort were you fight for a pool space (thankfully) so whenever our children wanted to just stay in the pool area, they'd always be space. Lovely and varied breakfast each morning, including lots of local produce. This is a resort for those who wish to have a comfortable base to explore the city and the extended area. Would gladly return.

  We stayed two weeks at Atki Taygetos that is perfectly located for a stay in Kalamata and to explore the Peloponnese in the Mani Peninsula area. The warmth and efficient polite hotel staff made our stay enjoyable, lots of choices at breakfast, sun loungers were always available at the poolside side everything was an ease especially ordering from the poolside bar with staff were polite and efficient. The beach bar that stayed open late serving with efficiency’s and engaging staff of wonderful cocktails - especially “The Vespa” and “Apple Cocktails”
