Oh dear Camvillia. No one can deny the stunning location of the hotel. You have some wonderful friendly and helpful staff but are totally let down by poor management. Housekeeping is simply dreadful; every day I had to go to Reception and ask for something - clean towels, more soap, clean sheets left at the foot of the bed, broken lamp and finally the paper bin in the bathroom not emptied. I do not wish to spend my precious holiday asking for basic things and then being told by Management that it is a five star hotel. Insincere apologies and nothing being done to resolve the issue is not good enough - even for a three star hotel. This was my fourth and last visit to the hotel. Get your act together and stop resting on your laurels.

Dear 66myrab,We thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. However, we would like to clarify a few points for the sake of accuracy and fairness.First of all, this is the second review you have published, which we feel does not reflect a balanced approach. We understand that some inconveniences, such as housekeeping delays, may have occurred during your stay, and whenever you communicated these to our team, they were addressed immediately. Our staff and management worked to resolve any faults and ensure your comfort throughout your visit. We must kindly but firmly state that our management is not “poor.” On the contrary, our goal is always to offer attentive service and find solutions when issues arise. Beyond this, you also enjoyed additional benefits outside of your original booking agreement—something we offered in good faith, as a gesture of goodwill and because we genuinely camed back. We regret to read that, despite our efforts, you have chosen to describe your experience in this way. Our many returning guests appreciate both the hospitality and the setting of Camvillia Resort, and we remain committed to maintaining and improving our services. With respect,Camvillia Resort Management

Fabulous for peaceful holiday
01 Oct 2025
We really enjoyed our holiday to Camvillia. Firstly the views, they were just incredible. No words can describe them!! Our room was just fine, nothing spectacular but we spend very little time in our room on holiday anyway. The bed was super comfy though as were the pillows. We did book a sea view room and I have to admit I was a little disappointed as the view was totally blocked by a huge olive tree. Also, there was no free water in the room - you had to pay for it. For a 5 * resort I would have expected water to be provided.Breakfast was ok. There was everything we wanted - I would say if you were there for more than a week you may get fed up with it though. The shuttle to the beach was great as was the beach itself. The water was beautiful and clear and we really enjoyed our days down there. There were a few tavernas there for lunch / drinks etc. The days we weren't on the beach were spent by the pool which was so peaceful and quiet. There were enough beds for everyone but I can imagine in peak season this may be problem but wasn't for us. We went 1/2 board so had lunch at the hotel on pool days and evening meal on beach days! Lunch was superb, you could pick 2 dishes each off the normal lunch menu. We really enjoyed our evening meal on 2 occasions but on our 3rd it was totally below par. I don't know if it was a different chef but we didn't enjoy it at all.On the evenings we didn't eat at the hotel we went into Koroni and to a local taverna (the one that doesn't have prices on the menu). Highly recommend !If you are wanting an action packed holiday then this hotel is not for you, it is in a remote location with very little nearby but for us was just perfect!Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, it just needs a couple of minor tweaks (hence why I gave it 4/5) but we would definitely return.

Dear dawnp340,Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful review and for choosing Camvillia Resort for your holiday in Messinia. We are truly delighted to read that you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, breathtaking views, and the comfort of your room and bedding. It’s wonderful to know that both our main pool and beach shuttle service helped create a relaxing and carefree experience for you.We truly appreciate your constructive feedback as well. Regarding the olive tree partially obstructing your sea view — our resort is surrounded by centuries-old olive groves that add to the natural charm of the landscape, but we understand how this might have affected your view and will take it into consideration for future room allocations. As for the complimentary water, our resort provides a daily refill service to all room categories or upon request in case of more bottles are requested, and we apologize if this wasn’t clearly communicated during your stay. Your comments on breakfast and dinner variety have been shared with our culinary team, who continuously strive to offer the best possible dining experience to all our guests. We are glad you appreciated the calm ambiance and the authenticity of the surrounding area, as Camvillia is indeed designed for guests seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and a genuine Greek experience.Thank you once again for your kind words and your valuable suggestions. We would be thrilled to welcome you back for another serene and memorable stay — perhaps next time with a fully unobstructed sea view and a few new culinary surprises!Warm regards,

Stunning views, shame about the hotel
30 Sept 2025
It would seem that the majority of people who went as we did to Camvillia resort & spa in September are of the same opinion that things are dreadfully inadequate. We can’t all be wrong and yet why did this Hotel get good reviews in August this year? How come this Hotel went from 5 Star rating to 3 Star rating in just a month? Did it change hands or let too many staff go leaving inadequate management to run this Hotel? With better Management this could be a fabulous Hotel. What a shame that they have so many negative reviews. Come on wake up before you run it into the ground!!!!!!

