Delightful Greek hotel, with impeccable service.

This was the first time I had stayed at Finikounda, and to find this amazing family run hotel was a bonus. Every member of staff were helpful, knowledgeable and polite. A special mention to Rosa, Nikos, & Rafaella who made myself and my Granddaughter Grace (17) feel very special; nothing was too much trouble, thank you. We stayed on a breakfast and dinner basis, it was lovely; breakfast was plentiful, fresh and tasty. We chose our evening meal from the menu, the choice was vast; lots of Greek homemade dishes (we tried and ate everything!!). As for the restaurant, sitting under a grapevine, on blue and white rustic furniture, looking out over the water was both authentic and breathtaking; the view is incredible! The walk into Finikounda takes 15 minutes-ish, no more, and we found a footpath which cut out a lot of the steep bits! Anyhow, it's an easy walk, no problem, but take a torch for evening strolls. Our room was 406, what a view, top floor, it was clean, with fresh towels every day if you needed them?! There isn't a lift so we climbed a few stairs but again no problem as we needed to walk off supper!! The beach is down a slope which is lined with Olive & Lemon trees, a tap is available close to the beach and there are half a doz steps onto the beach. Parasols and loungers were available all day. The water is crystal clear, a few clusters of rocks here and there but there is sandy access into the water. The hotel pools, are spotless, there is a life guard who is very attentive. Its a quiet hotel, mainly couples; I can't fault it in any way. Grace walked into town a couple of times and she loved the simplicity of the hotel, it's just a cracking find and we will be back next year for sure.This is a family run hotel, the family actually built the hotel, they love the bones of the place; The Golden Sun hotel is highly recommended to those who seek, tradition, authentically Greek, peace, cleanliness, good food and views to die for.

Breathtaking view with the best sunset we ever saw! Perfect for families great menu and super friendly and professional personnel! Highly recommended and for sure we will return!

Nice hotel.ok breakfast swimming pool area very nice beach good with free sunbeds they part of the hotelDid not eat her. But looked nice enough. Just 2 warnings 1 The hotel is no good for people with walking disabilities The pool and beach has slopes and steps Also if you don't have a car it's a long walk to finikounda by road and if your fit enough a very steep up hill .All in all nice place.

Very friendly and hospitable. Very clean. Beds are super comfy. Food is amazing. Great breakfast and filter coffee. Bit of a steep walk off the beach into the village. Best to have a car to get around and see nearby places. Beach is just down some steps with sunbeds and umbrellas. Great snorkelling. Loved it here x

Sadly this is our last day at this magic place called the Golden Sun Hotel in Finikounda. This is the real Greece , an authentic Greek hotel with excellent outdoor facilities around a huge swimming pool, and if you want , the beach is just a few step down. The staff are absolutely fantastic!. Best Greek hospitality we have experienced travelling around Greece and other European countries . It was amazing how many guests we spoke to come back every year to Golden Sun Hotel .The Hotel is a short 10 minute stroll to the heart of Finikounda where you will find 10-15 restaurants that provide excellent Greek and International cousin at very reasonable prices. If you want to experience the real Greece this is the place to visit . We are definitely coming back !