Stunning views 5 star, Hotel and service 3 star at the most
30 Sept 2025
Just returned home from Camvillia, after a week to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. First impressions lovely and the views are stunning but that's where the good points end. Some of the staff and the hotel manager, are very chatty and spend time with repeat customers, certainly not the new ones. We were in a swim up room, room 907 and had several issues. The pool wasn't cleaned for our first 3 days and it was full of dead bugs, grime and the steps to get in and out were loose amd unstable. We asked for them to clean it on day 3 and were told it gets cleaned every day. This happened for 2 days out of our 7 and only after asking, so we could use what we had paid for.Breakfast and lunchtime bar staff do not engage in conversation and you either don't receive the drinks you ordered, or they take forever to come. Most of the time, we went to the bar to order ourselves, this should not happen in a 5 star hotel. We walked out of the restaurant on our 3rd evening as we were sat at a dark table, in a corner, with creased linen. A guy with Armani sports shorts, tshirt and trainers brought us menus. Again, 5 star a la carte? After 26 minutes of no drinks or food orders taken, we walked out. We spoke to Artemis on reception, who thought saying sorry for all of the above, was enough. They ignored us for the rest of our stay. The city tax at 15 euros a night is laughable as this is what is charged for a 5 star hotel. Camvillia is NOT 5 star.I've seen on other reviews, the response from the hotel is that people didn't address the issues at the hotel at the time, we did, and nothing was done. Our room was cleaned very briefly each day by literally making the bed, refreshing the towels and emptying bins. There were stains on the floor when we arrived, that were still there when we left. Cobwebs on the wall and mirror above the dressing table, thick dust on top of the bathroom mirror, dirt and grime around the bath and shower screen, marks on the walls and dirty frames of patio doors inside and out. If it wasn't for the little taverna in the church grounds, we wouldn't have eaten as the 90 euros a night, on the first 2 nights of our stay wasn't worth the money.I've also added a photo of us in front of the hotel sign as we noticed in a previous review, that wasn't a positive review, they came back with there's no booking with their names so they didn't stay with them at Camvillia.

Fawlty Towers with a View
30 Sept 2025
Just returned from 12 nights at this resort staying in Room 803 on a half board basis. Immediately you arrive you cannot help but be impressed with the view the hotel enjoys over the bay. As with others we booked on the basis this was a 5Star Hotel but after our initial impression the reality started to dawn and we came to soon realise this was a misdescription.Of particular concern are the following:1. Smoking - if you are a non smoker like we are this is not a place to enjoy the fresh sea or mountain air. The only place you are not allowed to smoke is in your room. It is allowed on your balcony, in the restaurant at breakfast where one Greek gentlemen chain smoked. It is also permitted by the pool, on the beach, in the bar and reception everywhere. When I asked the customer relationship manager if there were any no smoking rooms her response was Next Year!!!2. The Food - breakfast is limited. No freshly cooked eggs or omelettes, watered down orange juice, bacon and sausage and frittata at best lukewarm. Cups of tea and coffee with no teaspoons, boiled eggs with no egg cups,or spoons! At night the position did not improve. The menu did not change, the food when it arrived sometimes after 30 minutes did not resemble what you had ordered and most dishes were served with no vegetables and mashed potatoes. There were only two waiting staff and they were sometimes overwhelmed which resulted in guests walking out due to the delay or else being turned away. We chose after four nights to eat out at local restaurants where food was reasonably priced and of good quality.3. Housekeeping - no information in the room regarding room service. The mini bar only had four items in all overpriced. The cleaners took 10 minutes to do the room and the floors in both the bathroom and bedroom were not washed during our stay. My feet were filthy from walking around the room! On one day the clean towels left I discovered when I got out the shower were wet!4.The Beach the private beach advertised forms part of a large beautiful public beach. The hotels sun beds are uncomfortable with no cushions and crammed together. This resulted in my husband gashing his leg open on the second day and having to go o the pharmacy to get it dressed. Luckily Gerry was on hand to take him there .To add insult to injury at the end of our stay we were charged 10 euros a day for using the sun beds although there was no price anywhere to say you would be charged. When I asked the hotel for antiseptic the first aid box was empty! There are some great members of staff, Gerry, Costas the buggy driver and Andreas on reception. It is however apparent the hotel lacks investment and management and is understaffed. The Customer Service Manager has little or no relationship with the hotel guests and her attitude can at times be rude. Needless to say we will not be returning as the whole experience was one of being in Fawlty Towers than in a Five Star Hotel.4.

Dear HawkhurstJan,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at Camvillia Resort & Spa. While we are truly pleased that you appreciated our breathtaking views and certain members of our staff, we are sorry to read that other aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to clarify a few important points:All outdoor areas of the resort—such as balconies, terraces, the pool, and the beach—are open-air spaces where smoking is legally permitted under Greek regulations. However, all rooms are strictly non-smoking and equipped with smoke detection sensors to ensure guests’ comfort and safety. We do monitor compliance carefully and take immediate action whenever a breach is reported.Regarding breakfast and dining, our culinary team prepares daily selections that include a wide variety of hot and cold options, both international and local, refreshed throughout service hours. We regret that our menu did not align with your personal preferences, though food quality and variety are among the most highly rated aspects of our guest feedback. As for room cleanliness, our housekeeping team provides daily full service, including mopping, towel replacement, and restocking of minibar and amenities, with any additional requests handled promptly upon notification. Our beach area, located on a pristine and fully serviced section of a public coastline, is organized daily by our team to provide comfort and order. Sunbeds are cleaned and arranged each morning, and any incident involving guest injury is treated with immediate care by our staff.Lastly, we would like to note that comfort of our beds is one of the most frequently praised aspects of our accommodation, and we are genuinely surprised to read otherwise. At Camvillia Resort & Spa, we remain committed to offering authentic hospitality, attention to detail, and the tranquility our guests seek. We are sorry that your stay did not reflect this fully and sincerely hope that you may consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide the experience for which our resort is known.Kind regards,
